Animal extinction will be a continuous trend. In another 100 years or less most specialized animal will only be seen in zoos. Experts will point to poaching as the reason because it creates anger, sympathy and more donations. Animal trade may have been the reason 20 or 30 years ago but presently the truth is the lost of habitat due to deforestation and urbanization . This reduces space and food especially for tigers and elephants, the inverse effect of increase of human population and greed.

look at the other tiger conservation programms for tigers and lions in india! india is doing a great jo preserving lions and tigers.

it's only in india that the asiatic lion still lives. during the colonial time the british nearly killed the entire lion population in india! but the indian government and local support managed to preserve the tiger andnow india has the 400 lions.

India is the only country in the world which despite population and economic booms still has tiger, lions, leopards, snow leopards, elephants etc.!!

Hmm...let's see, 100 years ago, you had tens of thousands of tigers, lions, cheetahs, and elephants. Yet look a them today, the Asiatic Cheetah is extinct, and the rest are heading directly down that road.

Lions went extinct in Europe millenia ago, there isn't anything BBC or European countries could have done.

And by the way, South Africa also has populations of lions, leopards, elephants, and rhinos. And guess what, they are actually viable!

Blaming all deaths on poachers is not accurate. Many tigers have died due to conservations making blunders. They wont admit this and the media has not exposed it. All deaths get blamed on poachers. Its convenient.

Check Adam Barlow in Sundarbans and Ullas Karanth in Nagarhole. Both men have been accused of causing tiger deaths. We cant be sure if it is correct. But worth investigating

this world has many billionaires now and a few secret trillionaires, these assholes need another private jet?, the thrill i would have creating parks and sanctuarys where i could hire some dirty mofos to protect against poachers. Imagine the gift of being able to save an entire animal race. Indian politics consists mostly of infinitely greedy politicians who are awfully corrupt and a disgrace to mankind, who care the least for anything else. If only there is way to save our tigers then its by the dedicated wildlife conservationists and us. By educating ourselves and others, hence creating awareness among all and with the help of NGO's I think we can make a change from this brink situation.

hello everyone. i think the only way to save the bengal tiger in india is to create awareness among the masses, and to donate whatever you can to tiger saving organisations. also create awareness of how the chinese traditional medicine is bad. get people to understand that if you have tigers, it will help the people by creating tourism. come on people, tiger is the national symbol of india, if we allow it to go extinct, it will be one of the biggest shames the country will face.

In UK/US there are several 'Adopt a Tiger' schems are collecting money from subscribers on monthly basis (around £3-4 pounds per month on direct-debit). Subscribers to these schems should verify which tigers particular tiger the scheme is protecting for them and proof of existance of the tiger on regular basis.

i dont know whether my comments would make a difference but all i can say is that its INDIA who cares about tigers when 60% of the population live below the poverty line. this is the land where the rich become richer and the poor become poorer, trust me its a disgrace and the young minds dream about going overseas right from the age of 10 in this country. I will not blame a particular comunity but yes without naming anyone it is very obvious that with a staff of 300 ppl this cannot happen without their knowledge. And the govt here is more busy minting money than looking at animals. i would like to comment on this video, though it might not be directly related to it, there was recently a news article where it was mentioned that in Gujrat the tigers & lions are so much in no's that they are crossing the borders of their alloted land & feeding on the nearby tribal areas.

an another state requested to the Gujrat govt & to the Centre for some lions, as they have some empty land, the response was 'NO', all for reason 'why should we sacrifice our lions'.

It is true that our governemnet is to be blamed much for the present state of affairs in our efforts to conserve the tiger. However, I would also like to blame the so called tiger experts or conservationists. There are some 5 star consevationist who write books, produce serials and stay in 5 star hotels and resorts. They can ridicule anyone who defies or rejects their proposition. These self styled experts have done nothing but made money out of the tiger for themselves

He! Its not only Sariska but also many other! The population in Ranthambore suddenly fell fro 45 tigers to 29 or somethin! Yeah! I agree with Chinese issue also! In Sariska they didn't even allow private experts like Valmik Thapar to see to the problem!

There r plans to re-introduce tigers and they have already reintroduced 3 tigers but thats only a part of the solution!
