  • I wouldn't spend 20 minutes down in those tunnels fucking scary shit..

  • I think that a dedicated group of people should get the governments permission to properly map out and explore the caves to their fullest extent. Who knows what they'd find?

  • Comment removed

  • @spring1234777 weirdos, satanists, nazis, and other stuffs. Like there is alot of large groups

  • OMG...ive been in paris...hope i saw tat..

  • @dickran2142battle , they would get... Killed. Im french and trust me the catacombs are extremely dangerous.

  • @Procusion why are the catacombs dangerous? Not enough air? (And obviously that you could get lost?)

  • the skeptic in me says...could the lost photographer be the guy narrating (sp?) the piece...

  • That creepy woman's voice is Bonnie after James Woods punched her in the neck (reference to 'And Then There Were Fewer' by Family Guy)

  • we need to get some heavily armed angry russians in there

  • my comments never gets thumbs up

  • @xbox7203 There we go buddy. I got your back!

  • @VegaRocksTheRoses i was kidding i wanted people to make fun of me

  • @xbox7203 a simple "thank you" would have sufficed. :(

  • @VegaRocksTheRoses thank you

  • What's the big mystery? Some guys exploring alone, gets freaked out, drops his camera in panic and takes off.

  • shes the lady from that show poltregeist

  • fake.

  • the narrator is the psychic from Poltergiest!?

  • Comment removed

  • 1:09 THE FACE OH DEAR LORD

  • nararator becomes alot less scary when you realize its lisa simpson. look at the credits same voice actor

  • Lol is that the Physic from Poltergeist who is narrating?

  • I would never go down there unless with a cave team and good supplies. What would be cool is get thousands of people who can go nuts and try and map the whole thing properly.

  • When i was in the catacombs(07), i was lost with 3 friends for around 2 hours untill i found the markings we had left on the walls on my way in. during the time we were lost, we found an old, rusty nazi helmit. Because it was so deep in the tunnels; i presume the nazi must have been abit lost like myself and dumped it. or maybe he was attacked by the french resistance. not the best experiance being lost in a dark maze of tunnels surrounded by bones. in the deeper parts its hard to breathe.

  • @MrHamanio Crazy, were you guys by the bunker? I've never run into anything like that down there...though I imagine the nazi helmet has been looted since then...

  • @MrHamanio did you keep the helmet? That would be really valuable

  • He was probably looking for a toilet, desperate to take a crap.

  • the narrator sounds FAG

  • @skamaster48 umm, the narrator is a chick, its the lady who played the psychic in Poltergeist

  • @trickytart101 The Narrator is the girl in the Exorcist film,Linda Blair.

  • lol at people who think they visited the catacombs and they didnt found it scary. I hope you know that there's the tourist catacombs which is just a tunnel with a big room and the forbidden catacombs (the one in this video). u need to get there via secret entrance or restricted area.

  • and here I am, because I expected some archaeologists talking about the famous catacombs but instead I get this pseudo science bullshit. Shame on me for expecting some real science on youtube.

  • ........ he's dead, no mystery, you get lost in their the odd of getting out are slim.

  • Never been to the Catacombs but went to Catalonia.

  • I've been to the Catacombs in Paris, and I didn't think they were scary. It was quite peaceful to be honest.

  • sci fi channel ftw...

  • ... they got all their facts wrong... 600,000 people are down there, max! Not millions! Silly!!

  • lol this is so stupid, the voice and all. im doing a research paper on cataphiles and they totally dramatize this, what bullshit. how about cool! not scary. perhaps a little eerie, but fascinating all the same.

  • the catacombs are vast with alot unmapped as the parisians of old would seal of sections with plaster/stone walls etc but like in this video some people have knocked there way through to reveal more catacombs beyond

  • I had a dream about someone like that and I saw the bones on some rail road tracks

  • I cried the first time I watched the catacomb explorer's video, because of how scared he must have felt being down there by himself. Not only was he alone but something must have terrified him enough that it caused him to abandon the camera and run even deeper into the catacombs. I would never want to experience something like that. I pray that he got out somehow .

  • Narrators voice only worked in the Poltergeist.

  • thumbs

  • paris is a shit hole

  • That man is dead...maybe one of the tunnel where he died collapsed and no one can find him now

  • SECOND TIME I SAY THAT HERE, T H I S V I D E O IS F U C K I N G BULLSHIT.

