Well..out of almost 12,000 views you are the first to complain...if you "listen" to the video, I "tell" the comparison...video is never as good as quality as seeing them in person anyway...you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in the video even if they were opened.

Cool that you got the wave 1 joker. I was looking for it everywhere but had no luck. However, I did find and purchase a wave 1 batman figure that was hanging all alone on a peg. I got it for $8.00 and had no problems from the store. I am not sure if they even knew it was a recall. Cool toy.

Yeah, the prices on the movie masters joker has gone down tons on ebay since last month. Within the last couple of weeks I have seen them sell for as low as $10!

As far as the Joker figure itself, there isn't much difference. The only way of knowing the real difference of the wave one Joker and the 2nd or now 3rd wave Joker is the holes punched into the side and the model number on the bottom of the package. The wave one Joker's number is M-5070. I am not sure what number the 2nd or 3rd wave are, but I think the 2nd started with something like a P or K or something like that? And the 2nd wave and 3rd wave Jokers have 3 or 5 holes punched into the side.

I actually think the rarer one is the Batman Dark Knight costume figure is rarer, I haven't seen more of those figures yet. I have it also, I also found the chase figure unmasked when I first noticed them being out, so I lucked out there, I had to buy a chase batman goulish figure off ebay, but now that I have one and paid 30 bucks for it I'm sure I'll find it in the store for regular price.

Actually, the two rarest (or hardest to obtain) is the wave one Joker and the Chase Batman (unmasked). I saw the other day, the wave one Joker sold for $80.00!

When I aquired my wave one joker, I found it at walmart. I bought two of them. One had no air holes, one had holes, luckily the one I decided to open for display puroposes had the air holes. I still have the one without in the package. SO I don't know what kind of truth there is to the yanking of the figure off the shelves, I think they just sold out quickly because all the moochers wanted them to sell on ebay just like everything cool. They snatch them all up before anyone can get them.

I found them at walmart again this week, and I don't really see any difference between wave one and wave 2 other than the air holes in the side of the boxes, there's no difference. I noticed subtle pait differences between all of them. I bought a couple more that I found, and each one is a little different from the other... SO wave one has no differnce other than the vent holes, probably to allow the paint to dry out faster

I have been looking all over for the Joker toys and I haven't had any luck. Today I spoke with a Toys R Us employee and he said that the Joker toys haven't been released in Canada (where I live) which really angers me! Is it only the U.S. that can get them? I bet you bought it on the internet, right? Whoever sold it to you probably took the stickers off to try to sell it as a Wave 1. But the air holes in the packaging confirm its a Wave 2, regardless of the serial number. You got ripped off buddy.

wave one joker has a grey shirt and a different tie. a code on the back of the box that reads 0638NO and a plastic strip that keeps the card in its slot. wave 1 has no PVC3 on the bottom of the box. wave 2 has cut some corners on the box has have vent holes. wave one was made by the 4 horseman. ive found these details on wave 1 joker package that makes it so much more authentic

The Wave 1 Batman is with the Dark Knight Suit and comes with a Batman cowl as the evidence. The Wave 2 Batman has the Batman Begins Suit and comes with a batarang as the evidence.

Even though my Movie Master Joker figure has the red mouth cuts and messy face paint like the Wave 1 model, it was packaged like the other Wave 2 figures (with the air holes and black stickers covering the serial number on top of the Mattel label).

I own both Wave 1 and 2 and there is a minor diffrence. Look very closley at hs eyes. Wave 1 has them looking up and 2 has them straight on

These mass produced action figures are usually inconsistent in paint applications. You can have 2 same figs from the same case and they could be painted very differently, especially the eyes. This as well as the position of the head can determine whether the figure appears to be looking up, looking straight, or seems "scary".

I own one wave 1 and 3 wave 2 jokers, and yes: those packaging details are the only differences I see. Hopefully we will have a Harvey Two-Face figure in the Wave 3 set (Along with a Comissioner Gordon.) If no toy comes out, we can only assume he lives on for part 3 of the film and will have to wait until then.

two face is DEFINATELY coming out, they said so at sdcc. they also said they're working on ra's al goul and that gordon is most likely going to be made into a movie masters figure. the bad news is we may have to wait until early 2009 until these figures are released.

i know someone already anwserd this, but, a random guess is, that two face would scare the hell out of kids, they recalled joker cuz he was too scary, so i dont see them ever making a twoface figure... though, thats just a random guess.

Joker was never recalled. Just pulled from shelves because the paint did not meet Mattel standards. Joker was later re-issued with the Wave 2 toys just as I show in the video. (the too scary thing was just a rumor). Two-Face will come out, just not in the Wave 3, as I previoulsy had assumed.

The DC Direct Joker doll looks even more realistic and that was never "re-called" for being too scary. It was just an internal Mattel issue with the quality of the paint.

I wouldn't use DC Direct for comparison. Those toys are usually targeted at the teen-adult collector since they are only available at specialty stores. There might be different standards for family friendly stores like Target and Wal-Mart. That said, I doubt this Scary Recall is true.

No difference in the figure. Anyone who says otherwise is lying just to bump up their ebay sales.

The only real package difference is the holes in the side. There are stickers on the plastic covering some of the wave 1 numbers to reflect the wave 2 numbers, though the original numbers are still there since they are printed on the card inside.

Oh, I see. What I would do is find out when Wave 3 of the Movie Masters line will come out (I heard maybe sometime around September) maybe we can find out for sure on Mattel's website or blogs, and go to the store the first day they come out, and buy them.

As far as selling you one for that price, I'll have to pass. I am currently selling one on ebay and its current bid is at $41.00. I have two others I will be selling on ebay, but I'm hoping they will sell for around the same price or more.
