  • To whoever dislike this track: i dont know and i dont want to know if you made it by mistake or to look like a joint or what ever but i want you to know this! YOU ARE COMPLETLEY FAGGOT! Up the IRONS from Greece! period

  • My best Maiden's album;)

  • 3:36-5:20 is some of the greatest guitar work and riffs i've ever heard!!! UP THE IRONS!

  • Steve Harris' basswork on this album is absolutely sick. Very good album overall as well.

  • All the alcoholics and addicts of the world can relate to this song.

  • 7 people are those bieber fans called beliebers

    182 including me are unbelievers

  • I love this song, but they should have done it down a whole step to accommodate Blaze's vocal range. You can tell that he's struggling to hit the note on "my" in "All my life, I've run astray."

  • Wow people actually hate this song? Never in all the years I've been listening and enjoying this song did I think Maiden fans (no less) would not like this?!

It's one of the closest to my heart! Kickass song from a kickass album.

  • One of Maiden's most wicked songs

    Up the Irons

  • Cant lie, this song is fucking stupid, but the X factor is s good album.

  • This song has such awesome bass, especially during the solo. That's awesome sounding stuff!

  • ► Up the IRONS ◄

    ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫

  • Look guys, X Factor and Virtual XI are good albums, not compared to the other Maiden albums, but with bands such as Iron Maiden, there is no bad album, its just some are better than others, and besides, you still have Nicko on Drums, Dave and Janick on guitar and of course, Steve on bass. Also, think of this, if Blaze never wouldve joined when Bruce left they wouldve had no singer and then broken up, and you would all hate Bruce for ruining Iron Maiden, or possibly became an instrumental band.

  • @MrLizardKing96 Great thinking man :)

  • @MrLizardKing96 I agree with you. X Factor and Virtual XI are very good albums, but in my opinion they are not Iron Maiden albums, I a big Maiden fan and I've got all of original albums on CD. But when I've bought X Factor I thought "wow great music, but who is playing this?" I thought that somebody in the shop made mistake and gave me wrong record ;) But as I say before it's a big piece of great NWOBHM and still sounds fresh :)

  • they iron maiden "fans" that hate this song and every song that blaze bayley did with iron maiden are just 13 yo bruce dickinson fans.....i love bruce too guys....but when something is great u gotta acknowledge it and not snob it cause its not ur favorite singer.....

  • I absolutely love the chorus to this song. Blaze sounds incredibly powerful.

  • Great song! Blaze is no Bruce Dickenson, but so what. He's still awesome.

This album is dissed by so much people because it isn't metal. Maiden's Maiden, no matter what.

  • One word! EPIC: 3:36 to 5:20 So powerfull and so melancholic.

  • Wow...i've never appreciated this song enough. It deserves a lot more recognition, the chorus is just so catchy! In a dark sort of way. The arrangement's brilliant too

  • what the fuck this is the worst song ever honestly i like maiden but this takes the piss and blaze is a wanker

  • @KingMallet Blaze would rip your head off

  • @KingMallet

    well, thats your opinion

in my opinion this is their best album tied with seventh son of a seventh son

and Blaze is a great singer, thats a fact

  • 3:36 Lord bless you Steve

  • A very underrated song. The solo is very interesting, I think this is one of the best songs from this beautiful album :)

  • I think THE UNBELIEVER, EDUCATED FOOL, DON'T LOOK TO THE EYES OF STRANGERS are not a heavy metal music. I don't know what genre it is. Some people said it's a progressive metal. Maiden made a some kind experimental songs like this during Blaze era. Is it any involve of the Blaze during the writen of the songs? Since Bruce come back to the band and records Brave New Worlds all of the songs in there are heavy metal. It's just my opinion though.

  • @cassavaeater since bruce came back there have been hard rock songs

only metal songs they have had since he came back are

dance of death, paschendale, brave new world, mercenery, and there will be a few more i cant think of

  • @10078g Nah man, Maidens too complex to be simply hard rock. I'd say since Bruce has returned they've stayed progressive and as metal as you can get! Listen to 'a matter of life and death' album, it has the same dark feeling as the x factor

  • i so fucking adore the lyrics in this song, they really make sense to me

  • Maiden is my favorite band of all time and i love all of there albums and its a shame that X Factor is so underappreciated because its an unbelivable album!!!!!

