Saw this tour at Stafford bingley hall fantastic! In reply to topic Torme or Gers? Torme all day long!
Now as GMT with John Mccoy & Robin Guy on drums they did a charity gig in my town Fleetwood,Lancs. Got chance to meet & chat, really great guys, only me & John with bald heads among a sea of long hair! Bernie shook my hand at the end & gave me his plectrum, in my mind a magic moment after seeing them all those years back.
Ex Embryo re your description, I think Mr G is a searcher of the truth as some of us are, including yourself, but I don't think he has pitched his tent yet. It may be a life long and beyond journey. I believe he is ahead of me in the journey and we may not end up at the same place don't know. Doubt if all three of us will pitch together anyway but maybe end up there regardless of direction. Tim Rice wrote the JCSS lyrics I believe not IG.
Beautiful song. Nice melodies, heavy ambient and powerful vocals. Ian Gillan is the best voice of heavy rock. Versatile, dynamic, intense, roughly, tecnical.
This takes me back. IGB was my first gig at the glasgow apollo, back in a long time ago. Thry've pulled it down, or turned it into a bongo hall. Great shame, it was a fantastic venue
wait a minute! this is not the mr. universe of episode six! i mean, both of them had gillan singing, but this one has just the same title as that of episode six, but music and lyrics completely different!
One of my favourite all time albums. Sorry, got to change channels, Paul Rogers and Queen. Doesn't feel right. Love Free and Bad Company. Freddie was the best ever front man so I can't stand what's happening at the Mandela 90 concert. Cynical?
Wow, this is a blast from my past. Gillan was my first live concert and they were awesome - saw them three more times and they got better and better. Pity Ian sold out and joined Sabbath and a past it's sell date Purple
Saw this most brilliant band and the supreme vocalist at the Rainbow Theatre in 1977. Ian and entourage came into pub accross the road from the theatre for a pint whilst a group of us were having a drink there. I raced accross to the theatre and bought a programme, raced back, borrowed a pencil and got Ians then girlfriend to get the great mans autograph for me. He is supreme.

im srry guys gillan is NOTHING without blackmore this is a good song my dad always use to play it when i was i kid i group with this stuff but still he needs blackmore!
well.. i would have preferred a longer living Mk II over this
i mean really no offense, Gillan my hero... but that guitar player is an amateur, almost embarassing compared to Blackmore (same goes for this keyboard/organ player compared to Jon Lord)
amateur? bernie torme is awesome. he has a unique style and makes that guitar sing. sure ritchie blackmore is good. who can question the man behind the solo to child in time, but come on. he was so far up his own ass
One of the greatest rock and roll voices of our time(maybe only Freddie Mercury could rival him). Gillan is truly out of this world. Saw him w/ DP recently in Orlando-still amazing.
Thanks for the incredable footage!!!!!!! Love it!!!!

This song stands on its own and Blackmore never could've played this song like Bernie Tormé, because Tormé used to play Punk music.
Both Tormé and Blackmore are influenced by Jimi Hendrix
