Really against a great player, you can only do so much. Shane is doing a great job by keeping him off the line and getting his hand in Kobe's face when he shoots. Shane even said himself "when he's making shots I look bad and when he's missing shots I look like the best defender" or something to that effect.

Is Kobe supposed to have a good attitude when he's not playing well? Kobe was saying "he can't guard me" during Game 2 but that was because everyone made a big deal about Artest/ Battier being great defenders and how they could guard Kobe. Doug Collins even said that Kobe really respects and likes Shane.

shane battier is the best defender in the nba. He time and time again takes on the other team's best player, and despite his mediocre athletecim, he always either shuts em down, or makes it hell for them.

no he doesnt because shane only has to concentrate on defense only, kobe plays ur best player and give you 30. it is much harder play both ends of the floor it takes indurance

No he doesn't he's one of the elite defenders in the NBA year after year. I think he's better than Bowen, and he's a great guy who goes out there night after night playing the opponent's best player.

y do they say kobes a ball hog cuz he makes alot of points? lebron shoots it more and makes less! and kobe make 7 assists per game some point gaurds have that!

actually lebron averaged more points than kobe this year. and more assists. kobe is still the best player in the league though.

lebron is more in the magic johnson mold, in that he's bigger than a typical sg but very fast, (magic was bigger than a typical pg but ditto), and it's like he plays 3 positions at once, cleveland has had no decent pg and ALL the play goes through lebron, whereas kobe does the finishing a lot more than the setting up. also having fisher back in la cut down kobe's assist #s. kobe's def the most talented, intense, clutch etc player, but i think chris paul had the better, more surprising year.
