  • Stellar...!!

  • Escucho, oigo, él está dentro,

El único que vive mientras los otros mienten.

Cierro mis ojos y camino un millar de años,

Un millar de años que ya no son míos...

  • the mammoth riffs of kim thayil \m/

  • Does it get any better? The 90's seemed bleak, then BAM!

  • Their songs are always at very odd and asymmetric time signatures which shift within a song. It's quite a challenge for a band to play around it the way they do. And Matt is making it sound like it's a piece of cake for him. He owns it.

  • Amazing song. One of the reasons why I bought badmotorfinger.

  • @GHEE4345 That guy's name is Chris Cornell :D

  • he looks like a scottish tribal warrior.

  • It amazes me how this is from the early-mid 90's.. and the sound quality on the video camera.. is better than most live videos of concerts from recent years on YT.

  • How big would the mosh pit be if they were to play this at Qwest Field?

  • @southernboygonebad I couldn't imagine. Have you seen a Seahawks game there? The opponents false start penalties that the crowd causes is uncanny. Imagine how loud the crowd would be for these guys!

  • @ericlord821 Play this song and let a mosh pit form while the visiting team is attempting a field goal=ultimate FG distraction. Dude, I would not want that to be my team that has to try that kick

  • I never got to see Chris with Soundgarden. I did however see him with Audioslave, and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

As far as THE best band of the grunge era I would definitely have to put Layne Staley in there as a fierce competitor for that title. He did have the best "Yeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh" ever! Bad Motorfinger or Facelift....who could choose?

  • B E S T V O C A L I S T E V E R

  • Remember wearing shorts with combat boots? lol what a great time to be 18

  • fuck Nirvana, this was the best band of the Grunge era

  • I WAS HERE!!! I WAS HERE!!! GOD I'M OLD!!! good stuff, great times... sigh

  • @phillybrbr and I'm jaleous !

  • @phillybrbr I was them in Atlantic City last week, they were amazing, best show ever

  • @phillybrbr I feel you... I'm a mere 21, but I still sigh constantly, not having had the chance to live through a scene like this. 'Music' today can scarcely even be called music really.

  • " Matt freaking rules on this set. He has alot of staying power and plays relentless and smooth..."

  • @Burningchromosome the groove meister

  • GRUNGE FTW

  • I don't know much about cameras from the early 90s but to me this sounds like it is amazing quality compared to all the other homemade videos of Soundgarden at this time. So a big thanks to who ever filmed and/or uploaded this!!!

  • I'm a metalhead from the 80s and 90s and I must agree that Soundgarden is one of the best bands ever. Just a fluid band, innovative, on the verge of genius. And for the "geniuses" that don't realize the guy behind the stage is a guitar tech, get a life and go watch a live show...any band will have at least one. I hire a tech out of my local shop for big gigs. Silent Flux is opening for Quiet Riot on the 20th...just a breakthrough gig to let Tucson know that we are here to rock the F**K out!!

  • Bow down to Cornell: the best voice in history!

  • Kim Thayil and Soundgarden didn't need any cheating at all, it´s quite clear the guy is tuning one of kim's guitars, for fucksake!!!

  • @asturirish Actually that's Chris' guitar, but fuck yeah to every thing else! Are there really people who think he's back there playing the parts? What idiots!

  • I think he is tuning a guitar

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!

    \m/

  • Who's the guy behind Chris? Is he playin guitar? That is cheating! I never thought that soundgarden would do that!

  • @Ekyvvsaq hes the guitar tech tuning the guitars you moron

  • @torsrizzo69 I just asked! God, do you have some sort of tourettes? try to be more kind to strangers...

  • I describe this song as soul-mud-metal.

  • black sabbath + led zeppelin= SOUNDGARDEN

  • @DARickster777 pretty much

  • true that man!!! easily

  • Matt's been playing the same drumset since the 3rd grade! We're so proud!

  • The 90's fucking ruled! We got AIC and Soundgarden back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DrugstoreCFH Now if we could just get our rights and freedom back!

  • dunkafelic is sooo right! danielbowlin9 is such a loser. oh and he's such an idiot, too. he has nothing better to do than post comments on youtube, comments that no one who's actually living life will ever read...oh wait...i'm danielbowlin9. i suddenly feel so pathetic.

  • Tomorrow begin Tomorrow!!!

  • @raphixx92 tomorrow BEGAT Tomorrow

  • Can we stop using that media tag "grunge" please? All those Seattle bands hated it anyway.

Soundgarden was a METAL band in the great tradition.

  • @RHINOSAUR well said....that is metal guitar

  • @RHINOSAUR Well the real grunge scene had a dirty grunge sound that saw mixes of metal and punk and tempo shifts and what not. Soundgarden in that regards fits that type of category. However they do so in an extremely unique way.

