  • im wondering a few things...if i got this i'd be trying to run it with my macbook through Logic...can i use this to control komplete? because that's my setup

  • yo im kinda new to this whole thing so dont hate on me. but does the lpd 8 come with a particular program? does it come with a keyboard or do you have to pay extra for that? and what is the average price for it>?

  • What are drum pads for???

  • Comment removed

  • @SourMoonBlues are you trolling? he used abelton in the video with it.

  • What music-making programs should I use for a PC if i get one of these? Please help, thanks!

  • @XxBboyAyehxX

if you are just starting out and you have no Midi Controllers (example: keyboards, DrumPads, Mixers) you might want to use FruityLoops. Now if you are a musician and can play music you might want to use REASON and a midi controller of your choosing. Really, its all about what you want to do.

  • cai i make this to work whit tracktor and BEHRINGER BCD3000 ?

  • Can you assign a wav file or MP3 file to any of the eight pads?

For example...the sound of someone laughing, a speeding car, a huge audience applause etc etc...

I would buy one of these but only if I can add my own sounds to it.

  • Awesome man! Pro playing with it too

  • 2:00 sounds like Mirrors ft. Bun B - Wale

  • COPIEDE FROM THE AKAIPROS OFFICIAL YOUTUBE ACCOUNT!

  • in reason 4 drum machine there are 10 channels for 10 different drum samples . this pad only has 8. I guess i should buy a midi keyboard instead?

  • Damn im bout to get one of these and for only $70 on ebay a steal. The beat he makes is just amazing.

  • @danglers7th Guitar Center had them for $39 three days ago.

  • its truly amazing, i just bought one, and testing it with cubase, but so far i only get 8 sounds or notes, i cant change instruments and the knobs do nothing :S

  • @backstab86

The 8 assignable knobs send midi CC# They are plug-and-play as long as your computer's MIDI functions are working properly.

  • Curious question. Would it work for Virtual DJ? Im a vdj user. :p

  • cool

  • hey I had a question about this, surely only having 8 pads is a bit annoying, as I guess that's only 4 cue points you can trigger per turntable and serato can save ...or is there up to 8 pads you can use per turntable? thx

  • Does this work with propellerheads Reason?

  • @Josour17

I am pretty sure it does.

  • @7sick0Productions Is it possible to use the knobs vor controlling the sliders in the cubase mixer?

  • @Josour17 it does i use it!

  • Can this be used with Garage Band?

  • How are the sensitivity on the pads?

  • I want this but my nano pad has 12 pads idk if i can reduce to 8

  • lol Eric McGregor works at ion Audio as well

  • do u need a laptop to use it?

  • IS it better than nano pad?

  • how much did he say it cost or did he?

  • @coaly13 It's about $65, I just bought one the other day :)

  • is korg nanopad better??

  • I can't decide. korg nano pad or akai lpd8? ^^

    damn

  • @YklausK korg nanao pad.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy better...i've had both and the korg blows this one out by a looooooooooooooooooooong shot.

  • @YklausK seems like theres a huge controversy over those two!

  • This can be used as a sampler, no?

  • Can i use this with virtual dj?

  • I can get this device for aprox. 55 bucks. Should I do it? Please help!

  • @Pencil747 yes, great for the price, but i'd consider it more of a toy then to actually do profesional stuff with it.

  • ANYone used this with Reason 4? the only lpd8 videos with Reason are all in German for some reason haha

  • how do you assign sounds to the pads? any good free software?

  • i just fell in love

  • if i have the akai xr20 can i use both together ......if so how?

  • Is this thing usefull as a Dj Controlling device for using in Virtual Dj or Traktor? If not, What is better around the $100 price range for dj controlling?

  • @sjoerd765 yes, but use it for like effects or cue points, use a real dj controller like the mixtrack for actually dj'ing, use this as cue setter or something.

  • mine doesn't work!

  • did it work with ableton?

  • @96mrjulius of course

  • this fucking guy is such a douche

  • I use in FL with the FPC as well. Works great.

  • do you have to buy the $400 ableton live for it to work?

  • @funnyoscar Nah it will work with almost any DAW programs that support ASIO divers, even The Reaper, which is free.

  • Do you think this could work as a sampler, with Virtual DJ, and a DJ Control e2?

Or would i need another program?

  • hi i have a big problem i am using logic express 9 and ezdrummer i cant seem to get the lpd8 to recognise any presets it always says upload failed??? help??

  • just bought one from sweetwater and am thoroughly stoked.

  • does it works with rebirth?

  • someone know a good alternative with 16 keys ??

  • can anyone help me use this with serato?

  • Giving the Korg Nano series a run for its money.

  • how do you add effects to the knobs?

  • I got one of these to my birthday, along with the Akai LPK25.

I never really understood the point of MIDI controllers. Is it just for triggering samples?

  • @KanuttePIKK yes sir.

