  • Awwwww you two are soo cute!! I wanna learn sing language I find. It to be a beautiful language! I wish u all the best!!! -3

  • @boricuagirl9912 Thanks! Don't forget that there are 23 more episodes after this one, too :P They come out every Tuesday!

  • @deborahpeters. Hair does help define u. Why do they have "defined hair"?haha. It shows what you are into, how u like to look, thus shows ppl a bit about u. What u like does go with the definition of who one is. Think before u post.

  • I had really awesome long emo ish hair! Then I gut it shorter(still somewhat long) and a lot has changed!its weird how unaccepting ppl are.

  • You like to question social norms that's a good thing ! - but even better you challenge other peoples thinking :)

  • i was used hippie when i was young and still now ... men who have long hair that not bother me ....who God made us, smile !!! your dad is so good comdy ....thank you for asking me to look your channel ... good show to make people laugh that good health ... keep up smile

  • @prayer59 Thanks so much! I agree that we're created the way we are, but things can be changed for social reasons, right? Like women with short hair (they can do it, but is it 'feminine'?) Real interesting social questions about gender and the actions behind it.

  • There's nothing wrong with guys having long hair. Good god it's been 40 years since the 60's. The world won't come to an end! It won't turn str8 dudes gay. If it does they already were gay to begin with. Get the stick out of your asses! Women can have both long or short hair. Wear both skirts and pants. When are men going to quit oppressing themselves?! Be free!:)

  • @bunnybooties I LOVE your passion about the subject, it just drips off your words. I think you've got some great points, but there's a LARGER cultural problem - stigmas and perceptions - these are things that are tough to crack, especially when a large part of the world is controlled by an older guard who made it there based on those rules. Not saying it's right, just drawing attention to it! Thanks for watching & commenting! :D

  • Cut your damn hair you dirty hippie!

  • @ty9807 Everyone has the equal opportunity to vote. Also, We're 8 episodes in, too! ;)

  • Hi Alex I am a new subscriber,,, I have an idea,, why not let your hair grow past your shoulders, and then donate your hair to LOCKS of LOVE,, its an idea,,,

I really enjoy your videos with your dad :-)

  • @CLOGGIEUSA Thanks for the subscription and welcome! I think that's a great idea! The battle continues as more people vote on the future of my hair. If it gets long enough (8 inches I think) I will donate it! Hopefully my dad doesn't get enough votes to cut it before then, though! So make sure you vote to keep it! :D

  • Are you a coda?

  • @amj5617 Yes I am.

  • cute video! I like the hair, personally :) But know your hair doesn't define you, your insides do. That said, if longer hair is holding you back from some opportunities, don't cling to it. Embrace flexibility, adaptable people go far ;)

  • @deborahpeters I totally agree with you! I just wonder why we have the mindset about long hair! Because that's what could be keeping me from an opportunity without me even knowing! Think about that. Is someone going to say "hey we like you.. but your hair made us not hire you" as opposed to simply not having it and it being a non issue.

  • Love the long hair Alex! Don't cut it :)

  • @dservideo1 Thanks so much! It's not up to me, though! it's up to you and the votes!! Share to save the hair, lol. I appreciate the support. plenty more episodes to enjoy, too.

  • Congrats on 1000 views, keep up the good work

  • @MrSportsking5 Thanks man, I can only hit refresh so many times so it must be coming from people like you! :D I'm humbled.

  • Keep it. Keep it just that length though, any longer and you'll have creeper hair. Looks amazing now.

  • @rocknrolljunkie2011 Thanks so much! I hope I can manage that since It's an on going battle.. share to save the hair, lol. Thank you for your support. Looking forward to hearing from ya on the future episodes, too. ;)

  • "Social Inappropriateness" is too broad. Defining it depends on your race, class or gender. The most important thing is we don't step on someone else's shoes and we respect others. We may have different principles. We just need to be responsible for our actions. We cannot justify killing someone because of drunkenness. A drunk person is not on his "right mind" thus will act on his or her emotions and sometimes not on what that person believes in. =)

  • @leadestillore I am not saying we justify killing someone because of drunkenness, but lets say the scenario is- man works, comes home and drinks himself to sleep. Pays his taxes and essentially is a non-issue of society. Is that 'wrong'? If that's what he believes in, no, according to his mentality of 'right'

  • @Podsmiths well then, every person has his or her own way of dealing with things.