  • @RHINOSAUR you know that a member of mudhoney used grunge as a term to describe the music scene in the 80s right? thats where it came from

  • damn i fucking love grunge

  • @kirstenpetree Then you are wise beyond words!

  • Followed SG for many years and love the music. Heard Outshined on the radio the other day and it caught me off guard. Interesting comment on SG as most innovative band in grunge era. I completely agree, except would hasten to add that all of that 'movement' was forged by the Pixies.

  • sounds a bit like "fa fa fa fa foolin'"

  • ListenHear

  • Matt Cameron: talented and intelligent drummer.... a drummer's drummer!

  • And a second LOL to danielbowlin, the attention whore.

  • LOL at the guy moaning "YES, YEAH!" at the beginning of the song!

  • it's been a whole day and no one talked shit yet??? i thought you guys had all the answers... i thought this whole thing was a matter of life and death...

  • hehehehehe...poop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i'm just kidding. i don't know what i'm talking about. i don't even listen to this kind of music...i don't listen to music at all., really.

  • i heard cornell say in an interview that he doesn't like the term "grunge". so...that means I'M RIGHT!!!!! SHIT SUCKERS!!!!

  • god you people are so stupid. just completely ignorant. don't listen to music. watch your tv and eat your potato chips and jerk it to your porn. dream of a better day that will never come. pathetic fucking worms.

  • @danielbowlin9 you tell everyone here they're idiots right after calling bush "grunge"? I think that proves who the idiot is. I was there at the start of "grunge" right here in seattle, and I never liked the term or understood exactly what it was supposed to mean as the definitions always varied. but I do know that whatever "grunge" is it doesn't include label-invented "grunge" rip-offs like STP from san diego and Bush from england? you're clueless. go listen to your commercial radio and stfu.

  • all you stupid people completely misunderstood what i said...for one thing, i HATE GRUNGE. dumbasses.you think i listen to BUSH??? what a joke. don't cry to me. any more. keep your comments off my shit.

  • Comment removed

  • soundgarden is not grunge. they are a form of deep, expressive rock. bush is grunge.

  • lol what are you talking about how can u say soundgarden isnt grunge but bush is soundgarden is one of the main bands that started the grunge sceene along with mudhoney. and bush grunge lol thats a joke

  • hahah bush! dont make me laugh kid.

you cant distinguish betwen shit and cream, keep that valious knowledge for youself.

you spoke of god and pigs in the same sentance.

  • @danielbowlin9 dont speak

  • Best Soundgarden song. Amazing performance!

  • grunge is not dead!!!!!!! long live soundgarden

  • sensational song!!!! thanks for posting this one, a fine live version!

  • 0:20 that guy is so psyched sounds like hes about to blow a load lol

  • Kim doing lead and rhythm & Chris Cornell without a guitar is the best soundgarden line up!!

  • hahahahahah Chris's intro to this song hahaha gotta love it, and in Philly!!!!!!! People in Philly (like myself) really loved all the Seattle bands, sooooo pyched that they are back together.

  • Good recording.

  • matt cameron one of the best drummers of the 90s

  • λατρευω τους SG!!

  • matt cameron is the shit

  • Utimate grunge.i love this song

  • props to you for posting this

  • When they said this song was about jesus satan and santa clause, they were avoiding a question they saw as irrelevant and stupid.

Soundgarden's music, according to them was strictly art. And true to "art's" form, when you see a beautiful painting or abstract artform, you don't go "what is this about"...you simply take the beauty at face value, at art value and leave it at that. You either love it or you don't; they leave it up to you to be as simple or complex as you perceive it to be.

  • me too NoRules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Matt is just an awesome player/composer

  • Favorite song of all fucking time.

  • What is this song about? Any ideas?

  • I think they said it was something about jesus satan and santa clause. I don't see the connection though.

  • About living your life in a space in your mind that is not real, a lie. Closing your eyes and being in a place that is not true.

Close your eyes expand your mind stay with the truth.

  • This riff is soo freaking heavy!

  • Soundgarden, please come back!

  • As much as I join you in that, it'll take more than a couple miracles at this point...

  • A powerhouse song, one of Soungarden's finest and one of the best music pieces of the 90's grunge explosion.

  • agreed

  • wasn't there an official videoclip fo this song?

I think Youtube keeps turning it down...

  • when cornell had his hair long like that he really looks like the young version of dracula played by gary oldman in dracula 1992.... all he needs are some circular glasses and a tophat suit and cane.

  • awesome!

  • f*ck ! he takes cocain at the beginning of the song... so sad !

  • uhm.. no he drinks..

  • he is dringing a beer you smurf :-D

  • 30 years old and still looking for this sound in music today. Nothing like grunge, NIRVANA, AIC... SOUNDGARDEN BADMOTORFINGER CLASSIC LP IN MY BOOK, ATLEAST TOP 10.

  • Chris Cornell is 350% Rock icon!

