Seems to me that within every religion there are schisms, often based on unimportant, insignificant differences of belief, leading to fratricidal feuding. None of the arguments are resolvable because they are based on hearsay, interpretations of ancient texts and are, ultimately not subject to logic, as in mathematics or empirical testing, as in science. odd, though, that people feel so strong;y about things they cannot definately prove than those they can.

As such, Shias do not regard Sunnis as kafir. If they were, the ulema would not allow marriage with them, nor would they allow us to eat their slaughtered meat. This being said, brother Shaykh Keller is a Shafi'i and he is complaining about the Safavid era. I suggest he reads into what the so called hero Salahedin did to the Shias in Egypt and North Africa. Not one was left breathing. So here I think it would be fairer if a more objective view was presented. Peace to all.

@tabrizi79 Salaheddin was a hero, and he destroyed the evil Fatimiyyas, who were there to cause corruption. And no, he did not kill every shia, infact Salahuddin rahimahullah had alot of Shia Druze in his army when defending Lebanon.

With all do respect to our brother and Shaykh Ha Mim Keller and as knowledgeable he is about his own madhhab, he is unfortunately clueless about 12ver Shiism. Here are a few corrections 1) Qiyas is forbidden in Shia law 2) Infallibility in its absolute sense is not a required belief, prominent shia ulema even disagreed with it like Shaykh al-Saduq 3) Belief in Imamah or other beliefs specific to shiism is not a prerequisite to be a Muslim, see our works of fiqh in sections of tahara

I am confused. I converted to Islam in 2005 and did not understand things such as madhabs because I have only been trying to perfect my worship the way I learned it. Now I became friends with a Shi'a person. I don't understand where are the Shi'a ahadeeth. The Shi'a seem to claim that the Imams were magical and infallible and also the Prophet's (saws) family were infallible. Help!

The shia of today believe that the Quran is not the same Quran as at the time of the Prophet, because they believe that ayat regarding the ahlul bait is missing....this is clear kufr. And of course you wont have every single shia with this view. In addition, someone who calls a sahaba a kafir is himself a kafir, as per the hadith

Allah taala took away the khilafah because of the lack of trust in Him and due to innovations and innovators. We cannot unite with shia, deobandi wahhabi etc....Read your fiqh and ask an alim like Imam Ahmed Raza Khan....not an aam person like Nuh Keller

we must unite instead of all this backbiting! we are being killed all over the world, we are being laughed at and are not taking seriusly. first unite regain honor and than deal with ppl that are misinformed throu dawa inshaallah.

We lost the khalifat , andalucia , and sicyli Allah took it away from us becous of fighting among each others.
