im 17 years old. i find all my own hunting spots. i sit and wait under an oak tree in the middle of the woods and i finally shot my first deer last season after spending years of dedicated hard work. but when i see this, i realize how i actually worked for my deer. i dont feed or bait animals, thats cheating, i dont care what your excuse is. its kinda sad that a 17 year old is a better hunter than you. what are you gunna do next, drop a hook in a fish tank? i mean seriously a feeder?!
I also hunt in Pennsylvania. I have to put in some time and homework to have a better chance at a good deer. I have seen a bunch of videos of deer hunts in Texas and they do this baiting like this. At first I couldn't believe it. I can't imagine how it could be fun, challenging or rewarding. It makes no sense to me. It's almost like a form of gluttony. What a shame too man. I'd give my left nut for a chance at a buck like that.
Nice deer, everybody has an off shot now and then, still he went down!! Sorry you have to put up with some of these stupid remarks about the feeder and blind. Wish these nitwits would get a life and quit cruising youtube to stir up crap!!!!!
Unless you're truly relying on these deer for your life's sustenance, this is really a shame. I might as well fish by going to my fish tank and shooting them with a BB gun.
i hunt in austin pa a little town. and im on my sisters thing. im 16 and i can tell you that takes no skill all you have to do is be able to shoot a bow come on man shorts your a pussy hunter.
wow, hunting on a deer farm..thats a real hunt let me tell ya.. heres a fun thought...find a trail set up a deer cam get a damn tree stand and sit up there and come back day after day waiting for that nice buck..hunting a deer farm is like going to a strip club and finding a chick its gonna happen theyre everywhere.
fair chase all the way up here in idaho if you dont own property its very difficult to find a nice deer you cant even put out a salt lick let alone a food plot i worked my ass off just to get a little 3x4 i agree with anyone who agrees with fair chase this shit aint hunting
Why are people hating on the feeder? If you plant a food plot, then you are hunting over bait. If you hunt over a corn or soybean field, then you are hunting over bait. If you are hunting over any food source that isn't naturally there, then you are hunting over bait. Stop tearing down fellow hunters who use a technique that is unfamiliar to you because you live in another part of the country. We are all on the same team. Nice buck!
@ericr91 Food plots are not bait. They are a rooted crop in the soil. Tripod feeders are baiting. Try hunting a 15 acre cornfield instead of a damn feeder. The chance of a deer coming in bow range is very slim. This guy should just sit over his dog's bowl and shoot it when it comes to get a meal. No work evolved in this kill. HUNT FAIR CHASE
I can't say much for bow hunting from a blind, but if you have a tripod its a whole different game in texas, even with feeders. Its lower than most tree stands due to most of the mesquite cover you have being low and its MUCH easier for deer to see you. And with a feeder, you can have a ton of deer ready to blow your cover at any time. The challenge is getting a shot off, not necessarily getting them close.
I bow hunt northeast Pennsylvania i am very happy to have 4 doe with in bow range in one sit. Baiting huge bucks like that is pussy shit... i work so fucking hard planting food plots and i hunt every day, it took me over a month to kill a decent 8 point and i worked fucking hard to do so. You sitting in a blind in shorts and a t shirt over a fucking feeder is such horseshit. Grow up and hunt fair chase pussy.
@justbowhunt I am not jealous at all but I agree with honda that was shooting not hunting. A hunter you are not 0skill+0Tactics=shooter a hunter would be the incorrect answer. That is like a city boy going to a deer farm to SHOOT a deer not hunt one. As long as you know that we have no beef but don't think for 1 second you could hang with us REAL hunters. You are like a lion in a zoo tame as hell with a bloody steak but couldn't make it in the real world. DAMN nice buck though
@justbowhunt Jealous that you didn't work for your kill? Not so much. I know what he goes through, coming from NE Pa myself. He is a true hunter, you are not. He knows what fair chase is, you don't. Solid fact right there.
@justbowhunt hes no jealous. hes just saying up in the northeast we actually hunt. We don't know exactly where the deer are going to be. Thats not called hunting its called getting. If every time you go out with no effort and have close shots at nice deer. Here have to scout our areas, use scent control and our deer don't just stand there after they spook like urs did when u drew ur bow, they run, cause they are not ranch aka hand fed deer.