  • I live. I listen. I am. Iron Maiden

    P.S. Epic Instrumental.

  • The guitar in the middle of the song just makes me cry! Not really, but it's a true masterpiece! Highly under rated album. I'm a huge maiden fan and this is actually

One of my favorite albums by them. Judgement of heaven is just amazing, try listening to that one as well.

  • Beatiful... Thanks Maiden For The Song! :D

  • o other band ould ever have done what Maiden did in the instrumental section of this song. So much feeling in all the notes. Blaze and Maiden really should have worked out, a shame that money and fame ruled over exploring new avenues. The new albums are still good but I'll say that I would haved LOVED to hear what Blaze and Maiden could have achieved together, and Bruce's solo career was on par with 80s Maiden before he returned.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Um, Blaze did not leave because of money and fame, he left because people hated him and he could not finish a tour because of so called "allergies" to stage equipment. People did not appreciate him because of his lifeless singing and cracking voice even in the studio. Iron Maiden are a live band and when your singer cannot reproduce his own stuff live much less the classic stuff and has to cancel half the tour because of questionable illness its time to get a new signer!

  • @rufus566 nah.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Also Bruce's solo stuff is no where near "on par" with peak era Maiden! You are either a noob or nuts.

  • Accident of Birth and The Chemical Wedding are just as good as early Maiden in my opinion, which I am allowed to have. Most real IM fans would agree.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Even Bruce does not agree with you, and if you took a poll of IM fans they would disagree with you, but you are entitled to your opinion no matter how ignorant. Looking at you earlier posts you have lost all credibility as a knowledgeable Maiden fan. Love Bruce's solo stuff but only a troll would say that it is on par with peak Maiden. The man himself does not even agree with you!

  • And who are you to define what a knowledgeable Maiden fan is? I have listened to all of Maiden's material and the solo works of those associated with the band. It is not up to you to define what any type of fan is. I have been on Maiden boards for years and a great deal of hardcore fans would disagree with you my friend. You calling my opinion 'ignorant' reveals your inner stupidity. While someones opinion can be ignorant if ignorant of the facts, there opinion on the quality of music cannot.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Cool it kid... I did not say you were not a fan, but just not a knowledgeable one. You are as big a fan of Bruce Dickinson and his solo stuff as Maiden itself. Just tell me how is someone a "hardcore Maiden fan" if they put non-Maiden stuff on par with the best of Maiden's material? You are not only ignorant of this fact but the fact that Maiden music beats all non-Maiden music. And if it is without Steve Harris its not Maiden. Fav albums: Skunkworks, Chemical Wedding...

  • Haha, no shit Bruce solo albums aren't Maiden, that's why they are Bruce's solo albums. And stop using the words knowledgeable and ignorant to describe opinions on the quality of music. I could call your opinion ignorant for considering Skunkworks to be one of Bruce's best, considering just about everyone else considers it his worst, but as an adult I have learned to respect others opinions. I suggest you do the same.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Do you even really read the comments I post? You address almost nothing that I post but just go on with the same incoherent drivel of your first post. First, I said that skunkworks is my fav not his best. That is a big difference that you do not seem to be able to grasp. And I used the word ignorant to describe you not your opinion. Answer this question: "Tell me how is someone a 'hardcore Maiden fan' if they put non-Maiden stuff on par with the best of Maiden's material?"

  • Do you understand what a hardcore fan is? Or do you believe you can define what a hardcore fan is? Given the nature of your previous posts, I'd guess the latter. I've listened to them for years and have everything they did, but most importantly I am a huge fan of their music. Being a hardcore fan of a band does not mean that that they are necessarily your favorite band or that you can't equate another bands best with theirs. These presumptions you have apparently invented in your ignorant mind.

