my F5E had one of the two ailerons jitter as I gave it more throttle. Not sure how this was happening, but I replaced the stock y-harness with a different quality one, and it stopped... the stock one must have been getting some type of feedback when I gave throttle. Weird because the ailerons were on a y-harness into a single RX port, yet only ONE of them twitched with throttle input. It's like they don't test their jets and want you to crash them... I also had the stock BEC burn up b4 flying
@derniko1992 The F-5e comes with a 2.4GHz radio, I wonder if that is what Winston was using. My P-51 also is 2.4GHz and it glitched once sending my plane into a dive but that was a cheaper radio. I still opt to run a HiTec FM Optic 6 Tx and dual conversion mode Supreme Rx, because it has never had a single glitch and the range is over 5000 ft.
Ouch! That was painful to watch, Jeff. Of course now we all know that it turns out well in the end since I already saw your new vid with the spare parts that Bob sent ya! :) Happy flying my friend!
It was painful alright. And part of the left wing and landing gear must have been embedded in the ground because I never recovered it. Went back and looked for it 3 weeks later, but the waterway where it crashed had been mowed...so who knows what happened to it. Thanks for the comment. :-)
Holy Crap, since I am Swiss I am glad I have never seen our swiss patrouille (which is what your plane represents) go down like that, they fly like on rails :)
They are easy to compare to the blue angels, just so you get the picture.
radio interferance sucks i had a heli-max axe cx micro co-ax that i could not fly because of the same problem and my dad has an infred heli that when he brings it over we turn on the tx then the heli and we dont touch the control on the tx the rotors will spin up think my house is haunted lol keep up the good work :)
Ouch! Yes it is definately time to get a 2.4ghz radio. It was a great flight all the way in. I bet you even beat the ambulance to the scene of the crash as fast as you were going.
I know you will have it flight ready in no time though.
Aw sorry to see man, but hey...you will get it up in the air again. And then it will fly like it has never done before....fly baby YEAH ! Sorry my imagination got carried away. Cheer up and hope to see the next video soon, but this time with a super landing, you know....like they should go... :-)
SHIT!!! My last 2 crashes were due to radio interference. You just feel so helpless when you plane heads towards the ground at high speed... Dont change the radio just yet! I have had loads of luck with mhz radios, they are great. You need to know where to put the ariel. Try again, but with the ariel going from the top of the fuselage (around the CG) up to the top of the fin. That works better than on the bottom, as the ariel can see it so to speak the whole time.
Totally a bummer. I think it is time we all switched to High quality 2.4ghz radios. It was shocking to see that happen, as my f-16, also has crashed twice due to flying out of range when it reallly wasnt. Sorry Jeff. Lets find a different radio for it.
Sorry for the lose man maybe you could change out the crystals and see if it helps the interference problem. That is a nice plane and its a shame that it has to be grounded. Hope it is able to be fixed.
Man, I feel for ya.. That was an amazing flight, a great take off, and a heckuva crash. If there was one bonus to any of this.. is that we are ll gunna be able to share this cool video around. Glad I sub'd to your channel... Regards
Don't know. I haven't even touched it since I brought it back home. It will probably go back together, but I haven't checked to see if I have any broken servos or not.
nooby question.
was that radio interference from ? and is that a 2.4ghz radidio?
7digitalSunday 1 month ago
@7digitalSunday The crash was from radio interference. After I repaired it, I put a 2.4 ghz radio system in it. No more radio interference.

don't you have an 2,4ghz radio? I think with those radios you can hardly get interferences...
nice flying though, and cool catapult!

Im very Sympathetic but dont you think its time to upgrade to 2.4Ghz after the 1st or 2nd time it causes you to crash? :(