Please Thumbs Up, It needs to be known that this video IS FUCKING BULLSHIT THIS IS BULLSHIT, i know the catacombs, NO SCARY PLACE JUST SOME FUCKING SKULLS AND BONES (and beautiful architectural things ! )

  • @Freakguitarman Nothing can be scary when you have a camera crew with you. This show is very stupid, I remembered when this aired. People who like this crap are idiots.

  • @Freakguitarman Your right, if your scared of bones, better not become a paleontologist.

  • The feeling of being in there and trapped with a bunch of dead people is enough for anyone to lose their sanity. Even if they did find him alive, he wouldn't be normal.

  • Thumbs down if you can't stand the quasi-creepy voice narrating this video

  • That voice is just stupid.

  • @SofieD85 lmao

  • being trapped in there would be one of the most terrifying experiences ever

  • he is fucking brave going in there himself lol

  • he had the key to the door to hell!!

  • I think this guy just scared the shit out of himself... and kept running. That is a damn shame

  • Pretty sure a lot of stuff in the show is planned.

    I read that somewhere.

But still one entertaining show, except when families scream so damn loud, makes me wanna slap my tv, or hit mute.

  • @ASurrealEntity I was going to say; from what I've been reading, catacomb access is controlled by the French government. There can't really be a scenario where just anybody goes wandering down there.

  • i wana go down there with an M60 and a load of heavy duty tac flares and lets see how that thing from the movie likes it!

  • Poor bloke

  • watch the movie Catacombs with Pink...just watching that movie scared the shit out of me...so I can't imagine being in that place

  • haha :) quelle blague, tellement américain !!

  • u cud c it between 5:00 and 5:01

  • pause on 5:01 on the left of the screen u cud c a face in the wall

  • @ResidentEvilDeadAim there's a lot of graffitis, paintings and sculptures in there, made by the "cataphiles".

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH LMAO

    "Scariest place on earth"

You've got to be drunk, and without correct lights to loose yoself

btw; i'm from paris, i know what i'm talking bout

  • I remember seeing this footage. Scared me shitless, mind you I was around 12-13 at the time !!!

  • That narrator needs a lozenge.

  • @86zebras its the midget lady who played the psychic in "Poltergeist."

  • @86zebras At least it isnt captain Janeway

  • Holy shit that place is scary. I will never, ever, ever, ever go down there. I swear it right now.

  • Whether the tape is real or not the idea of being lost and alone in those catacombs scares the living crap out of me. I really hope the video is made up and that no one actually had to go through this. This is just too horrible.

  • I went there:D

  • @DasMiguel u went to the catacombs?!

  • @ozzyosbournefan08 yes i went there with my school:D in this video it looks scarier than it is, the first minutes you are in there are the most frightening but after those minutes it isnt scary anymore just interesting

  • @DasMiguel

lol. No u didn't went "there". U went to the official ossuary, which is 1.6km long, with lights and guides pretty everywhere. The footage has been shot in the 250 other kilometers, where there's no lights, no signs and no guides. If u get lost there during the week with no lights and no map, u'll shit ure pants. Period.

I went down there more than a hundred times in two years, i know the entire map by heart, so i guess i can call this so called documentary lame. Lame but funny.

  • @jlebourg Ow ok I get it now, what i ment was that I was there by the official ossuary with lights and guides, I agree that I would shit my pants without that:P

  • @DasMiguel Yea, right...

  • @mikecrevil you dont believe me? I have pictures of it if you want.....

  • @DasMiguel Yea, show me some pictures 8-]

  • @DasMiguel how much of it can u actually see? i know there are some parts open to tour groups and stuff like that

  • @sheepdog2c7 If you take the tour you will see a small part of the catacombes which has lights, the rest is dark and scary as hell.

  • @DasMiguel cool, is it worth visiting?

  • @sheepdog2c7 yes, it is definitely worth visiting

  • that bitches voice scares the living shit out of me, every time i hear it i mute my compuer

  • @mrmayor92 WOW, FAG.

  • the girl that is reading the captions sounds annoying as hell

  • @DoomSprite236 The girl you referred to was actually an old lady -- Zelda Rubinstein. She was more well known as the psychic, Tangina Barrons from the film series, Poltergeist.

    PS. RIP to Zelda Rubinstein.

  • I remember watching this TV program many years ago. The story about a man who got lost inside the catacomb probably made the most indelible mark on me.

I've got some questions for you guys here: (i) Did the man really get lost inside the catacomb?, (ii) Is the catacomb that scary or eerie as it's made out in this TV program? Because, I've read elsewhere where people wrote the catacomb is actually not that scary or mysterious.

    Thanks!