  • i know i'm asking too much, but i REALLY miss the 2º guitar making that bend that never end.

  • The blend that never end. That blend that never end.

  • This song kicks ass, shows the true range of Cornell. Best song by Soundgarden

  • this song is tasty.

  • Alright! Kim's using a Firebird!

  • Even though I was only born in '92, the first time I listened to these songs they were already familiar. I grew up with these songs, my mother loving alt-rock during it's boom. It's like they were ingrained in my head right next to learning how to walk.

That sounded insane, but whatever. That's basically me saying I love Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc. Good song.

  • rock on , kiddo :)

  • It warms my heart reading all these comments and seeing all these Soundgarden fans thinking they were the shit! I'm so happy! No one sings like Chris and nobody rocked the world like Soundgardeb did! This was one year before my bírth though :(

  • I think they don't reunite cause Chris can't scream like before....

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!! they played this song the day i was born. i'm fuckin serious!!!!! december 17, '91 right???? OMG! i love this song!

  • How do you know what day you were born? I mean, seriously, you could be like 3 years older than your parents actually told you that you were just so they could keep you at home longer.

It could all be a big episode of PUNK'D

  • LOL! iono. i guess i'm just hoping they're telling me the truth. if not, i could just look at my birth certificate. but what if thats a fake too.... hmmmmm xD anyways soundgarden rocks :)

  • good song,bad quality

  • ya, lol, i luv the song but i wish they had a better quality version i can't figure out what chris is saying. oh, btw, soundgarden, aic, megadeth, etc. rocks

  • cool song

  • This show was a great one. Thanks for posting this!

  • Probably the best SG song out there.

  • I freaking agree! Awesom live sound, too.

  • I was 6 days old that night! Wish they'd do a reunion tour so I could see them! :(

  • I know Chris says otherwise, but I`d say it will happen some day.

  • Money, the great motivator. Eventually they'll need some cash and it will happen.

  • I miss the horn section part big time.

  • Room A Thousand Years Wide Man, the title alone !!! Our boy Chris is a true poet !!! A thousand goals A thousand lies Room's a thousand lies I walk in the cold sun and wind All these years cannot begin Yep, I often mishear lyrics ! "I was slipping through the cracks of a stolen jewel" (Badmotorfinger - Mind Riot, the song before Room) Hey Chris, How do you like that one ?
  • omg i never thought of that! chris cornell is a poet! thats why he writes such a phenomenal and talented songwriter!

  • omg i never thought of that! chris cornell is a poet! thats why he writes such a phenomenal and talented songwriter!

  • Kim Thayil wrote the lyrics for this one stupid.

Chris didn't write everything. He just wrote a majority.

  • oohhh. sorry. u dont have to be a bitch about it just bcuz i didnt know. and fyi smart one i wasnt just talking about this song. i was talking about all of the songs he writes. so now ur the "stupid" one.

  • That was a horrible retort.

You sound like a ten year old girl trying to come back from an insult from which there is no return.

Let me simple it up for you: Your comeback sucked. :D

  • um okay thanks...i hope saying that helped u feel better about urself because u obvioulsy dont have a comeback either if ur saying that my comeback sucked

oh yea and it wasnt a comeback, i was just saying what was true...

  • That was also horrible.

Go to school. Sounds like you needed to be educated not only in musical history but also in English.

You have to be smarter to understand my comeback. It was insinuating that your a dumbass.

Oh yeah and by the way SOUNDGARDEN RULES!! WHOOO! *Closest thing to a Cornell wail*

  • hmm. well maybe ur right, maybe i am a dumbass and your comeback was the best! now does that make you feel better that you said that to me? i hope it does, bcuz u obviously have nothing better to do than argue with a so called "ten year-old" that needs to go to school to learn about musical history...

my opinion is that overall ur a loser and u need to get a life. fucking cunt ...

okay now that was my comeback whats yours?

  • shut the fuck up both of you...idiots

  • Its A thousand doors a thousand lies

    Rooms a thousand years wide

He walks in the cold sun and wind

All these years will not begin

  • Room a Thousand Years Wide Fuuuuck man, the title alone !!! Chris is such a poet !!! Awesome !! A thousand goals A thousand lies Room's a thousand years wide I walk in the cold sun and wind All these years cannot begin ( yea, I mishear lyrics ) "I was slipping through the cracks of a stolen jewel" (Mind Riot - Badmotorfinger) Yo Chris, whaddaya think of that one !
  • @analbuttplug696969 kim wrote the lyrics

  • one of the most evil songs EVER.

  • did they make a song where they are clapping at the same time?

  • No but they made one where they are patting eachother on the ass. Or maybe not.

  • This is one of my favorite songs by my favorite band, Soundgarden.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time.

  • Definitely a masterpiece!

  • Cornell at his climax (one of the best) song of Soundgarden. I'm just stuck on this piece......
