Some say that it can be transformed into a superbug with 1-2 more genome sequences and that the receptor patterns are engineered. Then somehow. it came back in 2009. How do you think that SARS started. Spanish Flu disappeared after 1918. It was researched beginning in 1999: lung tissue from two dead army guys and one Alaskan Inuit woman. They finally put the virus together in 2005. (Check it out in the NY Times.) Now it shows up in the wild in 2008. Coincidence? Would it have just naturally reappeared after 90 years if they had not remade it in a lab?

It appeared in 1918, and it went away in 1920. It came in three waves. The first wave was relatively mild and not very lethal. The second wave was extremely lethal, and it became milder and petered out in 1920. It too was an A H1 N1 influenza virus. Just like today's Swine Flu, it affected and killed mostly children and young adults.
