I like how Thom has been getting sorta funky and R&B/soul influenced in recent years...listen to the drum-cuts in this song...listen to the Marvin Gaye-esque vocals of "Nude"...listen to that ominous groove he built for "Black Swan"...he even said Mary J. Blige's Atlanta cover of "Nude" last fall was better than his own! lol...Thom has always been a very un-English "Englishman"...his skin may be pasty white...but he's got mad ghettofabulous instincts inside of him...he feels all genres inside.
Does anyone else love the way that Phil's drumming at the line "Ladies and gentlemen without a safety net" sounds like something falling? Goddamn I LOVE that!!
Phil Selway deserves to be celebrated much more than he is. He may not be as dramatic and self-indulgent as Bonzo Bonham or Moon but imo he's every bit as good. His work complements each Radiohead song perfectly. See Chat Show Host for a case in point.
I could sit up here all day and think about what radiohead song/album i like........ALL OF THEM! They make good musick! It keeps me calm cool and collected ya dig! I dont know what the fuck i would do if they stopped making music, i hope they live on!
Obliviouspet rated OK Computer Radiohead's 5th best album - wtf?? 5th!
It's the greatest album ever released by anyone ever. EVER. And I love Kid A and all the rest (...maybe not Pablo Honey). But the peaks of OK Computer - Paranoid Android, Karma Police, Exit Music for a Film, Electioneering, Lucky - they are beyond compare.
I've been listening to it since I was 15 (I'm now 27) and I still can't get over it. It's even better than The Beatles. YES, I SAID IT.
Now i have loved radiohead from being about 6,out all of there albums up to now in rainbows is my favourite can anybody tell me in there opinion what they think is there best to worst im still thinking out of rainbows and ok computer? but at the same time i think its as equally as hard as i think all of there albums are genius
couldnt agree more. actually every radiohead album has been my favorite at some point except for pablo honey(which i think is still a great album)
hail to the theif was my favorite for a few years followed closely by ok computer. then i got obssessed with amnesiac for a few months. iv always loved kid a and the bends equally, they go remarkably well together i think because of the contrast in style.
currently, i think in rainbows is my favorite. those songs are so cool live.
I'm not a huge fan of Thom's vocals in the studio version, at least not until after the first "Down is the new up." He's my favorite rock vocalist though.
God damn guys, I just hit that point where you're expecting the album to get old and then you realize you haven't even heard it at all and you're like OMG... holy shit radiohead is good at making albums that you can listen to on repeat forever
the one released on line was a sham compared to the second disc. the second disc is the most beautiful album they've ever made. it could also be called in clouds or in flowers
we must be the same person, living in distant parallel unverses, separated by billions of lightyears of black matter, wormholes and galaxies ; )
btw, everyone keeps asking why i rate OK computer 5th. mind you, this doesnt mean i dislike ok computer, lol. it just means i like the preceding 4 even more. sheesh, music is a matter of taste, and therefor relative.
You might say it's OK Computer that started it all for Radiohead, but I actually think Kid A is the catalyst for the Radiohead sound that we are all so familiar with today. And it was perfected with Hail to the Thief.
@leungsz...TOTALLY agree with you statement about OK Computer...Love the list too...mine are exactly in that order...Favorite album ever is Hail to the Thief
I was trying to sing along with body snatchers in my car and I strained my voice trying to follow along with his falsetto parts. I think it sounds good in this album. Its very thom yorke.
this is another version of the song, i have the one without any drums

Kid A
kristianbejb 3 years ago
@kristianbejb
i agree partly
im glad to see someone appreciating Hail to the Thief Amnesiac and the Eraser
But they are all better than pablo honey in my opinion and Kid A HAS to get higher
but if i compare Amesiac to Kid A
Amnesiac would win definetly
just think of like spinning plates!

2) In Rainbows
3) Kid A
4) Amnesiac
5) OK Computer
You might say it's OK Computer that started it all for Radiohead, but I actually think Kid A is the catalyst for the Radiohead sound that we are all so familiar with today. And it was perfected with Hail to the Thief.