  • @leadestillore Heh, I guess so. It's just crazy to think of all the nonsense that exists in the world, but it might not be nonsense to them. I just feel like no one has anything to complain about others, because I'm sure they're doing something just as bad if not worse. To think of all the senseless craiglists ads, or club gatherings for rocks, you name it, it's out there. Eh, guess it's nice having a world this big, if you get bored, just turn the page.

  • @Podsmiths yeah, one big world. Different kinds of people with different choices. Although some can't quite grasp the idea of what it's like to be out there.

  • @leadestillore lol and if it's even worth 'being out there'. Seems like a lot of headache and frustration, but maybe I should start looking at the opportunity and room for growth, instead.

  • @Podsmiths trials and disappointments are always a part of our lives, they're always present. And if we do encounter them, we can always better ourselves. It'll be our guide.

Like they say, grab hold to every opportunity that comes our way. So if you have one at this moment, go for it!

Who knows? It might be the starting point of something big! ;)

  • @leadestillore I completely agree, it's the uncertainty that's a killer. Not to mention the opportunity cost to do one thing over another. How do you determine what you're truly interested in doing? I know exactly what I want to do- direct a web series I've written/have a plan for- but to get that a reality? hmm. time for some reverse engineering. ya know?

  • You should stand up for what you believe is right or what you believe in. Besides, a person's greatness cannot be measured by one's fortune, fame or looks. it's all about principles and what you are about to offer them.

  • @leadestillore You think? What if what someone believes in is deemed socially inappropriate? Isn't the drunk right in his world? Even if he never risks someone else's life?

  • keep it! but don't grow it too long though.

have you tried tying it up?

  • @leadestillore Thanks so much! I refuse to tie it up, I don't want to look like Steven Seagal! What is "too long"?

  • @Podsmiths hmmnnn, you're right about that one!

just keep it up to shoulder length.

anyway, just leave it as it is. looks good on you! ;)

  • @leadestillore Heh, you're support is uplifting! Though I am not sure the majority of society see it that way, as if I'm supposed to make decisions based upon the larger social entity of civilization, lol.

  • @Podsmiths one word: mullet :D

  • @DeafBirdsEyeNews Lol should of made it an option. Business in the front, party in the back, right?

  • @Podsmiths well, that's the problem with the majority of the people around us.

i hate it when they judge based on one's looks. as if it's our responsibility to please them.

  • @leadestillore I agree. I understand there is some validity to 'judging a book by it's cover' but I at least want people to know that is what they are doing! To do something with no understanding of why you're doing it is a bit tough to comprehend!

  • Keep the long hair; you look great :)

  • @catwithpen Aw, thank you so much! Though I think i'm fighting a loosing battle! My dad's got secret plans to get mad votes, so help me out if you can! Share to save the hair! lol

  • I vote save the hair, Keep growing those beautiful locks as long as you see fit, brotha! Lovin the podcasts!

  • @guzenergy Thank you so much Guz! I can only do so much, though. I need support from beyond. It seems my dad has a secret stash of father power or something... I'm fighting a loosing battle!

  • KEEP ITTTT!!! You look great Alex! ~Astra

  • @okletssee Thanks so much Astra! Though it's not up to me, it's up to YOU guys and everyone else! I think Im fighting a loosing battle, my dad seems to be getting a lot of support, I need my allies to share and help save my hair!

  • Braid it.

  • @JNicas Brilliant! Wonder if that will make the old man happy. It'll be out of the way, right?

  • Keep it buddy, looks good.

  • @skiv1313 Thanks! I think we can make a cultural movement, what's old is new again, right!? I think statistically mens hair get longer during times of economic decline!

  • @skiv1313 Thanks! I think we can make a cultural movement, what's old is new again, right!? I think statistically mens hair get longer during times of economic decline!

  • it's time to shave yer hair, gi-joe!

  • @jheras Oh man, buzz it? That seems like a total 180!

  • tom brady even cut his hair maybe its time for you

  • @MrSportsking5 So did Tom Cruise, doesn't mean it's right. ;)

  • well, alex, i think the hair looks good brotha buuuut dad does raise a good point. if applying for a job with some amount of prestige to it then yes the "clean cut" look is the way to go about it. On the other hand though, if your going in the creative arts area of work like directing and and producing then expressing yourself physically is always a plus. So it all comes down to what your expecting as a result in the near future and where your trying to steer your life. Good luck !

  • @onecrzyrckr1 I agree, but it's a matter of not even getting interviews that REQUIRE an interview. I have just been submitting applications, so UNTIL those interviews, what's wrong with long hair?

