  • Why is everybody in an ASUS video either white or Asian?

  • @thecoolguy010 you want brack peopo?

  • @howudoin770 Well shouldn't a product that is aimed for worldwide use represent the diverse population that it is marketed to?

  • @thecoolguy010 having colors in a video means nothing to marketability. why werent there any indians, or kiwis.. wouldnt have enough space in the commercial if they had one of each..

  • I hope to see a smart cover with integrated keyboard for the pad.

  • lol clock 0:51

  • This is an OLD video about the OLD Padfone.

This is NOT the Padfone introduced at MWC 2012.

  • this is crazy so innovative

  • @mchenzy i was thinking the same thing...

  • that's great man asus has finally jumped on the phone market

  • This device is Android 4.0 for anyone wondering

  • Asus will get a keyboard dock for this.. So it's a phone that can be docked to a tablet body that can be docked to a keyboard.. Isn't that awesome? 3in1..

  • but the font of written padfone?... mmmm

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

  • 1.40 i didn't know this runed windows #Fail. Internet Explorer !!,

  • fail because it works with only asus phone shit idea

  • @cjguest KOOOL

  • @good2333 Thats the whole point, the two products comes together in one package.

  • @good2333 yes then it willl be fine then i would love

  • Somehow I think it's useless..

  • ''how can we improve?" start by fixing all the problems with the Transfromer Prime? maybe finish one project before starting another?

  • I would rather have a 7inch screen then a 10 inch any day. More protability

  • Asus is not selling the MeMo 370t in the UK to promote this thing. Asus is making a big mistake. This Padfone is like a walking abortion. If you must sell this in the UK please reconsider MeMo 370t for the UK as well.

  • thanks god they have the mute button

  • 1:40 That browser doesn't come from google. that is internet explorer!!!

  • Oh shut up with the complaining over IE so what! You opinionated fools should piss off

  • i love asus, cause they're one of the few companies with the balls to make things like this

  • Comment removed

  • ASUS is slowly but surely becoming a major player with tablets, computers... and now phones??!? Even though I qualify for an upgrade now, I might hold out for this

  • What is the deal with this? Haven't heard any updates from Asus in a longgg time. Bet the cell phone companies got to them. " Why would you let them only pay for a data plan for one device

instead of both a phone and a tablet???"

  • Good idea, but why is there no proper browser? Internet explorer? Really?

  • Brilliant idea :-)

  • @TheKing196 check the date of this, it was back in may. And both the transformer prime and this product excel in different areas and each have their own limitations.

  • Did anyone notice they are using internet explorer?

  • @rephr no waaay -_-'

  • Anyone know the price? If its under $600 you can count me in

  • @0N1GHTH4WK look at ExoTablet com where you can use any phone and only approx $150. Orders being taken from March/April 2012.

  • @0N1GHTH4WK check our ExoTablet com where any phone can be used and only costing approx $150. Order being taken from March/April 2012.

  • is this a joke so i shouldn't buy the transformer prime ?, why even put out a transformer prime tablet this is obviously a better deal

  • They should modify the design to allow the tablet to dock with the keyboard from the transformer prime. Then you'd have the ultimate mobile solution for any situation. I'd drop close to $800 US for an unlocked version with all accessories. Need a netbook, tablet, phone? 3g or Wi-Fi? Cloud apps or USB drives? Look no further. and you could buy the docks whenever you like. All at once or one at a time. Asus please think about it!

  • internet explorer XD fail

  • EVERYONE KNOWS IE8 IS GR8!!!!!!1111one

  • that IE is only a picture you idiots.

  • ie fail!!

  • so does it work without a phone?

or is it just a touchscreen you can connect with your phone?

  • @thomasnooren I'm not sure but I'm assuming it works without a phone. I think the phone just adds the 3g/4g connectivity by sliding it in. I might be wrong though! Maybe it is just a screen, lol!

  • @kikicreamify In fact it just is a screen with an additional battery. The tablet doesn't have a CPU on its own, you need to have the phone plugged in to use it as a tablet.

  • @elogy890 well thats fine as long as the tablet-screen isn't too expensive, heck they should throw it in with the purchase of the phone, but probably won't.. Will this come to the US? When you plug the phone into the pad, can you use the pad as a large phone to make phone calls?