  • @jessevoidable Answer to question 3....ya, its pretty frigin creepy!! You walk right beside piles of human remains arranged in weird shapes and designs and the ceilings get pretty low, to where you almost have to duck....and that's just the path they take the tourists down...so i can only imagine how creepy the rest of the catacombs are...especially if you were by yourself! :S

  • @ukygirl482 Gheez, thanks for the response. I did a little search online after I posted the comment on this video. Interestingly enough, some guys on a forum had started a discussion about this TV program a couple of years back. A number of them highlighted the fact about the similarity of the lost cataphile and the famous movie, The Blair Witch Project. Of course, the latter is just a fiction that was made to appear true.

The discussion really made me to re-think twice about the lost person.

  • man that looks like a hell of an interesting place to explore but i would be too scared to go in there even 10 feet!

  • If I lost my flashlight or it ran out of batteries, I would kill myself. I would rather be dead then trapped with god knows what three hundred feet under the city streets. I cant even imagine being down there WITH a flightlight and batteries by myself.

  • @TOXICinferno7

how would you do it? headbutt the wall? :D

  • I dont think I would of gone in there in the first place but if I did I think id of hung on the camera at least for the light....unless it was a planned that way...by SPOE people.

  • if i didnt know where i am going while im down there, ide get long ass rope and tie one end to the exit and tie the other end to my waist and ide bring flairs and ide even bring a lighter like @Rikutida said

  • THIS IS REAL??? D:

  • some guy is probably watching this a saying "dude my camera still works i want it back"

  • @GeoWing2 the guy who shot that is probably dead, lying there among the other corpses.

  • i love this video

  • i wish i could see them lol

  • iv been so many times there.. good memories about it when i watch this vid.. thnx for sharing!

  • The Catacombs are "only" 300km :P

  • Maybe if you want to read the youtube description you'd find out.

  • It was the genocide of Frenchmen in capture of the power by a global Jewish mafia in France with a principle «divide and dominate». The Using at the time of "Great French revolution" by the Jewish revolutionaries of a guillotine as new technology of a genocide, has generated a problem of recycling of victims. Then heads and trunks began to dump in catacombs. Only on the official statistics there not less than 6 million Frenchmen.

  • For concealment of these terrible evil deeds of "democrats" of that time, their successors think up nowadays the version about "carrying over of cemeteries".

And thus still they gain money (7 euros) at excursions in places of the crimes.

Forces of a gloom a lot of energy have spent to make all by slaves and obedient dumb a creatures by means of the bloody rituals under the name revolution and inquisition to hold all in obedience.

  • the music played in the beginning where they introduse france gives me the creeps for some reason it is scary

  • maybe the guy dropped it and got out fine but thought against going back for it

  • If the catacombs are so bad why not destroy it?

  • how the city would collapse

  • Fill it with cement!

  • because it is historically very significant dumbass.

if the queen of england doesn't wear her crown every day and she doesn't need it, then why not destroy it?

  • Come on, we really want to destroy a piece of history? :I

  • well the exploer met either two tates, he either managed to escape and is just unkonwn or he got lost in there and died for obvious reasons

  • the little kid is fuckin annoying.

  • Yeah, the OLD WORLD, which Paris is a part from, is the real deal - we had aristocratic people when americans didn't even exist. We had social freeks long before the NEW WORLD had them. I personally live in Tallinn, Estonia and the first mentioning of our Old Town dates back almost 1300 years - 4 times longer than America have even existed. So, if you want to find REAL hauntings, visit EUROPE. For ex. our old town is PACKED with ghost stories.

  • One would be a fool indeed to argue that America has older hauntings than Europe- in fact, I have never, ever heard anyone even attempt to claim that, so no need to capslock it. However, your definition of 'real' intrigues me. Maybe you mean 'older', as a haunting that is a mere 200 years old is no less real than one that is 500 years old. Or maybe you mean more prolific, which I think no one would argue either.

  • exactly 4:34 there is a face

  • i saw one on the wall aaround 1:08

  • what bollocks. I have been down there several times and its a great place to go.

  • @neil964 with a group right

  • Blair Witch imitation.

  • I mean come on i do feel for the man who went down there and got lost hopefully he got out but dropping the camera ? it was his only way out, he was a idoit for going down there in the first place.

  • at 5:08 - 5:09 i saw a human with his head down!!!

  • I'm sure you did! I saw this before on DVD and thought I saw something standing there, but was too chickenshit to put it in slow mo. It's just too creepy!!

  • I'm scared shitless of this i almost didn't reply to this cuz this scares me

  • @osufan2817 i cant see it... sad face

  • @osufan2817

    Huh? I don't see it...

