  • awsome movie :)

  • All I can say is that how great would it be if humanity thought like him

  • i remember seeing the trailer when i was 8 and thought this was going to awesome and funny - it was unbelievably boring and sad

  • OK, it's 2012. Where the hell is my NBR 14?

  • 2005 with androids in every home? bad call.

  • @dadbernbullmess To be fair, we now have a phone called Android...

  • They lied about the future. Where my man-like robot striving to achieve human acceptance?

  • LOL 2005 we didn't even have the ipad.

  • Robin Williams ... The Chuck Norris of impress acting

  • The amazing power of love.....Time is nothing.

  • this is the downside to movies. everyone thinks that science will be soooooo developed in 10-20 years , truth is this is what we MIGHT be seeing in like 50-100 years. the reason to this is that commercial use has always been a bitch when it comes to mankind. that means that even though we have flying cars , smart robots and even space stations, no one can afford any of it, leaving it to rest for at least 50 years..............woot

  • I predict 2020 to 2200 will be next Dark Ages

  • 2012 in 8 days time.. where are the flying cars????.. seems like they will make these in 2050... RIP to me then..

  • @Hrko1992

    Why such a troll? Asshole!

All I was saying is that predictions / expectations, should not have faith put into them without scientific backup!

Even now we have robots such as ASIMO

Real holograms, and life expectancies increased in the last few decades.

So read what comment you decided to contradict before you make another stupid ass comment

  • great film

  • One of my favorite films..

  • Comment removed

  • For those of you who say "it's 2011 where's my flying car and robot!" shut the hell up!!. you shouldn't anticipate advances in the future based on movies from Hollywood and rumors in popular culture.

Look at the real science I predict within 10 or 20 years we will have humanoid household robots, as for flying cars using an antigravity device or something quiet besides a propeller or jet engine it is impossible currently to produce such a levitating vehicle, unless we use magnetic streets or rai

  • @zsdg34 didnt the people in 1990 think were gonna be driving flying saucers today, and already have contact with aliens, and also, they thought we will be cyborgs that live forever....so please, shut up....

  • @zsdg34 obviously you don't know much technologies are being held back. For example, iPad tech is over 20 years old. So, yeah...WHERE'S my flying CAR!?!

And yeah...it IS possible...would have been long ago if oil wasn't such a money maker.

  • Most upsetting film ever

  • THE DEADLINE HAS PASSED, SCIENCE! WHERE ARE OUR ROBO-BUTLERS!?

  • ai is better

  • 2005? Umm It is 2011, almost 2012, and I am still waiting for my own Robin Williams.....No homo

  • 2005? 2011 still no robot helpers and flying cars ; (

  • jumpa pun cite ni

  • 1:25

    Future World Trade Center =D

  • This movie's so sad! ) :

  • Lol how its set in 2005 and it's now 2011 and we still don't have robot servants

  • @madquinla Haha, funny stuff.

  • @madquinla yeah they didn't put any real effort in estimating the timeline to have actual robots. lol

  • i cried at the ending of the movie :s

  • 1:24 twin towers

  • This Robot is different from other cuz it is played by Robin Williams not Arnold .. And trailer practically gave away the whole freakin story

  • この映画、マイムービーリストに有ります。

  • #02:23

  • Just Watched This Film For The First Time And It Is Brilliant Its A Sad Ending But Its a Really Good Film, Makes You Laugh And Want To Cry.

  • I see something philosofth in thath movie, I love philosophy and thath movie have a amazing screenplay for represent

  • I loved this movie when I was little! OMG! XD I used to watch it over and over! It kind of scared me since I always had a fear of artificiality, but I guess I got used to it when I realized it was just like a twist on Pinocchio. lol

  • ya I remember when advanced robots where popular.... back in 2005.

  • One is glad to be of sevice.

  • Robin Williams would make a particularly terrifying terminator.

  • Bicentennial man vs Transformers vs The Terminator

    Who wins?

  • @PeiinNagato

    transformers!!

  • @PeiinNagato THE AUDIENCE!!!! XD

  • This movie is Great i remember when i watched this at night in 2010 it gave me chills at the end amazing...