  • @kikicreamify Most sites say that you need to use a bluetooth headset to make calls when you're in 'tablet mode'.The tablet doesn't have a built-in microphone as far as I know, maybe they will change that until the final product is in stores.

I don't know abot the availability in the US because I live in Germany, but I'm pretty sure it will be available in the US and Europe (I'll be pissed if it doesn't...)

  • This is Atrix Perfectioned, LikeABoss

  • well asus is really going all out on this new tablet era its awesome ipads all look alike XP

  • song name plz !! any1 knows ?

  • 1.16??

  • Cool idea :) now you can steal 2 devices in one :D thank you asus this gonna help me :D

  • I love the idea but I always put leather cases on my phones so this will be a bit of a hassle for me. Plus I can't quite make up my mind whether I'd rather have 2 seperate devices.

  • Great product definitely loving the whole idea of the Pad Phone. Now all I need to be complete is a Pad Phone Transformer :-D

  • @aeo2404 it seems like it is going to be compatible with the keyboard docking :P

  • @aeo2404 I saw in another video the Padfone connects to a keyboard as well. So it's three in one.

  • Their products are awesome, but they really need some better advertisement for outside-of-Asia.. Anyone else watch the Asus Zenbook commercial and thought wtf? The Transformer 2 was kind of cheesy, but still better than the rest of them. But I guess I'm biased.. since I have an Asus Transformer already :).

  • AWS bands?

  • what company makes that clock at 00:50 ?

that is the only thing i would buy out of this video.

  • They clearly need some marketing help

  • Internet Explorer on Android Honeycomb? Why am I the last one to hear about these things??

  • The name, while an accurate description, is... well I think of PadThai... now I'm hungry. The design is good, and this is innovation, even if people kid ASUS of simply experimenting with a manner of glue. I feel that while interesting I prefer the separate but connected design of the BlackBerry PlayBook, with the connectivity of BlackBerry Bridge, but this begs the question... does the pad function without the phone? I think not. If not, the padfone must be purchased as one device.

  • 1:30 - Magic button turns it into a tablet

  • @ZombieDawgs and switches your hands

  • A Jonney le encanta salir en las publicidades :D

  • i cant make the switch now because you havent release it yet. and im asian!

  • Apple sucks balls ans Asus kicks Ass. Apple is all aesthetic for idiots that don't understand the power of integration/collaboration with outside software

  • when is this coming out!!!!

  • 500 dollars and it will kick everyone ass

  • 1:36, WTF? INTERNET EXPLORER?

  • @mertreload Because it would be capable of running Windows like most of ASUS tablets today, your phone will be your computer. This is the future...

  • @dtownhuztla and any phone fits into ExoTablet com so not constrained to the manufacturer and cheaper at approx $150. Order being taken March/April 2012

  • @mertreload download chrome

  • Seriously, best April fool joke ever!

  • They should have hired someone who speaks English more fluently. There's no need to actually have the designers speak.

But the padphone is just ridiculously awesome. I don't think I'll buy it because it'll cost too much for me (unless it comes to ATT in two years when my contract is up, in which case it'll be pointless to own an outdated device). Glad to see some companies are still striving for innovation.

  • Is this a joke???

  • i want use keyboard for software=.=

  • All they need to do is add the keyboard dock of the transformer and then it becomes a netbook/laptop too.

  • What does the chairman say at 2:48? mount a milestone for ASUS what?

    I can't hear it clearly...

  • @Tacoqqq I think he says something like "Make the switch on"

  • @Tacoqqq "marks a new milestone for ASUS portable devices."

  • I own the Asus eePad transformer hoping it would be a replacement for my PC tablet but I'm really having a heck of a time trying to type with the Asus, even just simple one finger chicken pecking is frustrating as the input and response is very laggy. I am not impressed with the performance as it seems quite slow for a tablet.

  • @yeomandroidify Have you upgraded to the latest firmware? How has your experience changed since?

  • This is awkward...

  • Hopefully the build quality will be a bit better than the transformer. While I love android and my transformer, i am a bit jealous of the hardware of the ipad2.

  • @macscr why are you jealous of half the memory and 10 times slower cpu?

