You DIDN'T NEED MICKEY. If you were using EXP0, you wouldn't have gained EXP in the first place.

@mikeguitar41 Using Mickey here was not about avoiding experience. It was because I just could not handle those regular enemies for the life of me, so I had him take care of them.

How do you get Critical Mode in KH2?

Critical Mode is the hardest difficulty setting in the Japan-only Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. It is unlocked automatically, you don't have to do anything special.
