  • How long does german school go for?

  • @anbrin 9 10 12 or 13 years, longer = better!

  • @Waldseer92 I meant daily how many hours?

  • @anbrin oh sry^^

its different,... in my old school some days 7:30 - 12:30 and sometimes 7:30 - 16:30

  • @Waldseer92 I thought german highschools only go for about 4 hours?

  • in meiner grundschule musste ich nur im klassenraum hausschuhe anhaben, damit der boden nich dreckig wird, sau der scheiss :D

  • the german exchange students explained their school as easy and not as good as the one they were attending XD they always skipped and no one noticed, teachers weren't as friendly

  • The thing I learned from this video: German kids have AMAZING backpacks! I want one!

  • @theryn99 those backpacks are calles 'scout' and I belive every German kid has one :D

  • Look at their backpacks O.o

  • süß!!!!!

  • Americans might wonder just where things went wrong for them. I have worked in Germany and this school does seem very typical (altho I too never saw the shoes off rule. At home, sure, but not in school)

    Three things to notice.

Things here are modest and low key.

The school day is actually 8 hours long--work and fun

Walking to school is normal; kids get a little exercise My observation to Americans is: things are better elsewhere. America is not the best place in the world for kids

  • @CobinRain: The thing I kept saying was "This school looks like it has alot of money!"

If only I'd have stayed a few more years, I wonder how different I would have turned out haha.

  • some of the biggest backpacks I've seen...

  • @mr1georg57 we have the "Türken"

  • I'm 18 now (and german) and I have never heard of any school where you take of your shoes, or have an assembly

  • @laramenke: In some elementary schools they do that.

  • @laramenke i know it from Kindergarten.. Shoes off!

  • Alter als ich lese, the Hobbuchschule Reutlingen ... my home and nursery school :)

  • dang... you guys have the funkiest backpacks eva

  • 8:00.....still trying to lock this damn door!

  • @flint88ify Thank you for your insight. In America our schools are terrible. I would love to know more about how schools work in Germany. All school systems that are effective seem to put students on different tracks (levels A, B, and C in Germany). I know that many non-A-level Germans get hurt by this system, but many Americans feel that our system doesn't educate.

  • @runr100 the best thing of our school system in Germany is, that you are given the possibility to do your A levels, even if you just manage B- or C- levels. you just have to do a jop apprenticeship and work for a while as a foreman so you are allowed to go to university (there are even more possibilities to reach your A-levels)

  • Does the teacher really stay at her desk, away from the students, until they have questions? In America the teacher would be expected to walk among the students to see how they are doing. Of course, in public schools, where it is very difficult to get rid of terrible teachers, anything can happen.

  • @runr100 depends on the teacher most of the times. the lazy ones stay at the desk. ;)

  • @runr100 no shes just scared to get up shes thinkin they might have mp40s p38s luger and saramonial daggers

  • The bookbags look so different

  • wow i wish school was this fun for me when i was small i started schools aged three and had a 9:00 till 3:00 day we never had any fun times like they do x

  • boring

  • Die Rucksäcke sieht sehr bizarr aus. In Amerika, sie sehen sehr anders aus. Warum?

(Sorry for the grammar, only two years of German hehe)

  • Only schoolbeginners use them, but i think above grade 5 all have this regular backpacks which you also use in america ;)

  • @toothfareie In germany its normal that the young aged kids wear bags like this, because they are very comfortable, and gentle to the back and of course the are very solid, a very important aspekt for young childs who love to throw theire bags.

But later in the higher classes umhängetaschen were prefered, because the don t look so shitty

sorry for the bad english, but i´m german

  • @MuDdLes0 oh okay.

Verstehen Sie?)

  • @Milkpaw german students always write with pen. Never with pencil :D In higher classes they may sometimes write with a ballpoint :) oh and Füller is pen and Kulli (short form from Kugelschreiber) is ballpoint :)

  • @Vaney0 really? In German class they taught us that 'Füller' was a fountain pen specifically, and that 'Kulli' just meant pen.... o.0

  • @Milkpaw actually you can use both, but ballpoint is the right word for "Kulli" :)

  • Gehen Rückwandererkinder auf diese Schule?

  • back to school, back to school to prove to dad that im not a fool.
