@ChrisVGuitarist I don't just because I can't afford it, but having played through such a setup that an older friend of mine (who is a demon at blues and fusion on the electric guitar) has, I've found that it gives you some tonal capabilities that one doesn't really have using one amp. It's certainly a terrific sound, but actually purchasing two amps and having all that gear is a pretty costly investment.

That guitar doesn't actually sound out of tune to me; if you notice, it seems like the strings are in tune relative to one another. It's probably just dead strings and shitty sound quality, which will make it sound dead and a little flat. Or else Spencer is just really, really precise in making each string the same 1/8 of a tone flat (not likely).

MXR has this two knob one, black colored, called the MXR Micro Flange with true bypass, warm tone; (only the sweet spots have been dialed in) Check it out if you're interested. You Tube "ProGuitarShop MXR Micro Flange. They have the best demos online." The Boss Flanger one tends to sound like a Transformers Robot.

@Gtchy1230 Guitar = equal temperament. Equal temperament is always out of tune unless you play 4ths, 5ths, and octaves. The major 3rd is sharp on the guitar because of the equal temperament. The "just" major 3rd sounds amazing.

yeah if you set it to the momentary setting (the one at the bottom which he doesnt show you) it essentially turns the pedal off but when you hold down the footswitch it turns on the standard flange. That help?

I recommend the Roland Micro Cube amp it has an automatic flanger,chorus,phaser,tremolo,­delay, and reverb and has 7 channel settings for different effects -=}

I wouldn't reccomend phaser/flanger/autowah type pedals unless your running 2 power bricks.

pedals like this are far too gimmicky to use in more than like a couple of songs, you can get more use out of chorus/reverb/sustainer without being a dork and playing with knobs in between songs, great for studio effects but computer recording programs have built in flangers and phasers now.

I know some people would disagree but if your brick only powers 7 pedals you used up 2-3 on gimmick sounds.

I would help if your guitar was in tune playing a open a and d chord.. Listen to how around .28 -.35 seconds in the vid every chord he plays except the e is out of tune. Need to get your guitar intonated or tune better. I had a les paul that was really a pain in the ass like that.
