  • Awesome song!

  • why dont you post girl on fire

  • I want to here girl on fire is it any good?

  • @mizka47 yes, it's a heavy punk tune and it's great, i've got a mellow acoustic version of it too.

  • Love old A.L. but lets face it this is derived from Jimi's Axis Bold As Love.Arthur was great but Jimi was a god,who could fail to be influenced by him?

  • @thewalkingowls its true in reverse cause really its JIMI HENDRIX who did got influencied by ARTHUR LEE in all its meaning as fashon style and musical ideas as well. you can find something about here at YOU TUBE

  • @rochebraziliano Hell yeah it was Jim Moorisons # 1 dog who be the primarily infulenza who helped that nigga lay it down

  • Comment removed

  • ACTUALLY YOU ARE WRONG !!! JIMI AND JIM MORRISON WERE ARTHURS DISCIPLES !! THEY ADORED HIM !!! IF ARTHUR HAD BOTHERED TO TOUR HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER THTH THE DOORS AND HENDRIX !!! HE COULD SING WHERAS JIMI CANT !!!

  • Yes-Midnight Sun is on the original release which I first got in 1973

  • wich album was it on?

  • so many times in my life I can relate to this song

  • Arthur Lee & Love - The Red Telephone (Live) was very good

  • Arthur recorded with Jimi in 1970 and it appears on the False Start album. The song is titled "The Everlasting First" and there was an early version of "E-Z Rider" which was originally titled "Easy Rider" and also a tune called "Jam" . Both unreleased but recently an acetate sold on eBay for over $2 grand. That stuff was from the Blue Thumb sessions. I actually have some promo artwork however from Black Beauty, and how Arthur managed to release this in the 90's is another odd yet shady move

  • No wonder this song sounds like Bold as Love

  • was jimi involved in this song in some way?

  • @mizka47 yes theyre were good friends him and Arthur.

  • and how can i get this song, i cant find it that easily

  • This song originates from the as yet unreleased but soon to be released 1973 album called Black Beauty. It was produced by Paul Rothchild for Buffalo records which was owned by Michael Butler (also owned the Aquarius Theatre and the rights to the musical Hair).

Personnel on this track are as follows : Arthur Lee vocals/guitar , Robert Rozelle on bass, Melvan Whittington on guitar, and a 16 year old Joey Blocker on drums. This album was to follow Vindicator which was on A&M.

  • This song is not from 'Vindicator'...it is most definitely on the unreleased "Black Beauty" album (I found a copy on Ebay).

  • a less commercial and better musician than hendrix! check out forever changes! the best album iv ever owned! and i have thousands!!!

  • I didn't mean girl on fire, silly,I meant the featured cut,Midnight sun-take a prozac and a nap, cloud !!

  • Yeah i know, and it still was NEVER on "vindicator" silly!

  • Midnight Sun is not on Vindicator it is fro Black Beauty

  • Exactly!

  • where can i get this song?

  • @murasakiryu & @thepowderedclouds, you're right because I have both the Vindicator LP and the CD with bonus tracks and I know that it's on none of them so it must be on Black Beauty. I've also heard that it's on BB. Now please tell me, Which release is the best source for "Black Beauty" ? I have a feeling that it can be got on at least 2 forms or comps / releases etc. Please can you give me the direction to the best in quality as well. Thanks.

  • This cut is from his 1972 solo album "Vindicator"-not recorded in the 90"s-please get your info correct so as not to mislead new fans of Arthur Lee !!

  • Tho this record goes way back,it was released on the "girl on fire" single from 1994,and it certainly WASN`T on "vindicator" so why don`t YOU get ya info correct !!

  • @thepowderedclouds thats original from unreleased album titled BLACK BEAUTY from early 1970, and by the way its just JIMI HENDRIX on guitar

  • @jahhorkle This wasnt on my copy of Vindicator LP. Do you have a different copy? Do you have YOUR info correct?

  • he grew up with and was friends with hendrix!

  • I have a bootleg copy of an unreleased Love album, "Black Beauty" which was supposed to have come out somewhere around 1973...and this song, this version of it, is on that LP. I think "Girl On Fire" is definitely newer material, but to the best of my knowledge, "Midnight Sun" goes way, way back. Great tune.

  • i didn't kno it was possible to make music like this in the 90s

  • it sound like hendrix its verry good

  • OH MY GOSH!! That's my sentiments exactly!!!

  • Wow, that was great. Never heard that before.