  • @ShadowOfTheWave

Actually, it does mean that it is your favorite band (you saying Maiden is not your favorite band says it all) and that you think that band is the best. Being hardcore means you are "the most dedicated and intensely loyal nucleus of a group or movement". Would you really call yourself "hardcore" while slamming on Maiden like you do? Are you the most dedicated? The most loyal? Obviously not you pick non-maiden over Maiden! You are not very good at comebacks so stop it. Troll...

  • Troll, yet another word you don't understand. Care to tell your standards for that one as well?

It does not mean it is your favorite band, maybe using your criteria but not mine. If you learned to read you would see that I never said Maiden weren't my favorite band, they are. And I never said I would pick non Maiden over' Maiden, it's called reading and comprehension, try it. 'Hardcore' does not mean 'disallusioned' so I can slam them if I feel they aren't living up to their potential.

  • this is my favorite song from my favorite abulm- i like this singer better than bruce (name escapes me for the moment)

  • @xxkid123

    *kuch*Blaze Bayley*kuch*

  • hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • EPIC BASSLINE !!!

  • if you don't like don't like just go it's so simple

  • Epic lyrics =)

  • for intros and solos this has to be their best work,

i got this in about 1998 and never knew it had the awesome solo in it till about 4 years later.

when i was like 20 i used to come downstairs at night, drink whiskey, chain smoke and sit with my head between the speakers and go through my albums.

  • this album is really underrated.i am 33 and was bashing it back in 1995... this is STEVE'S PERSONAL ALBUM :) What a great find

  • i think bruce dickinson is the best sound for iron maiden.

  • i prefer the unbelieber wesite

  • I am one of you guys who thinks this is one of the best, if not the best Iron Maiden album musically.

Shallow metal listeners can't appreciate it because of the "lack of Bruce", the production not being the best and having been released in a very down period for metal, the mid 90s). But for those who can appreciate a masterpiece, here is the X Factor.

  • @neizhan

    im with you dude

    youre completely right

this is probably the most underrated album ever, seriously, this is a masterpiece and probably their best album along with SSOASS, sadly, atleast 80% of Maiden fans hate it, still thats fine, i respect their opinion, but to us, this will forever be a masterpiece

  • @neizhan

The production on "No Prayer" and "Fear on the Dark" sucked as well, but you will never see the Bruce ass kissers admit that. This was the best album they did in the 90s, and made #10 on my top 10 Maiden list. Which is the only Maiden album from the 90s that did.

  • @ShoWTeKzZ1 only for two maiden album albums my friend he's back in brave new world :)

  • doesnt the intro remind us of Invaders? XD

  • BEAUTIFUL SOLO! *SNIFF SNIFF*

  • 3:48 is one of the very best sounds my ears have ever heard and also one of the strongest emotions I have ever felt in my life.

  • iron = maiden maiden = iron

  • maiden and blaze=pure style

  • If I was Christian, this is what Heaven would be like.

  • Most underrated maiden song from one of the most underrated albums in histroy of heavy metal.

  • @chiranjiviupreti

    I tottaly agree with you...a pure masterpiece...Up the fuckin'Irons !

  • 3:37-5:20 very nice guitar work from Gers and murray!!!!

  • @Ads299 don't forget steve's bass line ;)

  • What is probably the two best things about Iron Maiden is that they can perfectly adapt their music to the singer, and that they don't give a damn about what other people think about them or their music. As was stated by Steve Harris, they don't care about the money or reaching number 1 on singles, they write music to please themselves, and look how far it has gotten them!

  • This album was really a masterpiece. Underrated, but still a masterpiece. It has the best lyrics, very dark, deepful and full of meaning.

  • @Infernalfight666

At the time it was made I tought It was the best they ever did, considering that Bruce has just left the band and the state of metal music in general ...as you said very deepful and utterly underrated.....

  • @bigfish

the singer is known as Blaze, not the best singer in the world ill admit, but it takes a lot more than that to "ruin Maiden"

  • Awesome song from X-factor....one of maiden best albums....The Unbeliver is a real masterpice by Gers & Harris. Up The Irons !