  • "Deaf and a hippie? Fuck that" haha! this is great, but i still think you should keep it brother, ya look good!

  • @jlowell413 Thanks so much! Don't forget to cast your vote in the poll in the info section! Help spread the talk, and help save my hair!

  • Comment removed

  • Leave the hair alone. :) ..

I love how you guys talk to each other - makes me think of my dad and I <3.. More please!?

  • @itsjustkitty Thanks! I appreciate your support Kitty. It is my goal to bring something unique to the table with my father and I. I really have been enjoying it and am glad I decided to put effort into bringing it here to YouTube!

  • Alex!! I love this! And your hair! ;)

  • @Livllovable Thank you so much! I am really enjoying this opportunity and love sharing it with people.

  • It is very interesting that there are two sides to each story, which makes you really think of what could have happened in the past that we just interpret as one way even though it could be the complete opposite just one of those things you could ponder on forever and never fully solve

  • @MrSportsking5 Everything is perspective, it's who you want to believe. History is usually written by those who won.

  • After watching it again I really interested the comment that long hair takes work and short hair breeds laziness. To me long hair symbolizes success, look at tom brady and a lot of actors, they start off with short hair and they are after the prize then when they get successful they start to work on their image more regardless of what others think, like a sports team they grow a playoff beard or shave their heads to remind themselves to put all effort into that

  • @MrSportsking5 I like that idea, but I think the discomfort I feel from the long hair is a constant reminder to stay focused. Perhaps those playoff beards do the same thing? I am subtly interested in showing my dad the flaws I find in his personal philosophy, and right now, I feel long hair has changed my life, for the better, for now.

  • keep it, you might lose it one day.

  • @DeafBirdsEyeNews Exactly! That's what I keep saying.. got to enjoy it while I have it!

  • Comment removed

  • You've got beautiful hair, and beautiful hair should be long to fully appreciate it.

  • @Taurus364 Aw. Thank you so much! I can't predict the verdict of the poll though! You could be looking at a night elf mohawk if it wins!

  • This shit is the real deal. Best thing you have ever done. I vote for half and half. Front back left right or checkerboard you choose.

  • @H0mfry Thanks so much! I should put an 'other' on the poll and let people fill it out. Does a mullet count for you? I guess it would be a skullet if it's half and half.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL. Lose the hair! :)

  • @cesarkniesha Make sure you vote if you want it gone (in the info section!) It may be time for it to go, but it's a life metaphor!

  • I really like it. A very original and interesting idea and it was a lot of fun. I say keep the long hair. If my hair hadn't started leaving me in my early 20s, I'd still have it long.

  • @johnhmaloney That's what I keep saying. Enjoy it while I have it! though people think it could be preventing me from things... like my dad for example. I think it's the production you do, now how you look doing it! Do you think it can effect performance though?

  • @Podsmiths It depends on what you're doing. I'f you're relying on being hired by someone who would hold it against you or appealing to an audience who would be put off by it (although I think that that's a very small percentage) then it might be a problem. Otherwise it's just part of your image and in your case I think that it fits.

  • @johnhmaloney Totally. But I just don't get it. Doesn't the work speak for itself? Where does this stigma come from?

  • @Podsmiths It comes from the unfortunate fact that there are a lot of people who judge by appearances and make countless assumptions based on what someone looks like. I've dealt with it many many times due to being in a wheelchair. A lot of people have been surprised when they've found out that I'm reasonably intelligent and I even met one person who was amazed that I play guitar ... despite the fact that there's nothing wrong with my hands.

  • @johnhmaloney Yeah, we live in such an image saturated world. I forget how my own psyche has been effected by the fact that I had to deal with deaf parents and the hassel (and embarrassment) of translating arguments between adult parties. It's a wonder I'm not a basket case with a dad like this! lol ... jury is still out though ;)

  • so cute! long hair actually looks good on you! ;)

  • @leadestillore Thanks! Don't forget to cast your vote if you'd like it to stay! I've never had it this long before, and It can be really annoying sometimes!

  • good stuff alex I couldnt imagine having long hair like that I have wanted to try to grow it out a few times but got too annoyed with the in between stage and ended up going back to short hair looking forward to more dine & sign -number 1 fan

  • @MrSportsking5 Thanks so much number 1 ! My pops gets frustrated too, but it's a metaphor, attribute that frustration with something else in your life and together, they will change!
