  • Each to their own, but for me Round Dances are cued, just as Squared Dances are called.

    It's one of the things I really like about Round Dancing, as opposed to Sequence Dancing.

    In Rounds, you learn the steps, then follow the cuer, and don't have to learn the sequences off by heart.

    Do they have competition Square Dancing without a caller?

  • @bairen2002 : No, they don't have square dancing without a caller (that I know of.) But I /think/ a reason why we have to memorize is so that there's the music, and us dancing, no cues getting in the way of music. That's just me though. But I have fun memorizing the cues, it's very challenging. :}

  • Thank you!! I designed that dress. And it is my fav!!! This years is going to be even better!!! Well I hope at least lol!

  • I remember those days. Competition was a great time every year. I know you guys work hard and you look great!

  • What a beautiful dress!

  • She's pretty

  • @elvis3700 Thanks!

  • @Loserish1248 Do you do squares as well? If you do, would yousave me a tip sometime?

  • @elvis3700 Who is this lol/

  • @Loserish1248 You dont know me. i'm just a long time square dancer. I saw your video and really enjoyed it. Any red blooded American male, would love to dance with you. I just love to dance.

  • thanks for the reply..I have square and round danced but never done competition. However I did teach clogging where we memorized the moves.Again really neat video..just saw on your bio that you were interested in photography. no offense intended about the mono or tripod

    but one is really a great help (monopod in close situations, like around a crowd or shooting sports, etc.-- I do alot of that for my local high shool-- I shoot and edit their senior video each year...thanks

  • love the girls in there petticoats

  • Really enjoyed the video. I have never seen "freesiyle" rounds (didn't hear a caller) but it appeared they were all dong the same routine. Just a suggestion from a vidographer: use a monopod or tripod when possiple..helps steady the shots..keep up the great work.

  • well, all the competetors(sp?) have to memorize their dances. it's like that for every division. and i didn't have a tripod for my camera.
