Still got mine on 12". This was the whip back in the day. Some might be surprised by these Dutch guys, but music is music and does not matter who is singing as long as it's good, and this is good. Great post, thank you

Great vocals for a caucasian, normally afro carribean artists have soulful vocals but this dude is not far off. Same with Rick Astley, was surprised to find out he was a white singer! Songs like these would be lost in time if it wasnt for YOUTUBE!
@alec63 Not true. Fluitsma & Van Tijn have nothing to do with this song, they did with a lot of songs from those days but not this one. Bernard Oattes & Rob van Schaik wrote and produced this one themselves.
UK 80's soul at its magnificent best. Another 12" single that nevr stops being played loud in this house. Can't beat the era for soul/funk - BRING IT BACK!
i loved this song so much that i would hardly listened to it so i woul'nt get tired of it. Then i lost th 12 inch and couln't remember the group, thank u for postin, what memories it brings
Still got my album. What an album. I used to blare this album out all the time. I'm sure i turned my mum into a funker lol. HOw sweet love can be..................... Tuneage! And when I got, Pop, Pop! Wooooooooooooooo. I miss the old days. Big up me Sth Ldn crew!
No Brit-funk. This was an all Dutch production. The Limit was a 1980s musical group composed of Dutch producers Bernard Oattes and Rob Van Schalk. They released a full-length album in 1984, which yielded the hit "Say Yeah". The song peaked at #17 on the UK Singles Chart[1] and at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Dance/Club Play chart.
The lady in the video is not the actual singer. That was late Gwen Guthrie
Great song - didn't realise that this was the Brit Funk 'tail-end' (although they would, I'm sure, hate to be labelled with this...). I say that, but I do remember Robbie Vincent proclaiming that this was a " hot, hot American mix" on one of his shows and the Americans did not do Brit-funk....
@fringbenefit rap music AKA Crap music, IS and WAS a BIG punishment for the society and music industry, they are to blame for the misery they brought to this world so far. i respect the old school rap like Grand Master Flash The Message or Rapper's Delight etc... but not the modern crap. Again, it's not RAP it's CRAP.
Yeah, the guy is Rob van Schaik and the keyboard guy is Bernard Oattes. Their next hits were done under the Oattes Van Schaik name. Probably the fattest shit ever to come out of Holland.
his voice is too soft and smooth to be black - i much prefer this smooth vocal than the heavy black soully type of vocal - i hate that type. top tune!.
@malefti - dont take it personal - was not meant to be racist at all, just a personal preference. vandross and some other black singers have a very deep voice - although it can be smooth - i dont like that really deep, lungy type of voice. i like smooth vocals like this - top tune - non blacks in general dont have that deep voice. however - i love some of the music by the sos band (who are black) and it is similar to this smooth vibe. hence it is not a question of race but vocals....
The girl Lipsynching is British artist Haywoode, she had a massive hit in 1985 with roses, plus many other tracks, shes got loads of uploads on youtube.
I love this group and I have been searching their tracks for a long time. It is so sad to hear this group has split years ago. I grew up in the 80's. I am still looking for their tracks like Miracles, Everything about you and other tracks from the Love attaxx album. Would someone share these tracks with me if they have them?

timeless disco-funk
@lb4rb1
actually, this is a Dutch production of Jochem Fluitsma en Eric van Tijn
(Dolly Dots, Henk Westbroek, Mai Tai, Guus Meeuwis, Hind)
Eric is best known as a jury member in the Dutch Idols
