  • Ford is making wonderful moves exactly at the rite time. The first great move is shifting the well know 'better' ford euro cars over to the states. Ditching the Mercury brand was great and im itching for the killing of the Lincoln brand as well. Mustang is easy, just as long as you keep it a mustang and not some crossover-everything mobile, NO 3,4door mustang NO suv mustang those ideas are NOT mustang at all, same as it doesnt work for corvette. Mustang is a sports car a GT grand tour'er.

  • Hmm...what interests me particularly was what he said at 1:10, mentioning "the next-gen Mondeo/Fusion".

Does this mean a common design/platform for the next generation of each model?

  • look at you wusses asking for the mustang to look like a porsche. if you want it to look like a porsche go buy a porsche. the mustang look should at least resemble the old style mustangs. the lacocca mustang is the best mustang ive ever seen, it looks exactly how a modern mustang should look

  • The original mustang was successful because it was a new idea amongst old ideas. And it sold like no other car since. So why do people think the best solution for a new take on an old idea is to keep the idea fresh an old!?

SURE i absolutly understand the fear in the new. but think of all the things we enjoy today if it were not for technology evolving, new ideas. The mustang is a great name and a great car, its time for it to evolve. Not to something else but to something more!.

  • My biggest gripe is how everyone's locked into one mode. Completly unwilling and unable to evolve or seek change. So many people talk about the classics of old, and wanting to keep things that way, but back in the day they were all about new automotive ideas. not really playing it safe.People speak of heritage in terms of..if it aint what perople first came to love than its not what the car should be. And yet people get made when products dont sell. Im all for improving, evolving not settling

  • Ive always said, Mustang needs to be more porsche like.

Sexier, Sleeker smaller exterior, larger interior focused on 2 passenger space simular to porsche also a suedo 4 seater), Loose the boxy proportions but keep cues (make those Cues truly functional ala side vents brake ducts etc) Lightweight, IRS, Overall smaller dash. Giorgo's mustang was definutly in the right direction. new lightweight drivetrain. think GTR. 50k price range.

serious bang for the buck. for near GTR performance.

  • @xevious2501 i absolutely love ur idea, and im sure i'll love whatever mustang they throw at us... but i think ford needs to stay more blue collar with it like they have been but kinda play on making it lighter and sleeker without giving up practicality... i'll bet any amount of money it's going to be some *serious* german competition in terms of styling and engineering, and it'll blow the japanese out of the water.

  • mustang needs to be smaller on the *exterior* , exotic Sleeker in design, more porsche like Loose the Boxy designs, functional! cues from the original mustang), IRS is a must!!!! the interior needs to be high-end but spacious focused on a 2 passengers not 4. Mustangs are NOT true 4 passenger cars!! consider a Porsche interior.. lightweight and simple. reduced volume dash, (less dash space more design) overall VERY lightweight. AND MOST important, it needs its own dedicated parts base.

  • pretty harsh rip there... there were a lot of very important Mustangs from 70-04 he really shouldnt have knocked that many cars (boss cars, cobra cars, cobra R cars, terminators, etc etc etc.) VERY interesting comments though... i hope that the Mustang isnt too darastically new and hope it is still tasteful.. I really hope its lighter and doesnt succum to this EPA Bullshit.

  • @DaBluedude100 Lighter!!! Amen. Performance cars weighing more than 3500 lbs is disgusting.

  • @eric1138 I wouldn't say that. But I prefer a lighter car. The 2011 5.0 is an awesome machine.

  • Very interesting comments on the Mustang.