  • 2105 would have been more appropriate LOL

  • fun fact for ya, this movie is set in the same universe as I robot

  • Unless and until we establish consciousness i n robots we cannot make a true Robo Homo sapiens sapien. :)

  • that's why i hate trailers..They show everything...

  • This is coming sooner than you think. We're already developing synthetic organs. I give it 50 years.

  • @PhiloAmericana they said that with fusion power...

  • @smokenaces

I can watch a thousand movies. And i could find flaws in ALL OF THEM! There is no such thing as a perfect movie. And this movie has more flaws than you think but i dont complain about it. I loved watching it and i'll keep on watching whenever i get the chance.

  • Asimo is beast. I saw him on discovery and it was wicked seeing what scientists have came from.

  • Rob Williams is one of the best American actors by me And Jeff Bridges too.

  • This movie failed on one critical aspect. Exactly how the hell did Andrew power

himself when he took over 15 years searching for other bots? I don't think there's too many power outlets on barren beaches, or snowed-out mountains...For a movie that tried to pride itself with a little science you'd think they wouldn't trip over such giant plot-hole. "High I'm Andrew, I can't run, I have cord charge that last's a couple days MAX, yet I I build houses, cross mountains and other rough terrain !" FAIL

  • @SmokenAces have you ever been told a fairy tale? you know in in story like this your must suppose many things to get the idea so looking at those details you may miss the meaning.

It's not a movie about how robots will look like in 2005, it's a movie that make you think about: what is love and what is life.

  • @markmd9 like i said, "pride itself with a LITTLE science"

i know it's about "love" i think everyone knows it's about love. Which is why it prolly tripped over a big ass plot hole. I said "one critical aspect" and the fact I was able to recognize the one i mentioned means I don't need the film dissected for me

  • @SmokenAces Solar power.

  • @SirCidKnee No solar power panels, film makes no mention, or even show it. and is pretty clear that he has to use that big extension cord that comes out his forehead and plug it into an outlet for juice. Like I said, in that aspect it failed miserably. Plus even if he was solar powered, after a snowstorm which would block out all energy, his battery would die out from the cold.

  • watching this movie in R.E, wait

  • @willowbreeze121 When you've done 100% exclusive research on this subject, then I will take your recent objective OPINION seriously.

  • @Acguarnica Are you an idiot??

  • attention idiot for hire. idiot for hire

  • @Acguarnica Attacking another person for a valid statement shows your level of maturity.

  • One of the best movie made about what define a human being.

I love than the process is in reverse and without knowing finding a way to describe heaven based on sexual orgasme.

What is amazing is he understood than the only way to grown after a mind and body is at a spiritual level and to be mortal is starting a process of getting a soul to realy fill alive.

At that level he understood than he become immortal in an never ending cicle of infinti love.

  • this movie, although its too old, it can relate in the future,, so i was thinking that, lone time ago, there is also an idea that someday robots or androids are can be used by the humans and can in the future somewhat interfere in the human world..

  • Such an emotional and moving film...truly fantastic!

  • This is one of my alltime favorite movies... :'3

  • I cried during this movie......

  • a.k.a My Friend the Retarded Robot

  • Haha! By 2005....

  • funny how they give away too much while completely misrepresenting the film

  • its 2011, where is my robot!

  • the background music is too perky in my opinion

  • I'm not an emotive person but I could not contain my tears when I watched this movie.

  • it's funny how they used to think we would have flying cars by the 2000's, it's 2011 and we can't even pay for gas for the cars we have now

  • @Nixom1334 Agreed and i am still driving my old 1989 merc, wearing the same old jeans and t shirt with side top hairstyle.

  • Bicentennial Nigger.

  • more like 2015.

  • Its 2011, where's my MVR 114?

  • @WafiyM Its NDR, not MVR.

  • "By the year 2005..." Oh, to be back in 1999 again!

  • i like how he goes kiss me! then pulls her face to his face ahahaha

  • by 2005!? try 2050

  • "IROBOT" ripped off the "THREE LAWS OF ROBOTICS" from this movie.

  • @DaggersDen Please be trolling. Just Google Isaac Asimov.

  • @zapper23 What?

  • @DaggersDen Go to Google.com. Type in "Isaac Asimov". Read the wikipedia article.

  • @DaggersDen They are both based on books by the same guy retard lol Isaac Asimov

  • @armegeddon11 Yeah retard.....call me that in real life, and i'll stick a screw driver in your eyeball.

