also, is there like a tempo knob like on the microkorg that changes the tempo of the samples and makes em all trippy? im a noob to this stuff and desperately trying to learn
im wondering a few things...if i got this i'd be trying to run it with my macbook through Logic...can i use this to control komplete? because that's my setup
yo im kinda new to this whole thing so dont hate on me. but does the lpd 8 come with a particular program? does it come with a keyboard or do you have to pay extra for that? and what is the average price for it>?
if you are just starting out and you have no Midi Controllers (example: keyboards, DrumPads, Mixers) you might want to use FruityLoops. Now if you are a musician and can play music you might want to use REASON and a midi controller of your choosing. Really, its all about what you want to do.
its truly amazing, i just bought one, and testing it with cubase, but so far i only get 8 sounds or notes, i cant change instruments and the knobs do nothing :S
hey I had a question about this, surely only having 8 pads is a bit annoying, as I guess that's only 4 cue points you can trigger per turntable and serato can save ...or is there up to 8 pads you can use per turntable? thx
Is this thing usefull as a Dj Controlling device for using in Virtual Dj or Traktor? If not, What is better around the $100 price range for dj controlling?
@sjoerd765 yes, but use it for like effects or cue points, use a real dj controller like the mixtrack for actually dj'ing, use this as cue setter or something.
hi i have a big problem i am using logic express 9 and ezdrummer i cant seem to get the lpd8 to recognise any presets it always says upload failed??? help??
you should know something BEFORE buying.... no...it's not just for triggering samples. it is made to controlle what ever u want to within your software or DAW
@nithelmusic Fl Studio? What a loser. Grow up to some big boy stuff you baby. See if you can hang with someone who makes beats in reason or cubase. Chump
@youngtrigatherealest I know a couple of professional producers who uses FL Studio. Actually I find reason extremely limited, and you can always hear if something is made in reason. However, when talking about DAW's that can run VST and hardware, if you think it's about the DAW you're sadly mistaken. I could use Cubase, but now I've grown custom to FL Studio.
Why do you believe FL Studio can't keep up with any other DAW, using the same plugins and hardware?
@youngtrigatherealest k fl studio is one of the most popular music programs in the world and you can create music with it not just record it. Cubase is great if all u need is the sampler to make your beats. cz cubase u can record anything but fl studio does the same, but fl studio has alot of synth creators and that kind of stuff.
I have some questions though.... Does it come with ableton pro? Can you record beats and music you make? Can you use it with Traktor 3 or Traktor Pro? if so, can you set cue points in the song?
@7sick0Productions You should know that it's impossible to have "no delay" on any DAW, but it can get pretty low with FL Studio.
All you need is a sound card that's ASIO compliant, and most are. Crank up the sampling rate as high as you can without problems. Mine maxed out at 192khz. Lower the sample buffer as low as you can get it without audible clicks or pops. Mine was 768 samples. I have a 4ms delay! That's pretty much non-existent!
i recieve absolutely no delay what can be the latency problem can be the buffer setting allow ppl max theres out to eliminate the crackle sound from fl lower it less than midway and no latency
@chelobaby21 do you know how to use the knobs too? lol cuz when I use FPC i can't seem to put any effect on the knobs. Is it not compatible or something? The pads work great on FPC though.
Hi there can someone help me...I'm using Reason 3 with the LPD8. In Preferences -> Does the LPD8 appear as an installed AkAI device? I had to manually set mine up as an 'other' device. I cant get the AKAI to trigger any sounds in reason. The Editor is set as: PAD1: Note=C1, CC=0 PC=0. Any help would be great, thanks.
No doubt I feel the same but, you gotta see all the possibilities when using Controllers....its just another option for someone that cant buy a $2,000 dollar mpc.
@donndp Since MixCraft is a VST host, and accepts MIDI input and output, yes, this controller would work with it... It's a sweet little controller, small, portable, durable...
It's kind of missleasing when it says "laptop pad controller". Does this mean that it's for laptops only or for every kind of computer?

Can you assign a wav file or MP3 file to any of the eight pads?
For example...the sound of someone laughing, a speeding car, a huge audience applause etc etc...
I would buy one of these but only if I can add my own sounds to it.
