Im crying right now!!!!! I got my lab who past away from pet smart! She passed away because she had a heart condition at the age of two. I miss her so much! I love her she was so sweet and when the world was cruel to me she was the only one I could turn too. I remember the day she left me I had never felt so alone. We did everything together. I miss her ears that feel like rose petals, her thick yellow fur, the happiness she gave off when I came home. I can't belive the place I got her did THIS!

It is petsmart to blame I never check the dates on the bird seed I buy for my budgies but now I am going to start, obviously because they were babies they were more sensitive to infection, so it is not your fault they shouldn't have out of date stuff on the shelf unless it is stated clearly that is out of date .
Were these budgies? I have 3 budgies and I have lost birds in the past, and also had to tell a vet to put one mines to sleep too (Cheeky) because he had inoperable growth on his wing.

I ask these questions because I used to work at a Veterinary clininc and might be able to prevent the same mistakes from being made. I have seen Parvo puppies die a slow death in front of me and it'd the hardest thing to watch.
@Anita644 i got it from a free thing i seen at walmart and i took him out before i had all his shots to a fire work show and like three days later he was so so so sick and i took him to the vet they gave him finigans for the throwing up fluids in the back of his neck and antibotics and some other meds and of course they offered the dog hospital to keep him and get him back to normal but thats a bit pricy for me but he died and it was so aweful i felt so bad

dog food usually has a pretty noticable exp. date. just look at the package. the birds are probably fine they are wild and mature, and have built immunities to many harmful things. I am pretty sure that instead of harming, you helped them.

just tell us all the real reason. Thik of it, if you were feeding them expired food wouldnt you notice it the day they ate it that they were sick plus they wouldnt have got to this size. They were like teenagers and almost to adulthood. It looks like you knew what you were doing until something tragic SUDDENLY HAPPENED not food poisoning which is a gradual death not instant like how these 3 went plus on top of that all 3 c'mon maybe one unless theyre was like brake fluid in the food.
that is the real reason. Bacterial infections do not just suddenly happen, it was all a gradual process. These pictures were taken on the first day I got them. We let the mother try to feel all six of her babies, and she couldn't do it as it was her first clutch. The youngest was suffering from not being fed enough. How do you even know what happened? If it was a feeding accident, it would have been more likely that only one would have passed, not all of them.
I will be the first to admit if it was something I did. I will be the first to admit that it could have been prevented. I have never placed any blame on anyone but myself. It was a very sad tragedy, and these poor things had to suffer. Being insensitive and insisting that I am 100% at fault will not bring them back. You don't know what happened, you don't know anything about the time I first noticed they were ill, you know nothing of the events leading up to the moment

They died from a severe bacterial infection because of the expired food. I was under the observation of several professionals, including our vet, while I was feeding them. I didn't know it was expired until it was too late. the date was hidden and very small. Most people couldn't have found it. Like I said it was a very unfortunate accident.

what's sadder is the pet food manufacturer did not have an expiration date visible. petsmart does not put the expiration date, the manufacturer does.

I'm not sad anymore... I miss them, but it's been a long time.
I didn't know it was expired until it was too late. the date was hidden and very small. Most people couldn't have found it. Like I said it was a very unfortunate accident.

I knew exactly what I was doing, and my vet commended me on the good job I did and the measures I took to save their lives... I was a misfortunate accident on the part of a large national company.
You have no business commenting on something you obviously know nothing about. I put this video on here to honor their lives, to honor their existance. and honestly I have no time for your ignorance and stupidity. fuck you man.

I'm pretty sure the comment you're referring to was not directed towards anyone giving condolences.

I know that you don't want to hear this, but all three of the babies are together over the Rainbow Bridge and they won't ever leave each other because they will be together forever.
