can you shoot in 2.35:1 with the hpx 170?

@Deadmeatproductions Unfortunately, you cannot, it only does HDTV widescreen, which I believe is 1.78:1 or so. Final cut has an aspect ratio filter you can throw on top to get that "look" but I'm pretty sure you can only get that with anamorphic film.

Ah, I've always loved Browning's work. I read "My Last Duchess" a few years back in an intro course at university and loved it, then when I read porphyria's lover I was floor. I have it committed to memory and to this say still love to read it.

Good stuff man! Great. I usually never finish these Youtube short films and this held my attention. THe silences were great, camera work good, not too ambitious.

QUESTION: I may be getting a HPX or a SONY EX1, which do you think is better?

I never worked with that Sony. But, the Panasonic has great clarity and color reproduction, and is cheaper. Plus you can shoot in standard definition if you need to. With the Sony you cannot.

Either way though, you can't go wrong, Sony and Panasonic lead the industry.
