Ok here's my problem I have final cut pro 6.06 but not motion, colour etc... I really want motion 4 (with motion 5 I can't collaborate with FCP 6) but just dont know where to get it. Maybe on Mac app store but I've got OSX 10.5.8 and can't get app store. HELP! Also you can download a 50-point garbage matte add-on for FCP, just google it

How easy would this effect be achieved in after effects? I'm thinking and I don't think it would be too hard. but when you're selecting the drop shadow wouldn't it be easiest to go to the frame where you got the "future" subject from and match the shadow there? just an idea

@RohMakFilms Maybe you could use an 8 point garbage matte. You wouldn't be able to do many complex shapes, but practice and stuff, maybe you'll figure something out.

@xomusicxomegileyxo Final Cut Pro X only supports 7 points as much as I know, which means that masking out a person isn't that easy in Final Cut Pro X... Anyway you could save some money for Motion 5, it is veeeery cheap! :)

I'm trying to recreate this on Motion. I duplicated the clip, masked the duplicated clip, put a feather on, but when I tried to make the frame stay in the Properties Tab, the clip kept going. It looked like The clip was playing behind it, but I could only see through where my mask was. Any suggestions?

If you use a shorter exposure time you will get more definition in your frozen frame (less blurry)

I told my dad(before you did this video) if you could do this effect this way and he said no because, as you see in MGM's video the camera is moving and the photo is still in the same place,so you have to edit this effect in after effects or Apple Shake frame by frame.

@abeerhkhan you can do the same exact thing in AE. You find the spot you want to do the freeze frame. Then mask it out the same way, make a freeze frame, and synchronize it all together. You can do the same exact thing. You could also motion track it if the camera isn't on a tripod, but that's more complicated. :)
