  • THIS SONG RIGHT HERE......SUPER-SAD, BUT POWERFUL! Humanity still hasn't learned after all these years! That's why you have to be the best person you can be, so that you can be the "Light" for others....Thank you Jesus...xoxo

  • WOW the lyrics to this song had great meaning back then and still do to this day powerful song. EWF sanged this song with pure heart and soul

  • Incredible!!!

  • My mom was and still is a die hard EWF fan. She has passed many beautiful songs down to me and my sister Stephanie Bingham. We are now well in our fortys and still can feel every beat .

  • last days and times there is not much else to say except Lord help us

  • i really like EW&F, but this version doesn't work at all. it sounds like a parody of one of the most important songs.

  • This was the song growing up in the 70's . WHEN WILL THEY LEARN !! EARTH AND FIRE !

  • @MSHONEY720 AMEN 2 THAT SISTA

  • True that Mshoney720! Saw them in England with my girl that is my wife now of 32 years! what a show! Yes PEACE AND LOVE IS THERE MESSAGE AND WE TRULY COULD HAVE MORE OF THAT TODAY.

  • One of the best groups ever! No competition!

  • I agree 100%

  • They don't sound like themselves, LOL!

  • When I first heard this song in the 70's I swore this was the female in the group found out it was Phillip and was amazed!

  • @cleopatrabonz -- There was a female in the group

  • now this is CLASSICK EWF from when they began!

  • thats a wonderful song i just love me some phil he has a voice from god .

  • THANK GOD FOR MUSIC FOLKS LIKE US

  • EWF. I cannot thank you enough. Most serious group I worshipped and tried to get to Madison Square anytime they played there. I still play their music like it WUZ just 1969-70.

  • Where have all the Soldiers gone, gone to graveyards everyone.....When will they Ever Learn?.....Great Harmonies by one of the Great Groups of the 1970's....!

  • Where have all the Soldiers gone, gone to graveyards everyone.....

  • I love this song by the earth, wind and fire....Beautiful song it should be song in church....

  • thats what you call harmonizing.

  • This song more like something to prevent Vietnam war sadly it's happened it's so

haunting truth at the lyrics "Where have all the soldiers gone....long ago where have all the soldiers gone they gone to graveyard everyone.

This song may not about vietnam war but some of the lyrics are so ironic to vietnam war.

And near the end Philip Bailey does alot of tribute to it.

  • This song just makes my heart melt inside. This group could not be touched when they were in there prime.

  • This is an old EWF classic from 1972 from their debut Columbia Records LP "Last Days & Time" Pete Seeger , I think, wrote this

  • where have all the soldiers gone where have all the tax money gone long ago where have all the sanity gone where have all the rationality gone where have all the flowers gone bombs droppin one by one

  • The best version of this song although not the original.

  • Mshoney I agree with you 100% very well put God had to put that group together such great talent with the voices lyrics and music and what they were singing about

  • I have listened to them for hours on end back in the day. i can still do that today and remember every word. They don't make this kind of music anymore.

  • EARTH WIND & FIRE WOW!

  • sou do brasil mas amo esta banda tudo na musica deles faz vc revicer e pensar em alegria e amor na vida por isso quando estou meio dow ouço ewf e tudo parece renascer para o bem para mim obrigado ewf

  • EWF recorded this in 1972 on the "Last Days and Times album. It was a cover of a Vietnam-era anti-war song written by folk singer Pete Seeger.

  • EWF.....second to NONE!

  • REAL MUSIC! PERIOD!!!!1

  • lyrics that had meaning concerning the times.

  • You guys did it with this song. Dame I love this song it touch's my heart so.

  • where has all the TALENT (like this) gone?

  • THE MOST ORIGINAL GROUP STILL NOW, I MISS THOSE DAYS AND TIMES AND THEIR CONCERTS ESPECIALLY MAURICE

  • PEOPLE HAVE FAITH THEY HAVNT AWOKE YET!

  • Oh man, my song, from long ago! The best back in the day, from early on EWF.

  • Oh man, my song, from long ago!

  • Where have all the soldiers gone?

