At 3:12 on the video, White should have moved Ne4 to Nf6 and check instead of Qd7!! this way white captures the castle at e8!!!
Then the game is piece of cake for white no matter where the king moves!! Night keeps checking the king and taking piece after peace, the rook, the bishop, a pawn until it reaches the black queen too!! or check made very quickly!!
I couldn´t beleave my eyes with white´s Queen´s move!!!
I couldn´t beleave my eyes with white´s Queen´s move!!!
@VitalSigns1 not sure about nd6 because d3! might be irritating. If Bxd3 then rxe1+ gets out of the fork and white is in less dominant position. If Qxd3 then Bf5 and the psn is getting really messy. if black just takes the rook like nxe8 then dxe2 and after Qxd7 exd1/Q wins for black. Safer and stronger to just take the pawn on d4.
@TrollzZor its called castling, wen the king hops 2 spaces towards the rook and the rook hops over the king 1 space, its only playable if the king has not been checked in the game yet, and both pieces (rook &king) have not moved at all.. mostly used too get yur rooks in line or too get it out in the battle(:
I was amazed when i got ribka and went over old grandmaster games. Many so-called winning attacks in games chose the wrong path in defence and could have rebuffed the attack and in others draws were to be had. What games? They are too numerous to mention here but it proves the point that to become a great player you have to be able to obtain at least 40% against the strong computers.
can we have some comentary... god damn wtf, i want to watch a video to see it analyzed and see alternate lines etc not to see the moves I can find the games myself if i wanted them like this
@SRDTL it's called criticism. If he takes my advice his channel will be better and get more views, which is good for him and if he does start doing commentary and analysis then it will be better for the viewers as we will learn more... What kind of a moron are you, giving me the options of like it or leave? No we have this thing to leave comments to help each other out, granted I was probably upset when I wrote that but I still gave good advice to the guy
@SRDTL yes, if you disregard the language used and you took the message you'd see it made sense and was helpful; people don't like to watch videos just to see the moves, they like to see alternate lines and analysis etc etc
@snkhuong the threats being promoted by White (N-Q6 attacking two pawns) takes away any pawn advantage already achieved. I think if you look again, you'll see that Black has lost his attack advantage, and is a solid piece down. Oh well. Magnus is young, yet. I doubt his time is done.
@VitalSigns1 At 2:56 Nd6 It is not really a bad move and is perfectly playable , but Bxd4 it's better . It would be very long to explain all variants , but if you have a good chess program you can verify that Bxd4 is the right move in this position .
@ItzoSpain Could you tell me a good chess program I could use to analyze moves? I'd love to see what I could have done better in my games vs people online.
@VitalSigns1 Because this game is too complex for you to understand. They are thinking in long term. If you knew the answer you would have over 2600 chess rating in your notebook. If they would play your way, they would have lost. Just try a chess game and play against the computer at 2600 rating, you'll lose before you have time to sneeze.
@Databamse You didn't answer my question. I'm aware that this game is too complex for me; I'm sort of new to chess. I want to know why my suggestion wasn't a good move. If you can't answer the question sufficiently, don't answer at all.
Because bxd4 wins more material. your suggestion nd6 wins a rock for a night. but the move bxd5 threats nf6+ or even better he threats to play bxg7-kxg7-dxd7! and he wins a plain bishop witch is alot better. So carlsen chose to play nxd4 instead of letting this happend. but as you saw he still lost his bishop and that is a lot better for white than a rock for a knight
@TheSchandorff So then why didn't black move his bishop out of the way when he had a chance at 3:07?? Perhaps it's not worth my time trying to analyze a GM chess game...I don't know if my mind is capable of grasping it
say black plays Re7 to defend the bishop, then comes Nf6+, winning the bishop anyway, and if black plays Rc7 then comes Ng6+ again, picking up either a full piece or the exchange.
moving the bishop away obviously also just loses the exchange to either Nf6+ or Nd6.
@IpMan19 It is very simple ... "X vs Y 1-0" means that X plays with white and Y with black and X win ... In this game Kasparov played with white and Carlsen with black and Kasparov wins .
@MoPar7055 Carlsen is actually in a losing position with a piece down , after Re3 black plays ... b5 , Be5 Ng5 , Rd3 a5? , Rd2 Rb1+? , Kg2 Ne3+ , Kh3 Rf1 , f4 , etc , etc ... And unless Kasparov makes a serious error (which is unlikely) he wins the game without too many complications . Thank you for your interest! Best Regards !
@IpMan19 Agreed, which is the young genius, and which is the old stick in the mud, do you expect us to know by their style of play. And did someone quit, because I saw a few moves that could have been played out .......... to the death of one player or the other.
Hello Magnus , you didnt beat the - WORLD - you beat - ONLY 3 GM - with over 100 elo less than you have. Against the WORLD with the normal PC-Hardware and Stockfish 1.8 - or better Rybka-4-Software at home you cant win. The WORLD knows that your BOXING-show was only a DECEPTION. You say in your clip : Can YOU beat me
After Kf6+ Kh8 (and not...Kg7 because of Kxe8++ or ...Kf8 because of Kxh7+) Both Knight f6 and Queen d4 are under attack. For example after Qxd7, Black can take the knight by playing ...Qxf6.
So the move played by Kasparov (Qxd7 winning the bishop) is more simple and effective (and first of all, it's the only move I can understand of the whole game !!)
I'm French so please excuse me if my English is not correct.
@jpdrummer07 N to f6 would have responded with king to G7 forcing the queen to move to stop the black knight capture. if queen take bishop here then black queen takes the knight leaving the position at even material, which white has anticipated as he takes the bishop instead of checking
@MCkillU It's got to be more complicated than that, because if Kg7 white has Nxe8 with a double check. I think Kasparov may have just taken the simpler path, since he was winning anyway?
how many times have they played against each other? !?? :O
