I wish atheists would start answering "well what do you think happens after you die" properly. There's an actual, correct answer to that. Maybe not the most exciting answer, but there is one. I love Ricky Gervais even though I am not an atheist. Its all about mutual respect between all beliefs or ideas. The one thing I disagree with is what he said about creation. I don't think many Christians still believe in the creation story of earth being formed in 6 days. I don't really believe much of anything in the old testament. I just believe in a higher power, not organized religion. The idea of a God is an amazing mystery that will never be solved by science or religion.

@Wrathmont313 IDK. The old testament was created by authors who were trying to explain their surrounding environment. The story of Adam and eve was conjured up by people who lived in a harsh climate. Therefore, they assume that there must have been a paradise that once existed. It was an ancient investigation of "why do we live such uncomfortable lives?" God is transcendent. God never made up the words God, religion, time, or space. These are just the byproducts of human free-will.

However, I think that is the main point of atheism. I don't believe in a god because there is overwhelming evidence, to me, to the contrary. @PremiumNetwork You are a simpleton my friend. If you look at the world around you and say that it must have been created you must be insane. Has your god ever answered your prayers, spoken to you, or done anything to show himself? Plus you read a book that makes no sense historically and say it's the "word of god". This word of god contradicts itself hundreds of times and is more violent then GTA in book form. Religion is a sick institution that needs to be stopped in my opinion.

AS an atheist ricky has been my idol for a while now. Living in America is terrible for us atheist and he made my year at the golden globes with that comment. Im sick of the phony people looking up at the sky and thanking " god" ( as if they know that he she it lives in the sky) and an atheist can't talk about his non beliefs and reasons for not believing.

@stomperfood I am an atheist as well, but I feel that everyone is entitled to there opinion. Living in America for me is fantastic because I can believe what I want, unlike many countries
