not bad, though I would've rendered a sphere with displacement modifiers (you can do that in any 3D program, including Blender) and rendered a normal pass which is then used for the raindrop particles since Particular supports textures for particles. Then, pre composed with a camera that has the exact same motion as the main comp's camera and then used normality to refract the normal particle system. This would give a perfect impression of water.
a question my good sir, if i may. after youv'e created your affect (adobe after effects im assuming,and trapcodes particular plug in) how did you transfer it onto your footage? i cant get mine to switch over. it always stays on the black canvas backround. any help would be appreciated. thanks
the drop speed is fine but when you zoom in at the drop of what ever it is(it is water right?) you need to make it more of a drop then a ball

when you export, choose RGB+Alpha (and make sure you have no background solids in your comp).
It will render transparency wherever there is transparency in the composition.

looks nice but the rain drop is circle if u morph it a bit you'll get a much better looking rain drop
