nope, affirmative action gets you in the door. Once you are in the door grade inflation takes over. This 'observer' guy is 100% right. Harvard, stanford, princeton, etc. all grade very easy, the challenge is to get in. I believe at one point Wharton didn't even give grades because they thought it encouraged too much competition.
There is a good reason that the obama campaign doesn't go around bragging that he got good grades in law school...nearly his entire class got 3.8+

This goes to show that the federal government is WAY too big. If we want social stability, we would be wise to set aside different states for different ethnicities. The claimed advantages of diversity are totally false, everyone always self segregates. Let's have a black state, West European State, East European, African, Arab, Jewish, Indian, Chinese. Separate them, give them their own state, and tell them to shut up beceause any ills are then their own creation.

Um, that's stupid. There is no evidence that separating races causes any amount of true social stability, in fact - just look in the history books (which in my opinion only graze on the subject of civil rights) - and you will see that evidence does not support that hypothesis. Besides, your idea of completely separate and sovereign states means that this wouldn't be the US at all. It would just be a bunch of nations connected together by land (Kinda like SA) that wouldn't unite to legislate.

I do NOT think John McCain is a racist, BUT his campaign uses race as a divisive factor. They very intelligently and craftily plant quiets seeds of divisiveness (targeting many characteristics of Obama INCLUDING race among other things i.e his patriotism to the US) into the American people's minds with their ads and statements. It's true and it's a tactic multiple campaigns use at various levels. To truly combat it means to convince people to reject these divisive notions that do not help us.

I think Gergen is right (this 1 time) when he talks about the worshipful ad being code for "uppity" to southern Reps.
There's some very consistent themes running through Republican ads & pundits when talking about Obama. They always seek to portray him as elitist & out of touch, as well as naive, young & inexperienced.
McCain doesn't want to talk policy (Bushthe3rd!). He'd much rather talk smack from now till Nov so they can waste everyone's time arguing about whether comments were racist.

Faux Noise's Obama quote is WAAY out of context. He was saying he has become a symbol, but that it is not about him, it is about how ready people are for change. Anyone who has heard Obama speak, knows he is extremely humble, like a good Mid-westerner, and that is why he has done so well here in the Mid-West.

The puppet masters are working against each other, interesting. Its strange the masses don't catch on how they are being manipulated, there's no more "candy" in the store to keep them distracted. Yet each side buys the manipulation lock, stock and barrel. Shows you how screwed up the masses are, and the puppet masters go overboard on trying to control them. There's some hope that the good American Citizens might wake up.
