I lived in Columbia for a long time. I have lived in 3 different cities since then. I like to go back and visit old freinds and places. But I am always ready to leave when the time comes.
@growingup15 I hope not. The atlanta area is one of the fastest growing metros in the country, it could become a huge mess, or it could become something much greater, it depends on how the government runs the place. As of now there's a lot of economical support that the city has delta, coca cola, etc. and the city is in debt by 5 billion (I believe), our education system is going, many schools are getting shut down, tuition is going up by 30%, hope scholarship
@growingup15 they are proposing to increase gpa standards in order to receive the hope scholarship. Several schools are closing to decrease the cities debt. The city is going to create a new stadium, hoping that it will create more jobs. It all sounds pretty bad, but there's a lot of new business that have opened up within the last few years, especially where i live which is like 40 miles from atlanta, and this is a fairly poor town
@esca8652 Whos a Fairly Poor town. the little town you live in Or Columbia.
and im pretty sure that All cities in America right now are suffereing from stuff and also rising up in some stuff. so its not a Win lose situation its more of a Nuetral thing. But just recently new results showed that Columbia,SC is in the top 40 Economy sastaning cities in the USA! IDK Where Atlanta Stands. i hear they Failed alot during the Economic Downfall! becuase it was Growing so big so Fast. Same with Charlotte
@growingup15 the little town i live in. And yes that might be why the economy saw a big downfall, since more and more people move into an area with already not enough jobs, atlanta's likely not prepared for the sudden growth. I don' know how charlotte's doing they and raleigh have actually grown more within the last 10 years than that of atlanta. And both those cities have a low gdp compared to atlanta, which apparently that doesn't make all the difference in the world.
@growingup15 ok cuz were moving their soon and im just woried about small country towns lol.............but i belive u but evryone says theirs alot of emos in clumbia ok if thier are how come i dident see any walking down the street in this video? i only saw normal people
@gotthkid2 you have to go to Certain spots in columbia emo kids dont just Hang out all willy nilly in Columbia. the video you see is the Vista/Downtown Business District. you have to go to Places Special West Columbia. i live there and that New brookland Tavern has alot of Goth punk scene and Emo kids. special when bands be playing there.
@growingup15 oh ok thanks.........i heard theirs also alot of those people are in myrtle beach to is that true? ( the 4 type of rocker styled people emo and punk and goth and scene)
@gotthkid2 I Dont know about myrtle Beach ive only been there 4 times. i just go to the Beach front! but Yeah maybe you should Hang out with me when i go to the New brooklyn Tavern. i go for Death Metal concerts
@growingup15 holy shit dude your into that? hel yeah we should hang......werere looking for a suburbs that's near the mall so when i wanan chill at the mall i dont have to walk so damn far........and on my favorite youll find the music i like
@gotthkid2 Yeah the 2 Malls in the Suburbs are Columbiana Mall! in Harbison. near irmo. and the Biggest is the size of a city. its Village at Sandhills Mall. But the Mall with Hot topic and Spencers in it is Columbiana mall. We should Hang out. i got my Lisences you can hope into my Minivan and i can let you meet some of my Other hardcore friends in the Area.
@growingup15 bro you need to film in the clumbia mall just so i can look at the inside incase im not able to get up their to the mall lol considering il be in a difrent city......and are their people that say things like ( owned) or ( beast) or ( epic) or ( fail) ECT.....like you se ehere on youutbe alot in videos
@growingup15 and no sorry i do not have a facebook BUT i do have a email adress if we could talk their....im thinking about making a vampirefreaks ( it's like a myscpace but for goths and emos ect) incase you dident know.
Your 14. cool and its understandable i have city ideas that can make Columbia better and more fun for young people/ becuase im 18 and most of my life i always wanted fun stuff in Columbia like in other cities. and a Mall would be nice. either Underground or Mix above and under
Columbia would be a nicer place if they fix these roads and replace those worn out street signs (especially those on the traffic light posts downtown). They should also build tall buildings on the other end of downtown between the Bank of America building and the wachovia building to fill in the big gap in the skyline.
on trust me im all for that the mayor is a good friends of mines and i am having meetings with him to help with the city skyline and so far he likes my idea for 7 new towers being built in the city from 2010-2015 all of them except one over 37 stories tall from 37-60 stories. it would look great in the city by 2015.
7 new towers? That will definitely set the skyline off especially if they're nice and lit up at night. I wish I knew the mayor like that. I have ideas that'll make this city rockin.
well i can help i can tell the mayor about your ideas and give him your youtube channels so you can get all the credit. i have a few renderings of my ideas if you want to see them on my flickr page.
Have you ever been in those tall buildings. The big white one, the Capitol Center, is 25 stories. You do not need and ID, card or anything to go up to the top on the weekdays during hours. The elevators there are not that fast but they are nice. The big black building is 20 stories and you can get in there during hours on weekdays thought the crosswalk. The elevators there are super fast.
If you dress nicely and you go into some of those high-rises. You can possibly get a view from the Capitol Center, the tallest building, or the Wilbur Smith Building. The big, white Wachovia Building is restricted.
i lived between lexington and columbia ever since i was born the first time i ever moved to another place in my whole life was a month ago i live in chicago illnois and i hate it i miss columbia so much i thought i would never miss it either but seeing this i cry i miss it so much i hope to go back and live there again but my husband dosent want to :(
Columbia, S.C. is a great place to be. I enjoy visiting Columbia; it is a nice city, very southern due to its' congenial charm. In fact, I was just there on August 28th when N.C. State got killed by U.S.C. Everyone there was hospitable and the weather, although very humid, is a good deal like the weather in Fayetteville, N.C. where I am from.
I don't really like our new slogan although it's true!!! I came from NC and was told before I moved here that this was the armpit of the South.... it's hot, but doesn't stink! It's growing on me.

I lived in this town, it's an ok city. Not much to do there but eat bar-b-que. That's why I moved to Orlando, Florida, never run out of things to do here. And the weather is warmer.
I lived in Columbia for a long time. I have lived in 3 different cities since then. I like to go back and visit old freinds and places. But I am always ready to leave when the time comes.

those big towers attract yankees. I say we tear some of em down. especially the big one cross from the capitol.

Nah we need attractions here. i think we need more people coming from out of state so we can get money into our state.
i think a growing city is a great city. we just cant grow too fast at one time like dubai.