  • Timeless music, the music of my youth still my own now in middle age. Thanks all you singers, musicians and song writers....

  • Sorry, this version is an epic FAIL.

  • @RPenta I agree.

  • @RPenta I agree,young men dying just AINT funky !

  • No one could touch earth wind and Fire back then. These men can sang there ass off. to bad there is no talent like this out there anymore. Everybody's on crack now tearing up there voice. where is the good old love making song's at.

  • The 3 ppl who disliked should be reported to the authorities. EWF music still sounds goooood today. We say it a lot, but it is truly a darn shame some of the "stuff" made today, and it has a label of music. Just like our parents told us, this is real music. much luv 4 posting 112489!

  • It is nice to know how even a soul and R&B music group like EWF would do a song like this in remembrance to all our soldiers who fought and died for our freedoms in WWII. Today's R&B artists don't even have that kind of consciousness today.

  • One of the best groups of all times!!!!!!!

  • i love the songs that artists do that are not radio aired

  • EWF brings us joy in thier music. They are a force to recon with in the music industry. Simply the best!!

  • this is a remake of a protest song i believe, of that war. ewf is so amazing they are in their own league. kinda like a tribal sound. they really had strong messages in their music and i love them for it. times have changed but this song really still applies to our situations now. to me that is what music is all about

  • EWF, some of the most talented groups from the 70s. Music sounds even better today, then yesterday!!!!!!!

  • @GloRob65 cuz its more appreciated compared to the electric wasteland on the radio today

  • sweet tune bro love it :D

  • EWF so awesome with their message, LISTEN

  • i love this song because it reminds me of my brother& the war that we fight all the time!

  • Thank you 112489, this is one of my ultimate jams, besides Stevie Wonder! I love it!

Earth wind and FIRE is still the cure for musical drought!

  • i love this cut,i have an pile of their music, this is one of my favorites !

  • Thanx to my exhusband I fell in love with this album. Great then but even more relevant and Greater now.Listen to the lyric. We can save the flowers if we try. |Love you EWF-4ever. thanx for posting this

  • @54cookie1 Many of US fell in LOVE to THE MUSIC of EWF, they had the music down and the vocies JUST GAVE YOU THE CHILLS. tHE 70'S BANDS KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING! SINGING!!!! WITH PASSION!

  • this my shit!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the most fond album of EWF that was stolen...thanks for the post

  • A + I'd like to have every Earth W & Fire Album or CD

    Thanks for sharing

  • real sound

  • I cannot believe how powerful this song is 40 yrs later. I luv it. EWF was one of, if not the greatest, bands of the 70's! tx 4 posting love112489!

  • These groups from the 70's bring back memories of what you were doing back in the days! Listening to them is like reliving those moments, NOTHING will ever compare to these musicians! This music is TIMELESS!

  • the difference in this music and the music of today is the music of now is only for right now. Its real, but real changes tru music on the other hand is timeless. so i don't think they will speak of lil wayne 10 years from now let alone 20 because ppl will be on to the "new" thing. anyone who knows this music it will always be relevant to them and stand as a snap shot of a time and space in their lives. Long live tru music

  • it took them about 3 or 4 years for them to break big in record sales, that couldn't happen today

  • Burritrish I saw them twicw in Buffalo and once in Toronto....nothing compare to their live shows....spaceship and disappearing members plus music that I ended up loving to this day.....these people know nothing today...well most sell their soul instead of music

  • @jazzynlala ican agree on your points but they werent exactly perfect i mean to say these people know nothing today is going overboard the same thing we say about them they say bout us. they say that dinasaur music

  • I saw ewf in Philly in the 80's and it was the best concert I have ever seen even until this day. They disappeared in a spaceship. I was unbeliveable truely.

  • I have loved this version of this song since my teens, this is classic!!!

  • creative band, they're of my influences on guitar

  • i love this song i have them live on dvd singing this song back in 1982 in china it is the bomb

  • From their "Last Days in Time" album...great song

  • aww man this is my joint damn damn damn i been looking 4 this shit wooooooo

  • I've been looking for this song for a minute.First heard this when I was in N.J. Nothing like it, I love it. Thanks for the post.