@honda450rd You hunt in PA, a state overrun with deer in every single acre of woods. Imagine having thousands of acres of NOTHING. How would you get a deer in range?
PS- PA has the smallest bucks out of almost ANY state. Maybe you ought to start feeding them...
That is the way hunting is done here in west texas, we dont have the cover that you may have elsewere. I hunt out of a pop up blind with a feeder, there is still alot of work that goes into setting up the area, deer dont just come because there is a feeder. I guess different regions have there own style, to each there own. I love the fact of tracking deer and scouting them but i also will not call someone a pussy because they hunt out of a blind with a feeder.
@honda450rd UMADBRO? Seem pretty pissed, I bet you shoot RAGE broadhead? cwatididthar? Instead of being so jealous, maybe say congrats on a nice buck. Guess the world needs haters though.
This is almost as challenging as hunting cows. I patterned a nice Angus bull last year and set up in the barn by the feeding trough. Then I used a self-cocking crossbow with a high explosive razor-frag broadhead to make the shot, then hooked it to my quad and dragged it away. This year I'm saving up for a big game safari at the local zoo after all the animals have been sedated. The spirit of the wild!
@usmcdinger66 i shoot the Slick Trick Magnums. they have some newer heads available (grizz trick is one of them) but i figure if it ain't broke don't fix it so i stick with the ones i've always shot, the Slick Trick Magnum. good luck this season.
@usmcdinger66 i shoot a slick trick magnum and at 65 lbs and 28yrd shot i shot clean threw both shoulder bones ( thing year was my first deer so i didnt make the best shot i was so nervous) but the deer was a 200lbs 4x4 white tail from nebraska he only made it 40-50 yards and he had a good blood trail also.
im tired of people commenting on your videos saying baiting is soo bad if you dont want to watch it there is an x at the top right of your screen and you can click it, its not that hard. good hunt good dear good video. i love them slick tricks too such a solid broadhead.
@brady670S Yes because if we ignore it and choose not to voice our opinions, that automatically makes it ethical. This isn't a music video, it's not a matter of preference, it's a swift boot to the balls of fair chase and if it pisses us off we have the right to say so. If people don't like catching flak for it they don't have to show it to the world.
@pathfinder2289 I've been using Slick Tricks exclusively for about 5 years now. I've shot a bunch of animals with them and I couldn't be more pleased with their performance. They are razor sharp and they fly like a field tip. Blood trails are great. Get you a pack and you won't look back.
@justbowhunt awesome.... i just killed a 7 point on the 2nd! with mathews reezen, goldtip arrows, and SLICK TRICKS! i dont use the magnums, but it passed through both shoulders, huge hole and awesome blood trail. I also agree with the field point accuracy! they are cheap, and are very reliable! great broadhead! I deffinatley would recomend it!
Baiting isnt even hunting. Hunting, infers just that. Not just sit and wait. I have walked and sat for 40 hours a week, for weeks to get 1 buck. You are fucking lazy fucks. Keep watching TV assholes, if you could not bait, you could not hunt.
How is that even fun? Baiting is illegal here in Minnesota, and for a good reason. Those deer wouldn't naturally be feeding that close together and therefore the risk of spreading CWD is substantially higher. Also, its like shooting fish in a barrel. Completely unsportsmanlike if you ask me. But still, that's a good buck and a nice kill.
@dsaewq014 No one knows what causes or spreads CWD, that information is still undiscovered. The reason baiting is illegal in many states is because saliva contact from deer to deer MAY spread CWD. That being said I heard awhile back a scientist in Canada may have found a cure for CWD, I'm not sure if there is any truth to that though.
Hunting in a t-shirt and shorts. That's awesome. Guess all the guys that swear you have to wear scent blocking clothing are scratching their heads on this one. That hole from the slick trick is nasty. Thinking about trying them out this year.
@fpd299 I think that scent blocking stuff is a rip off. I just wear something comfortable and cheap and play the wind. Try out the Slick Tricks and you won't be disappointed. They fly great and they punch a mean hole. Thanks for watching.
