  • This masterclass is absolutely organic.

  • What is the piece that was played?

  • Biss is known for his Beethoven. LL is not. Case closed.

  • Biss is known for his Beethoven. LL is known for his eyeballs.

  • Jonathan Biss is the best among the learners. His playing reminds me of Glenn Gould in Goldberg Variations; he imparts a spiritual experience, an inwardness, an introspection in this quieter section of Beethoven Sonata. Maestro Barenboim had to correct Lang Lang on the rhythm, syncopation; but here in Biss he was imparting the more spiritual and complex aspects of Beethoven playing. Here is Biss playing with an intuitive understanding of Beethoven. Lang Lang was note playing and technical.

  • @lifeingod7

    I completely agree!

  • @natashkk No you don't.

  • @lifeingod7 - well at least he didn't get chewed out like that red hair guy. Red hair wasn't so receptive of Barenboim's ideas and insisted on playing it his way with obvious problems in tempo.

  • @lifeingod7 Can' t be compared to Lnag Lang. This is spirit, mindless technique is fo robots.

  • MAESTRO BAREMBOIM

  • I like his personality.

  • Great mentor with great sense of humor :)