  • @DaggersDen I robot is a story by the same author (isaac Asimov) who also wrote Bicentennial man and created the three laws

  • Holy crap, someone shoot the guy who made this trailer.. I was cringing when Sexy Thing was put on..

  • LMAOOOOOO "by the year 2005..."

  • God the advertising for this movie sucked. It's a damn shame because it's an underrated film.

  • Its 2011 already, wheres my NVR-114?

  • @JSSJR90 Unfortunately, Isaac Asimov wrote the original short story at a time when the rapid technological development of the mid-20th century suggested that human industry would have extraordinary capabilities, able to turn out private starships and the like by the 2200's at the latest. It went without saying that we would at least have humanoid robots by the 21st century.

  • Excellent comment. I've updated the video details to reflect your valid comment, with thanks.

  • @JSSJR90 yeah!!!!!!!

  • @JSSJR90 Agreed!!! WHERE ARE OUR ROBOTS!?!?!?!

  • @JSSJR90

Do a search for asimo by honda first published in 2005, robots exsist the only problem is they are extremely expensive and very primative, so unless you're fabulously rich, you will need to do your house work yourself for a while.

  • @JSSJR90 insufficient data for meaningful answer!! :3

  • @JSSJR90 I think they may have them now but it's still a prototype.

  • i think it sucks..sucks?chicken not have lips.

    lol @ 1.17-1.20

like the shape of your head..its huge..lol

i looooooooooooooooooove this movie..Robin W has done an awesome job.

  • Pardon my english, but...how the f**k does THIS movie get a 2 star rating!? and Where the Wild Things Are gets 4 stars!? I don't know about you, but i think I speak for everyone, that the people who programmed Movies into Comcast have bad taste. so bad they need a Colombian Necktie and a big serving of Meecrob to know what real movies are.

  • @MakeASly4 Probably b/c this movie sucks, while Wild Things was a really good movie. Go back to watching your shitty movies....loser.

  • @thebull284 yeah, i'd rather watch robin williams be a robot then watching a kid with adhd try to murder his dog with a fork.

  • @MakeASly4 where the wild things are was a movie? i thought it was garbage idk how it can fall in the "Movie" category lol.

  • I loved this movie. It is a classic of modern movies. Robin Williams was perfect for the part. I fell in love with Andrew as a fantastic personality and a great altruistic character that should not be forgotten through the ages.

  • amazing movie! saw it on tv a couple days ago, i cant believe i had never seen it before, this trailer doesnt do it any justice though

  • I love this movie - it's funny, it's romantic, it's sad, it's got an amazing lead actor... It's perfect!!

    2005 was a bit of a stretch though! 4005 MAYBE! =]

  • 2005? Haha xD

  • Wow, I just finished watching the movie. One of thee best films I have watched by far. Truly an amazing heart touching movie.

  • Hhaha...more like 2105 xD

  • Amazing movie. 4 generations and 1 robot.

    Time after time.

  • i cried during this movie omg this brings back memories!!!

  • Wow 2005 was such a magical year. I can remember when I got my first NDR-113. However the trailer is so deceptive it would make Daniel Ellsberg shit himself.

But it is pretty clear what they are trying to make it look like: Mrs. Doubtfire, that's why they advertise it as almost an add onto that movie.

  • Does anyone know where is the music at the end of the trailer is from??

    1:51 till the end

    Thanks any way :)

  • @Zaidalboy Yep, it's the track "Josh and Vinnie" from Searching for Bobby Fischer score album, which was actually composed by the same guy who composed the music for Bicentennial Man: James Horner. He's a FANTASTIC composer, one whom you should definitely explore. :-)

  • this movie plays a huge roll in my childhood,i was around 4 when i once saw the scene where he throws the record player and says "that record player's a piece a shit" my uncle came into the room and i pointed at the movie and said the same line to him :P

  • by 2005!? haha we're so behind in technology..

  • AHHHHHHH!!! I saw the inner me! XD

  • I love this movie my favorite part was when she said do you have your personality switch turned on I do then he says no and she says sucks for you lol funny :)

  • sadest movie ever...