  • The smartphone is the PC of the future, ( NVidia will produce 8 core CPUs next year for smartphones, of which you can switch four off)

But only if you can combine them with an external graphic card, because this is what comsumes Power.

There is one dock from VIllage Tronic, but only for x86.

Nvidia claims to develop an ARM graphic card, named Kepler.

But yet there is not that much software out there or even games.

It could be something..... in five years or more.

  • @plavix221

Next gen of Nvidia's CPU has 4 core, but the GPU (Graphic card) has 8 Core

Next Gen ==> 4 core 1,5 or 2 Ghz and GPU perf ==> same as Xbox or PS3

    I agree with you

sorry for my bad english, i'm French =)

  • What I don't understand is, what do you do when you get a phone call and your phone is in the tablet, do you have to rip it open quickly to get the phone and take the call?

  • @littlebitstrouds

No you can answer it on the tablet using a blue-tooth headset

  • @littlebitstrouds Good question! :)

  • This is going to be an awesome product. Outstanding concept ASUS.

  • Asus stands above the rest when it comes to quality. It's great to see that design and UX are also important factors.

  • 0:47 - That is an awesome clock set! Can you sell that to me Asus?

  • 1:41 What are they doing on IE????

  • @TheTechieDJ an epic fail

  • @TheTechieDJ My next smartphone will be a smartphone with tegra 3/quad core and windows 8 ;). Windows 8 will let me to install genuine office not a pocket office :).

  • @TheTechieDJ hehehehe

  • Comment removed

  • what if you get a phone call? back to the 1900s cell phone style again? lol

  • wtf hes running ie8 on android?

  • Still waiting on my sandwich maker asus.

  • Goddamn, ASUS can't advertise for shit.

  • drool

  • Nice channel! If you don't mind, check out mine too!

  • 1:44 Padfone is using Windows????

  • @chance3349 I wonder how long that would take to boot...

  • What's the difference with ipad 2 is only that this kind of tablet pc is like a laptop function is just that it is more convenient to carry everywhere

  • 107 people own an iPhone and an iPad

  • Rofl, his voice is soo monotone.

  • WOW

  • I think the English was very clear - it was the sound mixing that let it down. The background music was way too loud and the Jonney Shih interview audio was boxy and lacked clarity, he actually spoke well but he was drowned out in a sea of music.

  • It's a bit unfortunate that they didn't use any native English speakers to speak for this video considering it is in English. That significantly reduces the video's ability to convince many people to take them seriously.

I like the idea, but as has been mentioned, it needs to be a good phone, and also a good tablet, and also a good...padfone.

  • @kungfuhungsu English is the only language I speak, obviously English isn't their first language but I look at it this way - tech companies like Asus and HTC have dominated the handheld computing market for years and they've gone out of their way to employ management staff with multilingual skills. They want potential customers to know who they are so they can associate the technology with the people who design and build their devices. THEY KNOW WHAT PEOPLE WANT AND HOW TO SELL TO THEM!

  • @moochincrawdad Mmm, I wouldn't say dominated. Done well, and made money, but not dominated.

And while they have correctly made a product people might want, my point remains valid. This video is a video in English to be delivered to an English speaking audience. The struggle they're obviously having with English does not look good to your average joe consumer - it shows a lack of confidence and a sense of being out of touch with what is "in".

  • would it be in android or windows?

and suggestion: try to make it in cdma as well, since the network of cdma in indonesia is not that bad

  • i think asus is making very good products in the tablet aspect of things with this and the transformer, but in this video it kind of seemed like they just made this so that users can have a bigger screen for thier phone. lol

  • To me it is a great innovation, but still lacking some adjustments:

    Phone end:

At least a led flash on camera (5mp in this days is not that much, so i think it is fair to add a led to help it)

Maybe dual speakers and covers for the ports (to avoid gadering dust).

    Pad end:

Included microphone (for those who don't want to use bluetooth headset)

Support for the Eee Docking (that one would be an absolute deal maker, you not only get 3 devices in one, as you get more connectivity and more autonomy).

  • Asus will be the next HTC.

  • Also, suggestions to ASUS.