  • aww man this is a really nice song :)

  • The first time I heard this song was when I watched my mother's tape of EWF in 1981. It was when Let's Groove was released and of course they only did half the song but in the beginning Reese came out and told the audience he was going to take them back to when the sidewalk was the stage and the streetlight was the spotlight. He, Ralph Johnson and Beloyd Taylor did the background and his vocals were so damn smooth. I was mesmerized by his coolness and smoothness. I love him to this day!!!

  • i first saw EWF at Hampton Inst. opening for War and Mandrill on the football field.EWF had Sherry Scott singing" I think about loving you" been hooked ever since.

  • I came to Hampton the next year and that concert was all they talked about. We had them for Homecoming them the next year. Remember how Larry dunn, the keyboardist would be hanging out on Ogden steps. Musical memories @ hampton were off the chain...for $10! We were lucky!

  • We did have it pretty darn sweet......DAS......Georgie Woods....Butterball...and Earth Wind and Fire.....nobody loved some EWF like us Philly peeps.........

  • We loved them here in DC too, and I agree they are in a league of their own. Damn this song brings back memories!!!

  • the plat aint like it used to be. Nothing these young knuckleheads can do can take it back to the 70's and 80's. Jean Carne "dont let it go to your head" Roy Ayers "running away" Wdas was the only station that would bang them songs on sat and sun. afternoon. these will never be the good ole days for our kids! sad...

  • oh yeah or at the belmont plateau listening to EWF........good philly memories.....

  • yes indeed, the plateau was tha joint.

  • nothing like sitting in fairmont park in philly on a summer day do a left hand and playing chess to classic like these man o man where have all the flowers gone last days and times wow soooooo deep

  • EWF!!!! My all time favorite group. I met the whole band in 1972 after their concert. Cost $2.00. Then I experienced them again in concert in 1976. The entire audience was extremely joyful and peaceful.

  • A young Phillip Bailey. Baddest brotha you ever want 2 c. Saw him in the flesh!!! 1970 something!!!!

  • R&B at it's best. Totally reworked cover. Amazing.

  • I remember this song from junior high school. They were the first group I knew to put the lyrics inside their album covers. This song to me is a deep soulful twist on a folk classic. This group and Rufus and Chaka Khan were my faves, did not have to hear the whole album if they had a new one I just bought it expecting to hear good songs and was not disappointed.

  • This was the album and the cut that signaled the group's coming out with a sound that was so profound that it was music to a soul and ears. The lyrics were so deep, you couldn't help but like them. And that starting lineup featured Ronnie Laws and Jessica Cleeves.

  • Jessica started with the friends of distiction..grazzing in th grass...circa 1969

  • EWF is the best that ever done it and i dare anyone to come up with a better band......

  • I agree 100%. But really I don't even put EW&F in the same category with any other band or group. They are in a place all by themselves!!! They were sent from God to spread messages of Love, Peace, and Unity. They are the epitome of spiritual, and their music allows one to be at peace with themselves and with the Universe.

  • @Mshoney720 AMEN!

  • Beautiful song, we share something rare in common... An extreme sense of good music, yes, yes, yes... love it odivinerose

  • Classic jam

  • My dear Love112, thank you for this posting. This is one of my alltime favorite cuts from EWF. The artistic album cover to this album, just blows me away everytime I see it. Can you imagine how much it's worth as a painting alone?

  • This was the cut that proved that EWF was here to stay. Taking a folk song and making it a soul classic

  • We've all heard it before; this is real music!!! Can you imagine in about 20 years people will be saying that about Jay-Zee, Lil' Wayne, etc...???

  • I feel you, Glo. can you imagine Jigga on an "Oldies" station? lol

  • No, OlaDaylax can't imagine. We are totally blessed to be able to reflect back on this music. This song is so awesome that if you were a child when it came out, makes you feel like you have memories, even if you don't.

  • Great that you can, almost, always finally find the songs you look for on Youtube and that there a still people loving this great music. Thanks for the upload. Made my day, Love.

Earth Wind and Fire, Maze Ft Frankie Beverly, Cutis Mayfield and all the others, wish they made them like this again.
