I saw ken boothe yesterday in Amsterdam during the Open Air Reggae Fest. It was sooooo amazing. More then ten thousand people were singing the chorus, and it was beautiful.
The things they wore! Q 'So Ken,I hear you're on that amazing music show, what you going to wear to knock 'em dead?' A 'I thought I'd go for an all-in-one white satin catsuit with frilly collar that shows my crotch to good effect and stacked heels combo. That should do the trick but I'm a bit worried about the guitarist outshining me in a sensational swishy floral number.'
I was born in the early 70's and i remember this being played alot in my childhood.Someone, somewhere would play it. The black regae scene had a place in the 70's like every other genres of music back then. Its a lovely song written by David Gate of Bread. I like both versions .
bass player: dig my 70's dance moves!

I've heard this song but never from him. Very good. I was positive he was gay when I saw this. But apparently he isn't. I'm confused.

@ziggy2316 David Gates wrote this song. He WAS Bread. BUt I prefer this version. It was a time when Black People made real music.

Amen to all of that my friend. I have at least half a dozen different versions, and this one always brings me to tears.

Check out his version of 'Let's Get It On' on YouTube.
it will blow you away, and you will blow too.
irie2012 1 year ago
Whoever says Ken Boothe can't sing obviously has no idea about music whatsoever.
He has one of the most solid voices in the history of 20th Century music.
He does a version of 'Let's Get It On' which adds a new dimension to the Marvin Gaye original. Get with the program suckas!!
