And leades should be admired for their messages, not for their power. There's a difference between respect and fear. You can force people to fear you, but you can't force people to respect you. Well, perhaps you might remember Kim Il Sung's biography and how he had extensive experience in the Christian church. When you compare the Christian religion to the Juche religion, you find that they are stunningly similar in the sense that they are centered around one single individual. I too am an atheist, and believe me, Christianity is not just some "Western propaganda" - in fact there are more people who believe in Christ living in countries supportive of the DPRK and Kim Il Sung..

You actually completely misread my statement. First of all, I said Kim Il Sung, not Kim Jong Il.
Second, I said nothing about God.
I said nothing about people starving to death.
I also said nothing about Christianity fucking up North Korea.
What I was talking about was the personality cult surrounding Kim Il Sung and how he cultivated the same sort of cult that early evangelists cultivated around Jesus (and which Jesus himself initiated).
Read Kim Il Sung's biography.

All that reaserch is in vain if you're still going to judge somebody on if he/she's from a certain country or has different political ideals. To be quite honest, the North Korean military equipment is shocking. I do know they have "better tanks" but seriously, those T-55's they keep showing off wouldn't even do a lick of good against modern day equipment.

Actually, you are quite correct there. That is the shame of today's modern army, the pride of fighting for one's military is fading out. I guess that is the beauty of North Korea, they still have that sense of "pride".
