  • IMPRESIONANTE Silviaaa!!!...me emocioné mucho!!!...esta versión es antológica:los coros y el solo de piano eléctrico de Rich son colosales...gracias muchas chamigaaa!!! Besossss!!...Yerman. :-)

  • Better than beatles yep i might say that thousand times but no offense to beatles fans i hope so :)

  • With all due respect to the Beatles' fans, I agree that this is the best version of HELP that I have ever heard. It truly ROCKS!

  • Wow. A whole other dimension to Karen's talent. As much as I love the other stuff, almost wish they'd stuck to this style. Hmm. Thanks for posting.

  • This is one SUPER COOL VIDEO... The Carpenters knew how to ROCK and ROLL. Karen's drumming is excellent. The entire band was a perfect collection of great artists. HALL OF FAME for sure.

  • Carpenters did early Beatles better than early Beatles did. Check out "Nowhere Man" and "Can't Buy Me Love"

  • Love it!!!!

  • Happy Birthday KC.

    March 2nd 2010.

    deeply missed!

  • Well if it makes you feel better I am a Beatles fan (i have some of their original albums) and I thought this cover was awesome. I'm discovering a side of the Carpenters I never knew. (Also just heard Calling Occupants on Interplantary Craft)

  • This puts today's crap music to shame.

  • My father said that this version is better than The Beatles' ones. :)

  • I must agreed with your father.... (But look around and say it low... just in case any Beatles fan will hear you... )

  • Haha...I intend to comment the same in The Beatles' one...but as you advised me, i didn't. ;)

  • @ssoko sorry but Karen is out of beat here, nothing near the original

  • this made my ears bleed.

  • Why?

  • This is CRAZY FAB!! Super rare to see groovy kidz dancin' to a C's tune. Help really is tied with For All We Know as my fave tune. That organ gave me nothing short of an out of body experience when I was 10 or 11. And seeing K in all of her ecstasy ~ rockin' out on the drums ~ gives me endless joy. Love the hipster who graffiti's their name at the opening

The only other times I remember dancing to C's tunes was Please Mr. Postman at a high school dance and Calling Occupants at the 30th

  • almost better than the original..i don't know..but i like it very much

  • A real classic -- this was recorded on Figure skating great Peggy Fleming's tv special in Squaw Valley circa 1969-70 just before the Capenter's broke through with Close to You. Just having fun and jammin' on their way to the top.

  • @Iwakuni8 I was wondering which TV show this was from- thanks! As a Beatles and Carpenters fan (and I've been listening to all their covers), this was quite groovy!

  • This is actually better than the Beatles original! Shame on their record label for not releasing it as a single.

  • I personally wouldn't go that far. I think it's a nice twist to the original.

  • The song is from their second album, Close to you.

  • I love it. Thank you so much.

  • great clip what is the show called plz?

  • Peggy Fleming TV special (I really don't know who is she.)

  • great, thanks!

  • would Peggy Fleming have been the skater (does seem a little early for her), who had a hairstyle not unlike that which the men in the band have?

  • Your thinking of Dorothy Hamill, 1976. Peggy Fleming was the 1968 Olympic Gold Medalist.

  • @ssoko Peggy Fleming was an Olympic champion figure skater, still appears occasionally as a commentator on televised figure skating. I think the show was circa 1969, just before the Carpenters broke into the big time. The show was filmed at Squaw Valley. Great post, real vintage.

  • @Iwakuni8 Thanks for the information.

  • How Grooovy! I love the retro look, sound, and of course, the eternally beautiful voice of Karen :) Thanks for posting!!

  • Excelente video Silvia!!!! Una barbaridad!!!! Mil gracias por subirlo de parte de todos los Carpinteros. Beso. Yo.