  • Some people might think 2005 was an unrealistic prognostication, but consider the near-reality of this concept. The Honda ASIMO droid, based on technology developed in 1986, was built around the year 2000 and revealed to the public in 2002 (outside of Japan, that is). Also, this movie is based on a book written by Isaac Asimov that was published in 1976. Even Bishop from 'Aliens' references the laws of robotics.

  • 2005? lol

  • One of my favorite movies of all time

  • by the year 2005...

  • @ApricotJamIsNice

That was the year I turned 12 and I don't anyone owning robots. It's outdate but it looks like an interesting movie otherwise :)

  • @CelestialTorment hahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahaahhhhhahahahahahahah xD

  • best movie EVERRRRRRR

  • whats the name of the music when rupert's giving andrew skin?

  • @jshawn777 its called you sexy thing, hot choclate

  • @theguywhokillyou2 thanks

  • 2005....? yeah right XD

  • I hate it when trailers show too much of a film. No need. This film is absolutely wonderful to watch.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!

  • WORST MOVIE EVER

  • @pannikin I'd LOVE to know What you would consider to be a GOOD Movie. <3

  • @RJ132991 Obvious troll is terrible at trolling.

  • They really need to stop mentioning the year in science fiction films.

  • @CinemaGaming Why do they need to stop mentioning the year in Sci Fi films?

  • @CinemaGaming No, It's fun. :)

  • @CinemaGaming

    lol...2001: A Space Odyssey.

2010: The Year We Make Contact

2015: Back to the Future , Part II

  • @Denes05 ohh..really u better see the movie.... seems like u haven't seen either endhiran or bicentennial man....!!!!!

  • there is an indian film called endhiran was made by the same concepts & ideas of this film they haven't even got the rights to make it....!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • there is an indian film called endhiran has made of same concepts & ideas without taking any rights......!!!!!!!!

  • @fgdfhfsgrdhdgjs .....fuck off!!!!....wat u knw about Enthiran u bitch hole!!!!!

  • Without ever seeing the movie, I kept expecting this trailer to suddenly go, 'BUT THEN...the robot becomes self-aware and is out for blood."

  • 2005

  • i love this movie. though it's incredibly sad, i love how..humane and precious life can be

  • so 2005 huh?

  • Let's not forget that this movie is fictional. None of us could have know what would happen during the first decade of the new millenium. Personally, I am very happy for what I have got.

  • Never trust a trailer!!

  • I'm sick Hollywood's F'n Lies

  • excellent fim

  • I AM ROBOT, NANU NANU. Is this film as much of a joke as "I, Robot" was? I guess it has to be if Robin Williams plays the main character.

  • @RubricalEye

It says 2005 in the trailer.

In the movie it says "the not too distant future", however, at the end of the movie the Speaker of the World Congress (Lynn Thigpen) says he was activated in 2005, so I guess you win on a technicality.

In Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey humans were traveling to Jupiter through psychedelic wormholes and observing Earth through the eyes of a massive glowing fetus, but you won't see anyone giving him hell for not coming through on that prediction. ;-)

  • @helpafrica

Stanley Kubrick is DEAD. Of course noone is gonna gripe him for his outdated film.

Back 2 the Future part II has the 2015 year with handless videogames, a 3d JAWS shark that is REALLY 3d, little microwavable pizzas than turn into a large pizza instantly, flying skateboards, etc. lol.

  • @compsciguy you have got to be the stupidest piece of shit that has ever lived and i had to log on just to tell you. Stanley Kubrick is one of the greatest directors of all time and directed movies like Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, and 2001 A space Odyssey.

HE NEVER DIRECTED BACK TO THE FUTURE DUMB SHIT!

that honor belongs to Robert Zemeckis who is an alright director, but should never... ever. ever. be compared to Stanley Kubrick.

  • @compsciguy Keep in mind that in that movie, it was the year 2015 as extrapolated from 1985 (actually 1989 going by the year it came out). We can only extrapolate an imagined future from our own imagination in the present. If we attempted to estimate a further future from some point in the nearer future, we'd be extrapolating an extrapolation. And that would just get too confusing.

  • They make this movie seem like a quirky comedy, but it's far more like a drama. Sure there are funny scenes, but the overall tone of the movie is quite sad. It also goes to show how great of an actor Robin Williams is.

  • i love embeth davidtz

  • Love this movie :)