  • its my favorite fuckin song by them

  • ouai morceau marrant mais bof bof

  • Mp3ify,com is FULL OF ADWARE AND MALWARE.

    DO NOT GO THERE.!

  • I love the way Maiden went in a whole other direction for this album. Nothing they've made before or since sounds like it, and this song in particular underscores that, as it's one of their most unique sounding songs. It was dark, strange and hard to wrap your head around. To this day most Maiden fans seem to hate it, but it's one of my favorites for all of those reasons.

This is Iron Maiden not trying to sound like Iron Maiden, but just trying to write a good song.

  • I beg to differ. A Matter of Life and Death sounds like Dance of Death pt. 2. At the very least it was a natural progression from the two albums before it. X Factor, however, was a big departure and was all the better for it.

  • I do think Matter of Life and Death is an improved version of the X-Factor, but yes, it's

not as much as a drastic turn as the X-factor. Just my opinion though.

What I think is cool with this song is how it really sounds like Maiden a few minutes within the song, even with Blaze and the progressive style, it just screams Maiden, which is cool imo.

  • Comment removed

  • @completebastard ITS A SHAME PEOPLE ONLY SAY THEY HATE THIS BECAUSE ITS NOT BRUCE. PEOPLE JUST REFUSE TO LISTEN TO IT PROPERLY.....IF THEY COULD JUST LISTEN TO ITTHEY WOULD DESCOVER 2 AMAZING IRON MAIDEN ALBUMS....

  • @ashleys5093 Yes it is true, Blaze has caused many people to think this way, but my favorite Iron Maiden song is done with him, The Clansman

  • @completebastard

ya, this may be my fav Iron Maiden album ever, still i dont know if it beats Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

  • @completebastard and completely succeding in it. pitty Virtual XI wasn't as good as this album - still great, but... something is amiss there.

  • @completebastard trying?

  • @completebastard i agree with SOME songs.. like this. Other songs were a complete joke, almost the entire Virtual XI album

  • the drumming at the mid section sounds like those in Childhood's End

and the guitar solo sound a bit like the solo in Afraid To Shoot Strangers

  • i had this album for years before i discovered the solo on this,

  • this is my favorite song

  • ahahaahahhaahah

  • One of my favorites from the Blaze years. Would sound much better with Bruce on vocals. Also, would like to hear a Paul Di'anno version of the Angel and the Gambler. It will never happen, of course, but it would be cool to hear what all the Di'anno/Bayley songs would sound like with Dickinson vocals. And then a few songs of Bruce's and Blaze's done by Di'anno.

  • if bruce sang on this album, it would not be a classic like it is with blaze's voice. Can you imagine AMOLAD with Dianno's voice?

  • run " a stray"

  • cool

    0 0 _

  • Temazo impresionante, Maiden es todo bueno. Saludos.

  • The guitar picking has so much epic feeling. Great. Not best Maiden song, but the worst song from Maiden is better than others groups best song.

    UP THE IRONS.

  • awesome point amen.

  • whats the worst song

  • the worst song? whatever you decide. as long as its not a blaze song. :D

  • @BoinaVerde44 Do you know Judas Priest and Saxon?????

  • @Mandean I do. Both great bands, but for me they have nothing to do with Maiden.

  • @BoinaVerde44 Iron Maiden doesn't have worst song

  • @destrvctio youre fucking right

  • So much feeling

  • great song

  • epic

  • great solo

  • One of The best song i've ever heard , one word :FABULOUS

  • youve heard better songs¬!

    this song is amazing,

    but you suck!

  • Do you have any idea how badly i wanna kill you !

  • he left on mutual agreement. And blaze was bloody good, bruce is better by far, but blaze still ent bad

  • In the studio...live is a whole other story

  • i think blaze made it really weird bruce is gold

  • this album is not that bad as people say... i like it way much more than dance of death/brave new world/a matter of life and death.

it's not at the same level as the first seven albums but it's quite good

  • xfactor is there best album,

well harris, murray, gers and blaze consider it to be there best work,

  • Best song on the album in my opinion, that deep solo around the middle is just epic, even for Iron Maiden.

