High and Low horizons always seem the opposite to me. (depending on content) But usually the low horizon make it seem I'm way up high looking down at something. Or looking "up" to the high line. Just an interesting thought about how different people interpret things.

I love how you just showed those really simple concepts of layout. It never occurred to me! One of my BIGGEST inhibitions is feeling like the page is so BIG (even though I only work on A5 hehe) and empty and where do I start. I'm going to try and work with one of those layout ideas on my next page and hopefully not feel so intimidated because I'll have a point to focus on!

what is a crucifix horizon??

both horizon lines and the crucifix are different types of layouts. A horizon line is a line that goes straight across your page, and you work in the two areas separated by the line. a crucifix is a cross - and you work in each of the squares the cross makes. Does that make more sense?

The page is where you start and where ever you put your horizon line. It's what you decide. Then again one may section areas off or start with shapes instead. Maybe these varies objects you put onto paper are symbolic of your morals perhaps. But what ever you decide in your life. It will always be your decision in the end. We are all like that as well.

Oh! And I forgot to ask, were you melting wax over the crayon drawing or were you like, melting the crayon wax itself? I couldn't tell.

I ran the iron over the crayon to mush it a bit. I dont always like to do that because it looses depth (from shading) and mixes all the colors together - but its a nice effect sometimes. Try it.
