  • Whas The Limit from Holland?

  • Excellent track, slightly different production to the one I listen to often, but its great to see that Judge Reinhold's got the funk.

  • Yes man big tune

  • Gwen Guthrie....Love her voice!!

  • he can't dance but at least he can do a good video and sing a good song, lol

  • Ok; how were these guys so so sooo FUNKY!!!

  • Come on !!! When will they invent time machine.....I WANNA GO BACK

  • That's Haywood isn't she sang a song called Roses me think's this song sounds just as good now as it did back then must rewind and have a boogie.

  • The best disco track on the dancefloor in my time.

  • Ah that is Haywood up there with the guys. She had a few good hits back then too

  • Still got mine on 12". This was the whip back in the day. Some might be surprised by these Dutch guys, but music is music and does not matter who is singing as long as it's good, and this is good. Great post, thank you

  • Fantastic Tune, used to have it large to this one, thanks for uploading.

  • Its all good. Great 80s innocence.

  • wicked blast from the past, used to go mad to this tune, and OMG yes they are white and i never knew, hahah.

  • Please take me back to the good ole days...............................................Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. xxx

  • Please take me back to the good ole days...............................................Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. xxx

  • Just lovely ,man!

  • OMG there WHITE HAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!

  • OMG there WHITE HAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!

  • Amazing song. Female vocals where provided by the late Gwen Guthrie.

  • love this jam

  • awesome

  • Great vocals for a caucasian, normally afro carribean artists have soulful vocals but this dude is not far off. Same with Rick Astley, was surprised to find out he was a white singer! Songs like these would be lost in time if it wasnt for YOUTUBE!

  • GWEN GUTRIE, CRISTAL CLEAR I LOVE IT!!!!

  • loving this.

  • The lady's voice is GWEN GUTHRIE, not the one on the video

  • timeless disco-funk

    @lb4rb1

actually, this is a Dutch production of Jochem Fluitsma en Eric van Tijn

(Dolly Dots, Henk Westbroek, Mai Tai, Guus Meeuwis, Hind)

Eric is best known as a jury member in the Dutch Idols

  • @alec63 Not true. Fluitsma & Van Tijn have nothing to do with this song, they did with a lot of songs from those days but not this one. Bernard Oattes & Rob van Schaik wrote and produced this one themselves.

  • @downjones72

    you're absolutely right

    must have mixed things up

    thanks for your correction!

  • UK 80's soul at its magnificent best. Another 12" single that nevr stops being played loud in this house. Can't beat the era for soul/funk - BRING IT BACK!

  • Wow this music is good ..it goes right to your soul..80s music is the best..the beat was just unbelievable...

  • A classic good times

  • Sweden here...

Where are thiis kind of music ?

  • loved sharon haywoode back in the day!

  • Musica maravilhosa, espetacular...!!!

  • Soul Knows No Color Barrier. You either have it or not.

  • i loved this song so much that i would hardly listened to it so i woul'nt get tired of it. Then i lost th 12 inch and couln't remember the group, thank u for postin, what memories it brings

  • the female singer in this video is haywoode who had a hit with roses etc

  • Still got my album. What an album. I used to blare this album out all the time. I'm sure i turned my mum into a funker lol. HOw sweet love can be..................... Tuneage! And when I got, Pop, Pop! Wooooooooooooooo. I miss the old days. Big up me Sth Ldn crew!

  • No Brit-funk. This was an all Dutch production. The Limit was a 1980s musical group composed of Dutch producers Bernard Oattes and Rob Van Schalk. They released a full-length album in 1984, which yielded the hit "Say Yeah". The song peaked at #17 on the UK Singles Chart[1] and at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Dance/Club Play chart.

The lady in the video is not the actual singer. That was late Gwen Guthrie

  • u mean 1985 album

  • Great song - didn't realise that this was the Brit Funk 'tail-end' (although they would, I'm sure, hate to be labelled with this...). I say that, but I do remember Robbie Vincent proclaiming that this was a " hot, hot American mix" on one of his shows and the Americans did not do Brit-funk....

  • Look at how wonderfully slim everyone was back in 1982! Why has the world become so fat?

