I have played hockey all of my life and this is the thing I hate about the NHL is that when a player gets a clean hit on someone like this, they all start to fight...why? So fucking annoying...
wow this announcer is annoying.."clean hit" "clean hit"...it's like he's doubting himself so he has to keep saying it's a "clean hit." Oh and "Robbed of a breakaway" wow how dumb are you. The only reason they had the breakaway is because the refs stopped play. Oh and if you check the stats Michelle got 2 min for roughing and Versteeg got 2 2 min penalties for roughing...why is it 2 2min penalties and not 1 4 min double minor?

Such a nice hit! Destroyed Toews. But this shows the one part i hate about hockey ATM, 90% of the time after there is a clean big hit there is always a fight and its annoying, there is no need 2 fight after a CLEAN big hit, i could understand if it was dirty, but not if its clean like this hit.
i agree, old time hockey was the best it wouldnt be like that but now every time you touch a star player theirs always a fight, old times if superstars hate each other they'll duke it out not anymore, i mean we ALL want to see a crosby ovechkin fight, who wouldnt?

Its the classic Wayne Gretzky - Marty McSorely system. Why do you think a shit player like McSorely got to play with Wayne for so many years, hell Wayne even made sure Marty was traded to LA and NY with him. That's his thug, that's why nobody hit Wayne.
@DivinityWithin10 so do you want them to wait for the play to end, watch the replay, analyze whether it was clean or not, and then decide to go after them? ...... really when it comes down to it if your teammate is injured clean or not youre not gonna kiss their feet in forgiveness
No but there is no need to fight after every fuckin big open ice hit. U get their number and you fucking destroy them next time they touch the puck, because a big hit is way more affective then a fight. You don't see to many ppl gettin injured in a fight, u see more injuries in big hits

They got a power play because the Hawks took two minors. Willie was roughing up Kris Versteeg after the play and he got two for that.

It's not the officials, it's the players. They need to stop going after players just because someone got hit hard. Especially if it's clean.
You're supposed to do something to try and prevent big hits, but you don't do something after it's already been done...