  • @KanuttePIKK

you should know something BEFORE buying.... no...it's not just for triggering samples. it is made to controlle what ever u want to within your software or DAW

  • @TheNonWho well i did not really buy this my self, as i said, I got this for my birthday. :P

  • @KanuttePIKK u usually never get something wothout a reason.

i got my MPD 26 Pro for birthday which is at sunday :)

  • @TheNonWho I wanted the Korg NanoKEY for my birthday, and when my dad came in with presents on my bday, i got the Akai LPK25 and the LPD8. :p

  • will this work for a regular computer..i dont have a laptop

  • This work with Logic 9?

  • @djbadioandsimy

    why not?

  • i use it with serato when i dj, and i love it!

  • gay!

  • Will it work on my imac 27 Inch?

  • does this work with logic pro 8? if it does, is there a tutorial on how to make it work?

  • Is it possible to make the pads trigger loops in FL Studio? I haven't been able to figure out how.

  • @nithelmusic Fl Studio? What a loser. Grow up to some big boy stuff you baby. See if you can hang with someone who makes beats in reason or cubase. Chump

  • @youngtrigatherealest I know a couple of professional producers who uses FL Studio. Actually I find reason extremely limited, and you can always hear if something is made in reason. However, when talking about DAW's that can run VST and hardware, if you think it's about the DAW you're sadly mistaken. I could use Cubase, but now I've grown custom to FL Studio.

Why do you believe FL Studio can't keep up with any other DAW, using the same plugins and hardware?

  • @youngtrigatherealest k fl studio is one of the most popular music programs in the world and you can create music with it not just record it. Cubase is great if all u need is the sampler to make your beats. cz cubase u can record anything but fl studio does the same, but fl studio has alot of synth creators and that kind of stuff.

  • EXTREME PORTABILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • QUESTION: should I get an both LPD8 (pads) and lpk25 (keys) OR just the

MPK25 (has both keys and pads) I'm not too worried about portability, more about usability. I'll probably run Reason.

  • definately gettin one or two o doze ;P

  • fucking jerks could'nt put note repeat on this.

  • @SIGNATURESOUNDZ

you should be able to configure that in your DAW

  • Well that settles it, I'm buying one

I have some questions though.... Does it come with ableton pro? Can you record beats and music you make? Can you use it with Traktor 3 or Traktor Pro? if so, can you set cue points in the song?

  • @KingCaliente you have to buy the softwares seperatly. i reccomend ableton live 8, very good

  • i use it with the fpc on fl studio

  • FL Studio? wow, how does it run? No Delay?

  • @7sick0Productions Asio4all ;)

  • @7sick0Productions its just a question of the right sound card

  • @7sick0Productions You should know that it's impossible to have "no delay" on any DAW, but it can get pretty low with FL Studio.

All you need is a sound card that's ASIO compliant, and most are. Crank up the sampling rate as high as you can without problems. Mine maxed out at 192khz. Lower the sample buffer as low as you can get it without audible clicks or pops. Mine was 768 samples. I have a 4ms delay! That's pretty much non-existent!

  • @7sick0Productions Obviously In the FL studio Setings

  • i recieve absolutely no delay what can be the latency problem can be the buffer setting allow ppl max theres out to eliminate the crackle sound from fl lower it less than midway and no latency

  • @chelobaby21 do you know how to use the knobs too? lol cuz when I use FPC i can't seem to put any effect on the knobs. Is it not compatible or something? The pads work great on FPC though.

  • Will it run okay with my PC, if I am using FL Studio 9 and an ASIO driver, with a 2GHz processor and 512 megs of ram?

  • It should run Ok...the Ram is a lil low...try it out and let me know...

  • @odaxelagniaproject - try to max out your ram if you can. It really makes a different.

  • Hi there can someone help me...I'm using Reason 3 with the LPD8. In Preferences -> Does the LPD8 appear as an installed AkAI device? I had to manually set mine up as an 'other' device. I cant get the AKAI to trigger any sounds in reason. The Editor is set as: PAD1: Note=C1, CC=0 PC=0. Any help would be great, thanks.

  • cant we do all thsi stuff in the lpk 25 ?

  • could i map pads to certain clips and use this to launch clips and use the knobs for effects while playing live??

  • take a look!

i use the the lpd 8 with ableton

    watch?v=Er7nc0JJRLc

  • as a midi controller its good, but to make real beats i prefer a MPC!

  • No doubt I feel the same but, you gotta see all the possibilities when using Controllers....its just another option for someone that cant buy a $2,000 dollar mpc.

  • @7sick0Productions Whats a MPC?

  • does it work for mixcraft 4.1

  • @donndp Since MixCraft is a VST host, and accepts MIDI input and output, yes, this controller would work with it... It's a sweet little controller, small, portable, durable...

  • ive been waiting for something like that ...

its not very important but: are the knobs replaceable? they look kinda short... 0,5 centimeters more would be great

  • can i use this pad with torq dj software ? get me back plz

  • as long as its midi compatible, yes!
