This is Brett Favre and I do want to play football again because its my life. So does that answer your questions? Yes some of you all are right I'm not good at football but I'll play anyway. And I'll admit again that I was a drug addict earlier in my career.
If it was comming off that horrible 2005 season I can understand your point. Since they came so close last season, I don't get why there's alot of people that don't want him back. 2008 is their best chance for a superbowl run under favre. I just don't get it.
I know it's tough for GB fans right now. He won't accept being a backup, releasing him would suck, and getting good value for a trade would be next to impossible (12 million cap hit). He's causing a huge distraction for the team and dividing its fans. I know I'm not in your shoes, but being a Vikings fan has started its own s***storm. A lot of Vikings fans would like to see Farve in purple. I don't. Both teams are trying to establish a young starting QB and Farve's not helping either of us.
pre- favre role of mediocrity? what about the 60s under Bart Starr when they won 2 super bowls and several other championships under Lombardi.. that's called mediocrity?
Hick? what the fuck? Dude have you even BEEN to Wisconsin?... the people there are so nice and its a great place to live. How are the packers stupid fans. The packers are arguably the most historic team in all of sports.. to disgrace the history of the packers is to disgrace the NFL itself.
First of all, FUCKER, have you ever even been to Wisconsin? It's a lot more than a bunch of hick towns, but apparently you talk shit about stuff you don't know. Also, OBVIOUSLY FAVRE DESERVES TO DO WHAT HE WANTS, he's Brett Favre! No one said that he hasn't earned the right to do whatever he wants. FUCKER.
I think I drove through that state, it was so unmemorable and the women so indistinguishable from the cows that I forgot if I was there or not. its not even worth mentioning, that place was so insignificant.
Wow, I'm not going to argue with you about the state. Every place has its good and bad aspects, you obviously haven't been to some of the GREAT cities in Wisconsin, it's really all opinion. And I don't care about yours.
Brett needs to get a film of Bart Starr's last year and watch it, Starr is my favorite player of all time, but I wish I'd never seen that last year. Bart was.........well lets just say you don't want to see Brett go out like that, it's something that sticks with you.
The worst thing about it is that people are calling him "selfish" now. He is ANYTHING but selfish.. he loves his team and the game. Unfortunately he chose to retire and that's that. He should stay out of it all now.
"Citing NFL sources, multiple media outlets in Wisconsin reported on Wednesday that Favre or his agent, James "Bus" Cook, contacted the Packers about returning a few weeks ago and the conversation ended with the quarterback asking for his release. The team reportedly refused his request."
If Aaron Rodgers pass rated or not apper 16 game, injury wont play start 16 game. may out change Favre.. If Aaron Rodgers become Elite argee stay play in Packers!!...
NO... I want Favre play in Packer Because RRREEMMEEMMBBBer about to Do bad Draft #1 DT, and Packer wont got Moss why didn't got super bowl.. Because Have Problem about Packer? 81% bad thing?
My GB GO Packers fan go.. I hope see AAron Rodgers elite...
Do not If Aaron Rodgers Go every day play go 16 game and matter Injury still play, and Bad pass rated. If Hope Pick favre..
I think like Aaron Rodgers.. If I see next fall, Aaron Rodgers bad pass rated and Injury not apper 16 game and someone fail then packers pick Favre back? so Packers say NO
maybe you're right, or not. i'm just saying that if he wants to play, just do it, and if he has to failed, so be it, 'cause i think is terrible not doing that you really love (i'm not so sure if i wrote that well, if i didn't excuse me)
Aaron Rodgers??? Are you kidding me?!?!?! He played twice last year and looked great....and got hurt BOTH times. All this talk about the Packers "moving on" is crazy. Brett led the team to the freakin' NFC championship last year, and had his best QB rating since '96!! I agree if he plays for another team I would be sick to my stomach, but I want him back with the Pack. Ask yourself this, who gives the Packers the best chance to win next season....Rodgers or Favre? No contest brother.
We've been spending this entire offseason adjusting our offense for A-rod to take over. Brett might give us a better run for the Super Bowl this year, but what happens after that? He retires again and then what? We go back to a pissed off Aaron Rodgers? Or did we trade Aaron away because he got too pissed because Brett came back.
If Brett came back, we'd only have him for a year or so, and we need anew quarterback who is ready to step up and take this team for years to come.
Damn I guess you did beat me to it :P But yeah I feel the same way. they were saying on Sportscenter that people were "cheering" on the streets in Green Bay.. but how? thats what I want to know. Hes obviously one of the greatest athletes of all time, but its BETTER for the PACKERS if he leaves it alone now. It's Aaron's time.. and he can lead the Pack, they are young and great. GO AARON!
I don't understand why Green Bay would deny his release. I get that they've been building a team around the idea of him retiring, and it's time for the Rodgers era to begin in Green Bay. If they can't prevent him from playing for a different team next year, why try to make things more difficult?
And it's not very cool what his specualtion is doing to the team.
All that said, what team(s) could he join that will be bad news for Green Bay? Anyone on your schedule or anyone that is (or could become) a playoff contender that would start Favre?
I think it'd be OK if he joined a team that was dedicated to a different, younger starter and just wanted Favre for a mentor and veteran presence.
Well they were saying on ESPN that teams that need him would be the Bears and the Vikings.. if he joined one of those teams I would consider killing myself lol.
what does Favre have to get revenge for? lol, he was towards the end of his career so they were looking for his replacement. He'll stay retired as a Green Bay Packer in the history books.
To keep media hype down, yes. His own teammates have said that he's considering it. He's spoken directly with McCarthy about it and has even asked for his release but was denied by Green Bay.
hey you dochebag cock sucker how bretts career now you fagget lover.

They're just trying to keep the whole thing under wraps so that there isn't any crazy media around the thing.
I guess we won't see what will happen until the end of the month.

This comes from ESPN.
"Citing NFL sources, multiple media outlets in Wisconsin reported on Wednesday that Favre or his agent, James "Bus" Cook, contacted the Packers about returning a few weeks ago and the conversation ended with the quarterback asking for his release. The team reportedly refused his request."
I'd die if he suited up for another team.

It's not that I'm worried about another team using him against us. It's just that he has become the heart and soul of the Green Bay Packers.
If he went somewhere else after all that hes done for Green Bay, it'd be a little fucked up to the fans and the franchise.
Green Bay is denying his release to make him think about staying retired more. The more they can stall him, the more he'll realize it's a bad idea.
headshotpirate 3 years ago
Good theory, I s'pose.
I'm just tired of the same old story. Pretty soon we won't refer to the "boy who cried wolf" but the "Favre who cried retirement".
peterplaysbass 3 years ago

kmwarrior33 3 years ago
Trading some players within the division is fine, but a HOF QB is just too much.
Maybe Favre will come to the Vikings for revenge since GB offered a one-year contract to Culpepper?

he should stay retired its rodgers team now you guys have good wideouts and a good running game thats why favre might want to come back one more run
