Canceling When Multiplying Fractions

thanks mr.doug this is a true blessing for me.I can finally finish where i left off in 1993.My math skills are very weak in algebra,canceling and multiplying fractions,geometry,graphs,etc.

What if you have a problem like 5/6 + 12/5 x 8/9 = 11/6

??

Please answer quick!!

Cause when I use BEDMAS:

12/5 x 8/9 I can cancel out 12/9 but for 8/5 I can only cancel out 8.. what do I do?