  • yeah that solo is freaking AWSOME!!

  • probably maiden's most underrated album, it 's the type of album that really grows on you, also just a lyric correction: "All my life... I've run away" should be "astray."

  • personally i dont like Blaze but the song is awesome

  • this is an older one huh? Original singer?

  • No, this is Blaze, he came in when Bruce left the band, I believe they did this album and Virtual XI, then Bruce came back. The original vocalist was Paul Di'anno (sp). If you want to hear Paul, check out Wrathchild. (Incoming Bruce > Blaze argument + much arguing)

  • the chorus remembers me to shadow of the colossus

  • maiden shoul do more albums with x-factor style!! i like these melodic songs and with bruce they would sound brilliant!

  • nice song i love X-Factor Blaze is great his period in maiden was weird but his solo carrer really has it :)

  • Unlike most others, I love this Maiden album. My third favorite.

  • hmm, i like this, this is quite an underrated maiden album nonetheless, love the rhythm this song has

  • isaacmetallica : ANDATE A LA RE MIERDA CABEZA DE ESCROTO.

This song is fuckin epic! I think that they should have played this song in rock in rio 2001 with Bruce, just like sign of the cross (MASTERPIECE)

  • right, the vocals are awesome and the galloping bass section is one of the best I´ve ever heard!

  • for me this is maidens best song,

though not a commercial hit or even one of the most popular songs on this album bayleys vocals on the chorus are godlike, combined with the epic solos(maidens best in my opinion), and steve harrises galloping bass section theres nothing to not love about this song,

  • the part after 6:50 really reminds me of the thin line between love and hate

  • theres only one real bad comment about this song blazes hight notes.... the hole song is a master piece

  • Love the riff at 2:05

  • i had the sme experience...this is an awesome album

  • I love this tune.

I had this album and never listened to it because I was not much of a Blaze fan, but one day I thought 'oh well it's not gonna hurt if I just take a listen', ever since this has been one of my fav albuns of all time, all songs touch you deep in the soul and the bass is godlike as always.

    Up the Irons!

  • no m gusto este tema para ser sincero,m gusto solamente la parte del solo d bajo y guitarra, entre los 3:36 y 5:21,esa parte esta buenisima, pro la cancion en general no m gusto,= maiden es el mejor grupo q existe

    UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!

  • i had to hear this song 3 or 4 times that i started to like it. but now i like it so all maiden songs

  • X-Factor album is really wierd. I don't like the beginning of the songs, but after a minute or so it's all Iron Maiden again and everything's good.

  • Killer song , Love the quick little pull of murray does right before the solo....Kind of like a warning a crazy solo's coming

  • did they replace bruce???? =[[[[[[

  • mmh, you don't know much about maiden do you? Bruce left maiden in 1993, Blaze replaced him. Bruce returned in 1999.

p.s. Blaze sounds great on this one!!

  • why did bruce leave maiden??

and thanks for the info =]

but i dont like this guys voice

  • no problem;)

Bruce wanted to focus on his solo career, trie accident of birth and chemical wedding those are great albums =)

  • i personally prefer virtual xi to x factor, but this is ok. i have recently started liking blayze, he's not as bad as i first thought! bruce is back now, and has made the 3 newest albums. they are, in my opinion, not as good as thier old stuff (except for brave new world), they have good songs, but i prefer pre-fear of the dark most. UP THE IRONS!!!

  • personnaly, i love brave new world and dance of death, actually i love all maiden songs xD i've got nothing against blaze, he's pretty good just not on the high notes.

    anyways, UP THE IRONS!!!

  • Eh, I like all three of their singers.

Even Dianno added his own flavor to the operatic vox in the band.

  • Great song!

  • The Unbeliever is incredible. One of their most creative and experimental songs, especialy the instrumental section. Blaze sounds fantastic. The X Factor is, in my opinion, Maiden's 3rd best album, and this song is one of my favorites on it. Simply breathtaking...

  • Hate the beginning vocals.

  • hate the beginning everything lol until the part where he says all my life

  • Understandable