Please make it pentaband 3G (instead of releasing an AT&T version and a separate T-Mobile version).

Next, an LTE capable device would be a win.

  • Dual eye Clock at 0:48.

  • At last !!!, I have been waiting for this long time. Apple was first, true but their gadgets are so limited... I had the first iPhone and it was a total joke! 99% of the apps are dumb simple and useless. You even have to hack your own device to install what you want. Watching anything longer than for 10min on iPhone is just a pain for the eyes!.

Good work Asus! it will be so much easier to send a text or video talk while at home!

  • interesting concept and innovating, but it wont work. If Apple came up with this idea, they would do a 360, market it well and get ppl to buy it. Its not the idea, its the implantation of it that their doing wrong.

  • @swimm3r137 also hype can sell a product. if people think its going to be great before it even comes out it will sell like crazy, but then turn out to be a total fail... like the ipad.

  • what a ridiculous concept

  • Makes a lot more sense compared to the iPad eh? Buy the phone for the processing power, and attach the larger screen when you want it. The tablet in essence is really just a phone with a bigger screen. Why buy a full tablet to do the same thing your phone can, when you should be able to just get the screen by itself and stick your phone to it?

  • I'm not a mindless Apple fan boy, but at the end, the "padfone" font was so obviously copied from Apple it's not even funny.

  • Comment removed

  • @801AMG It is funny !!! sitll Apple is not the Apple inc. that came in to the market 10 years ago. They have adopted this wierd type of gerilla marketing let me rephrase that one, more like gorilla marketing were they take customers for dumbasses with no intelligence at all. Is not thatt I think that apple is the intichrist or something like it, I just think that a littel bit of competition is actually needed and apple hates competition, they'll sue your AS# if they feel threatened !

  • mhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ..what do you think is nicer? the webtop for motorola atrix . ord the padfone ? i think webtop ..

  • whats with that spongbob style hand at 1:30

  • best troll ever ----> "jzak100"

  • Better than that overpriced Apple cr@p. I already have a Nexus S so i think ill go with the Tranformer.

  • 1:31 - I definitely want an expandable keybow...

  • If this phone could actually run Windows 7 then that would actually be something really amazing. For the first time we would have both a convenient smartphone OS with Android and we could also have the most compatible OS with Windows 7.

  • Press 1 for herpes.

  • Asus is absolutely TERRBILE at marketing

  • 1:35 Photoshop Fail? IE on Android? HEAUAHEAU

  • 0:55 - DUHHH IT FIT TOGETHER

  • Does that mean I have to buy a ASUS phone to put it into their Padfone?

  • @justreform maybe .. i think if you buy the phone you get the pad sure .. ore you have to buy the pad seperatyle

  • Im all for keeping jobs in the US but asus make such great products and and for the idiot that says apple was copied by the "china man" these folk are not chinese but apples parts are

  • Neat idea!

  • interesting idea, no release date though..

  • Yzak100: It's not china man you dumbfuck. He is a Taiwanese genius

  • @jimmasterchief2 Taiwanese are Chinese you moron

  • Comment removed

  • @jimmasterchief2 They're the same race...

  • @jimmasterchief2 They're the same race...

  • @yzak100 Behold, an Apple butthurt

  • @yzak100 actually. i have iphone 4 and am laughing at apple because i was going to get ipad 2 but now im going to get this because firstly i can save about $800 and i can have a tablet that can make calls.

  • @yzak100 STFU you stupid iSheep . First of all ASUS is a Taiwanese company oh FYI stupid fuck your iCrap was also made in CHINA

  • @medtik Also, you're mad as fuck.

  • @KurtCobainPWNZn00bz I know bro its not my fault . I just cant stand ignorant morons , who troll and write in CAPS as if what they say is important

  • @medtik Sorry I was in a bad mood when I posted that.

  • @medtik LOL ANGRY CHINA MAN? YOU CHINA MAN THINK UR BETTER THEN US AMERICANS, GO SCREW YOURSELF AND MAKE YOUR OWN TECHNOLOGY INSTEAD OF COPYING FROM AMERICAN COMPANIES. FUCK U

  • this is embarrassing.

  • Great idea. But they still need to work a lot on it.

  • Press 1 repeatedly - herpes?
