@karteorhan its best of 2010 ,. and in actuality in mass effect u choose your role very well from a selection of many classes ,. allies to fight with ,. huge story that allows u to pick certain outcomes and the gameplay is INCREDIBLY untraditional in terms of its shooter+rpg genre combined,.... and on top of that u do have excellent graphics,. i agree graphics can be a bonus but what really matters is solid gameplay,.mass effect just happens to have both.

The only reason why it has such hype is because its heavily sponsored by America and american game companies are trying to monopolize the video game industry. Its a 7/10 at best and the game constantly glitches.. If you want to see a real/good rpg i suggest Nier; completely underated game that flew under the radar.

RPG= role playing game, and in mass effect 2 you character influence the story the most, so you have an important ROLE in the game, ang you role is more accentuated then in other games. RPG soesn't mean necesarely exploring maps and lots of items, mass effect lacks items choice, but compensates in story.

while Mass Effect 2 do have choices, I felt that the choices in Mass Effect 2 kind of felt meaningless while I was playing the game since it didn't really change the game structure overall. There are some choice that changes(such as the character loyality effecting their survival at the end), but I still felt that the majority of Mass Effect 2 choices were meaningless.

How is Mass Effect 2 a RPG ? Hmmm let me think, maybe it's because you take on the ROLE of commander Sheppard, you make decisions that influence the way the character develops and the way the game goes forward, you level up, gain new skills and become more proficient. You can kit yourself out with new weapons, new gear, interact with various characters and the way that you treat them can also influence the way the game plays out. Apart from that, it doesn't really resemble a RPG at all !! *sigh*
