  • why dont you recycle i don't understand we do this in holland.

  • @mydollstuff I know huh?

  • Wow, wayyyy over complicated. The 2 man bulk crews here could have a pile like that taken care of in a minute, 2 minutes if they take their time. Plus there would be much less all over the street, and no scratched up sidewalk/road, not to mention much cheaper. No wonder this system is uncommon. But lots of fun to watch, and a great vid, 5 stars!

  • Yeah, lot's of piles could be picked up by hand, but they have been doing this for about 15 years or so now. It does scrape the road, but it wears off in a few months. It is very fun to watch! Thanks!

  • I thought that tires were on the no-no list of things they won't pick up... and just exactly were you borrowing? lol

I miss this stuff, it kicks ass!!!

  • I guess the other truck wasn't coming. They were going to come and pick it up. Too late now. I don't recall borrowing anything? I love this system! Too bad you don't get it anymore.

  • Our neighbor had a gas powered BBQ to get rid of, and he was wondering it they would take it.

  • Your welcome, sorry about the late response, my e mail went crazy. Anyway, this is an on call program, you get 1 free pick up per year. This was our 2nd, and it only cost $25! No trailers for the tractor, it just drives down the streets, which it's allowed to do!

  • We used to have a program where the county picked up piles once per year and the whole neighborhood have their piles out. They canceled that program due to ppl going through the piles. But the City of Citrus Heights has 3 pick up's per year for free, like you do. I don't think we have Peterbilt McNeilus RL's. But this is a Peterbilt. Don't worry about being annoying, I like talking about this.

  • We have Cat Claw and Tink Claw tractors like the one shown. Yes, we have a big variety of RL's! Some new Some old. Unfortunately they canceled the neighborhood clean up program, it is now on call. You call and they come pick it up. So, you have no clue where there is a pile in the neighborhood. Sorry, I won't be able to get cul-de-sac vids.

  • Probably not, sense I can't follow the trucks any more.

  • I'll see what I can do, I could ride my bike and get some footage. As long as I'm not following them I don't see anything wrong with it. Give me time though.

  • Your welcome, just please give me time!

  • Great! I'm busy with work and truck driving school, so time is not on my side for the next month or two. But I can't wait for the Heil Starr!

  • Amrep ASL hopefully. If I get hired by the County.

  • Hopefully they will allow me to mount the camera. I think they pick it, can you verify what chassis is? I know it's the steel frame that holds the motor or body. You talking about where the County puts their cameras?

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, that's what I thought. If I have any questions, I will most definitely ask! I take the written test the 29th, and I start driving in October, so I will have my license by the end of October! Then I have to apply at the county to drive garbage trucks, unfortunately they are not hiring right now. If I do get hired by them, I do start out driving the CAT tractor, then the RL, then the Side Loaders! That's their process.

  • When I'm driving them, I don't know, but I might get some footage, my neighbor might have a collection. Also, I found a NCU vid that I didn't post. I'll try posting it tomorrow! Cool #3, who's #2 & 1???

  • Neighborhood Clean Up (NCU)

Nice list! I don't think I've seen Whittier Ca's collection. Are there vids of their collection on youtube?

  • Nice list!

  • can u send me the vids?

  • r these ones u r gonna film?

  • a chassis is what mack, peterbilt, etc. makes what, mcneilus, amrep, heil, etc. put there products on.

  • Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I will write this down.

  • Its no wonder many cities contract waste services out to private companies. That is the laziest most inefficient method you could possibly use. Wow.

No offence to you who posted the video, I thank you- it was an interesting watch. I'm just expressing my opinion, based on years of experience in the business.

In my city when we have a neighborhood cleanup people from the area load the garbage, I just run the truck- we would have had that crap in the truck in less than half the time...

  • It also depends on the pile, if it's a small pile of tree trimmings, then it wouldn't take that long, unlike my pile. But this did take a while to load.

  • Yeah, you are right Eric, this is pretty inefficient but, it is sure fun to watch!.....LOL!

  • Cool video!!! That is pretty sweet equipment! Looks like the loader operator could use some training!

  • Thanks! The County has a lot of cool collection equipment! I think they did just fine.

  • That CAT is one of the coolest things I have seen on a route yet!

I wish we had cool stuff like that here in So Cal...

Also like how they modified the hopper on that RL!

  • Yup, the County has an awesome system, and equipment!

I'm sure it was modified to hold a big load of junk, like my pile!

  • Well, anytime you can get vid of this, hope you do!

This is one of the best bulk waste collections I have yet to see on YouTube!

  • I'll try to get some more vids, but it might take me a while. I'll see what I can do.

  • Hope you gave them a brew or cold drink we get this service to but only in the deprived areas

  • Do they use the same equipment???

  • no we use 7.5 tonne vans for white/gas bottles and electric stufff, all other go on dustcarts,,, by hand,,,other areas do use fork lifts ect depends on size of area,,, we are in an area called tendring essex,, the district i live in is clacton on sea

  • Sounds time consuming.

  • it is...... the areas deppressing and very hard work

  • That sucks!

  • how often do they do this?

  • Every resident in the Unincorporated area of Sacramento County gets a free pick up once every year. This was our second pick up. :)

  • Cool! Must be pretty rare to get footage.

  • This was recorded at my house, but it is hard to get video sense piles are randomly scattered around the neighborhood.

  • Awesome video! That was a pretty big pile of stuff! 5*

  • Thanks!, we had a lot of junk this time! This was the biggest pile we have ever had out!

  • why dont they load by hand its much quicker and safer.

  • I don't know. All I know is that they have been using this system for a long time!

  • Nice!! So they didn't even let the other guy collect the e-waste/tires (just took it themselves)?? LOL Looks like someone had to pay for this pile to be collected :D Enjoyed seeing it happen, what was being asked near the end?

  • Thanks! A separate truck was supposed to pick up the tires, e-waste, but, I guess they changed their mind.I had 4 tires out, but someone stole 3 of them. It only cost $25 to have this picked up. It was a great deal, so I called it in! At the end he asked me if the car in my driveway was mine. It kind of is, I'm borrowing it from my parents. :)

  • great video 5/5

  • Thanks!!!

  • That was a big pile!

  • It sure was!!! We had a lot of junk!

  • Why did you have the little pile separated from everything else? Was it supposed to be collected separately? Cool system, good video.

  • Yes, a different truck uas soposet to pick up the E-waste, and tires. Unfourtnately someont stole 3 of the 4 tires I had out. Thanks!

  • Are those your bins across the street?

  • They sure are!

  • HAHA
