hey sorry for late reply in that time u probably have taken that ur right but no. anyways Comsats and Fast were semi government in the beginning but later fast is totally handed over to private. Also there are many small universities those are funded. Educational suggestions and research help were also given to them and HEC had a check on them. Also many students were sent abroad for Pd.Ds and bond were signed so that they will come back, this was done to increase PhDs people in Pakistan. cheers

Part III

Since the British coloncial rule, local bodies members could be controlled through the police and district administration.

The Constitution of 1962 did however allow politiclal activities and political parties. It was rejected by political parties and the public in general. IT WAS THEN, THAT HABIB JALIB (MAY GOD BLESS HIS SOUL) WROTE his 'SHURA E AFAQ" PEOM, REPRESENTING THE CONSCIENCE OF THE PEOPLE.

This propelled him to national stage. Please see Part IV

Part II

This procedure was called EBDO. (Not sure if it is spelled here correctly). Four years later, in 1962, Ayub Khan "promulgated" a Constitutiion which replaced the parliamentary regime provided by the very-difficultly-made Constitution of 1956 which Ayub Khan had "abroagated". The system of one man-one-vote was replaced by a system of "basic democracy" , an "electroal college" of some 62 K local bodies members to elect the president. It was done to control their votes. Thanks for your appreciation of Habib Jalib. This vido combines his relatively recent poetry with the one of his early poems which became extremely famous. If any one of you is interested,here is the part of the story I know :

Gen Ayub Khan imposed Martial law in 1958 and then, a short while later, became president.

All political parties were banned and, after some showy procedures, most politicians were declared ineligible to take part in political activites.