  • @baronberners Micky D's have expanded with a couple of thousand restaurants all over the world since then XD

  • good tune

  • Really, so many, many many memories! I remember this powerfull tune =)

  • It's not about black or white, its about having soul and these guys have it in droves.

  • gran tema soft que la verdad cuesta encontrar desde aqui ARGENTINA

  • Love this tune! So many memories! How sweet love can be, i do, i do, still love u. Wicked album! Still feelin' it badly.

  • BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE!! Amazing Artist, THANK YOU For This Classic Music Video. If Only Music Could Be This GOOOD Again...... -_^

  • it took me a second or two--but I remember these guys! they RIPPED!

  • いつ聴いてもいい曲だわ!

  • good music is timless !!!

    great hook and bassline !!

  • The sweetest Baseline....Thats why I snagged this 12"

  • wooow it was my time,,,,,,jepp sehr gut....:)

  • Truely a BRILLIANT track. Definitly worth a 5*!

  • What a song i have heard. It is a pleasure to hear it again. Thank you so much.

  • I miss music like this!! I HATE rock music and any music with guitars!!

  • I miss songs like this, I cannot stand rap music.

  • @fringbenefit rap music AKA Crap music, IS and WAS a BIG punishment for the society and music industry, they are to blame for the misery they brought to this world so far. i respect the old school rap like Grand Master Flash The Message or Rapper's Delight etc... but not the modern crap. Again, it's not RAP it's CRAP.

  • désolé c'est bien haywoode et non guthrie malgré que ce soit elle qui chante sur le single....

  • Yeah, the guy is Rob van Schaik and the keyboard guy is Bernard Oattes. Their next hits were done under the Oattes Van Schaik name. Probably the fattest shit ever to come out of Holland.

  • One of my favorite songs from this era...cant believe this guy is WHITE...I always had him down as a black guy! wtf...lol

  • You know,me too,he sounded so black,i couldn't believe my eyes. LOL

  • his voice is too soft and smooth to be black - i much prefer this smooth vocal than the heavy black soully type of vocal - i hate that type. top tune!.

  • @Jay1898 U ALMOST SOUND RACIST--FYI- LUTHER VANDROSS AND MANY OTHER BLACK SINGERS WERE SMOOTH!!!

  • @malefti - dont take it personal - was not meant to be racist at all, just a personal preference. vandross and some other black singers have a very deep voice - although it can be smooth - i dont like that really deep, lungy type of voice. i like smooth vocals like this - top tune - non blacks in general dont have that deep voice. however - i love some of the music by the sos band (who are black) and it is similar to this smooth vibe. hence it is not a question of race but vocals....

  • It's a pity that Gwen Guthrie was not in this video though...:( Not sure who that chick was lipsynching her part.

  • The girl Lipsynching is British artist Haywoode, she had a massive hit in 1985 with roses, plus many other tracks, shes got loads of uploads on youtube.

  • C'est Gwen Guthrie la chanteuse :-)

  • Fantastic song.I want all of their song.

  • cancer from aids!

  • this guys are sick, so coooool

  • Wicked Tune. What happened to these guys?

  • Hi Paul

I love this group and I have been searching their tracks for a long time. It is so sad to hear this group has split years ago. I grew up in the 80's. I am still looking for their tracks like Miracles, Everything about you and other tracks from the Love attaxx album. Would someone share these tracks with me if they have them?

    Thanks a million.

    Shereen

  • The 80s was packed with great music. I love this track.

  • Gwen Guthrie sings the Part on vocal, we miss you!

Gwen die in 10 years ago on AIDS!

This Girl in the Clip is NOT Gwen Guthtrie!!!

  • The girl in the clip I think is Haywoode, who had a hit in the UK with a track called Roses.

  • Yes this is Haywoode, now i remember!

Fantastic Track one of my alltime favorite dance tune!! And not from the states!!! From the Nederland!!!!!!!!! :-)))

  • C'est Gwen Guthrie la chanteuse :-)

  • Yes, divine, thank you very much! I love Rob Van Scheik!

  • This takes me back, great tune from back in the day! Love the dancing.
