I have one more thing to say, the Palm did suck, it was a horrible fail, as was the Hero, but most of HTC, the Samsung Galaxy S, the new Nokia, and others with Android have been an awesome achievement, the Palm and Hero were just steps to the main phones.

Just got an Android phone, love it, use to have a Blackberry, have an iPod touch (basically same as iPhone) and the Droid app market is way better than iTunes and BB app world. The Blackberry was confusing and slow, iPhone is restricted to only Apple software, but Android is simple, fast, and is open to the world with Google, since Google does own Android! I don't care what you use, it's personal preference to me.

I just want a phone that makes phone calls and lasts at least a year. iPhones cost a grand in Australia and those peices of shit only last 8 months at best, if my fridge only lasted 8 months i would go on a murderous rampage but for some reason people accept phones only lasting months. What a fucking scam. Mobile phones are cheap pieces of consumer shit we have been convinced we need regardless of the cost.

I think the most important point when discussing android is that the iphone and blackberry are PHONES. Android is SOFTWARE. Android is a smart phone type host of applications for cheaper phones of all varieties. Android use will not be consumer driven at all (like others). The manufacturers of cheaper smart phone alternatives will use it as an OS. Consumers who buy these phones will have the Android functionality default(google based phone applications, think google maps, earth, email etc.)

These imbecils forgot the two biggest smartphone players - Symbian (especially with Nokia) and Windows mobile. Yes, iPhone took a big chunk out of it, but mainly due to it's 'cool' factor, as it's being bought by people, that don't even know what a smartphone means.