  • @osufan2817 Where?

  • It's scary to imagine being in his shoes, unable to find your way out, panicking and no one can help you. I don't think he made it.

I remember reading this story about a man who got lost down there and he had a key to a certain door, but couldn't find the door and eventually collapsed and died. He was found right next to the door, never saw it.

  • Source?

  • I don't remember where I read it, it might not be true I'm just saying I remember reading about it.

  • @RescoeZ i can feel his pain i was once lost but not in a underground hell but in a huge hospital at night looking for my mom the lights were out EVERYWERE i used a fucking match to light up and i found my mom outside smoking :)

  • @RescoeZ was it this guy u think

  • yea well is not fake and i see the face its a painting.

  • Ha ha that sounds like my kind of night!!!

  • Unmapped tunnel aye...

LOOKS LIKE ITS GOOGLE MAPS TIME TO SHINE.... go GOOO!!!! GOOOO

Btw this shit is bs im feakin scared but tbh there is no way even if i was scared so much i would drop something with night vision to see my way out...

  • he is very likley dead considering that he has no light to countinue on (pss idiot)

  • In a fracture of a second between 5:00 and 5:01 I see a face on the left wall of him. I look at it over and over again to try to see better but it goes by too fast. Nothing to get exited about though, it just looks like someone who could be in Sopranos. :P

But look for yourselves, give me your opinion. Do you see anything at all?

  • I am pretty sure it's grafitti. I got it t pause....looks spray painted. That's about it.

  • Yeah, that kinda hit me after I pushed the submit-button :/ They say something about people painting on the walls for houndreds of years so why wouldn't there be graffiti aswell? Well, it proves that people have been there before him too and that he at least isn't completly lost. That whole show is a joke, really.

  • It's a graffitti face

  • damn... i wonder what happened to that guy who got lost

  • This looks like my basement.

  • ahhahah

  • What utter twaddle

  • I'm going

  • i want to go into there with an army... of 300 spartans!

lol but imagine going into there with everybody in paris=P

  • Comment removed

  • that guy who owns the camera was basically shaking in there.

  • no wonder, he was fuckin scared shitless, for a good reason too

  • if he was shaking that bad, why would he go in alone in the first place?

  • u know how at first u think ur brave enough to handle it. and then when u go further in, it kinda gets too much too handle??

  • Out of arrogance.

  • Don't worry guys I got out, now I just need back my camera that I dropped.

  • What happened idiot did you see something?

  • @Spartan1337 hahaha

  • i want to know what happend down there, and i think they should of got fingerprints off of the cam!

  • thats a good fucking point, my opinion its a fake who the fuck would go down THERE on their own

  • Did they Ever find him?!

  • No. They never found him. The Catacombs are not a place that you should go into alone. Ever.

  • Hell, I'd say you are a total moron if you go down there with an entire army. It's too risky, take one wrong turn and/or lose your bearings and you ain't getting out. It's saver to not go in at all.

  • Not with a group!! don't let this show scare you. Getting lost down there is quite rare.

people go through different manholes and meet. There are many cataphiles there that know their way around. About 1 million people go into the catacombs a day, actually. It's referenced in many French movies as well "have you been to the catacombs" it's something teens in Paris just do. There was an article in France about this show and how they were trying to scare people.

  • Here's the thing about the catacombs. Don't go alone, but don't go with a group. Always have someone who's been there before, knows their way around, and has a map (with flashlights, etc) be prepared. Also, never decide to "explore" on a whim with a group if they haven't been there before. Some cataphiles do this and tunnels collapse or they fall and these stories happen.

I'm sure this guy was a cataphile. From his breathing he actually sounded French (I'm serious!).

  • I don't think so

    Creepy, eh?

  • Very

dude if i could pay my friend wade to go down there he would he is that stupid

  • i want to know the same thing!

  • He probaly though it was fun going down there with a camera mabey some one dared him.He got lost in darkness, deep, alone he probaly though he saw something and shit his pants and from fear dropped the camera and ran back the way he came.

  • stupid stupid stupid why would you go down there if there are millions of dead pepole and not to mension the tunnels could collapse on you at any time im claustrophobic so never would go there i would bomb the place and have done with it

  • I was there... wasn't so bad. The worst thing was the German teenager who tried to steal a skull. The French police weren't very impressed.

  • stupid police... destroying all the fun souvenirs

  • This is the one place on earth you could never pay me enough money to go.

  • Amen

  • for a million dollars you can well enough get prepared for such a journey :p
