To possibly answer FawkWarnerMusicGroup as far as who mixed the two tracks together: There is one major clue I could provide to you--at the time of the song's popularity, a Long Island radio station [WBLI, 106.1 FM, licensed in Patchogue] played this version a handful of times, mostly on the weekends just before the dance mix programs.
