MMA's growth is more a product of the times than by anything special as far as the sport goes. Boxing has survived through the decades and thrived even during the Great Depression because of it's history and isn't going anywhere. MMA is doing it's thing but it'll never compare to Boxing when it comes to history and having been around through black and white television and a time when the only outlet in keeping up with some of these contests was through radio.
