firts song i've heard from beth orton, i wasn't to much into female artists at the time and was looking for one that would do the treak for me... and than this song came on the radio on a summer afternoon 10 years ago and it was like magic...i had to tell all my friends but they already new and were listening to her for months. i still love it after all this time, hope that some day i'll be able to see her in concert.
I'd have to admit that I'm not usually a fan of female singer/songwriters but Beth Orton is such a true artist. I like Suzanne Vega and Tracy Chapman as well but I don't listen to them the way I listen to Beth Orton...especially this album. The whole cd shines. This song just happens to be one of the highlights. 'Sweetest Decline' is one of the few songs I've heard that completely circumvented my armor and overwhelmed me. Beth Orton is something special.
This is an a amazing song heard it about 5 years ago when my mum brought the lazy sunday cd #1 and its just a song that take you back to when life was good!!!
It makes me want to start smoking weed again.

Orton's talent as a singer and songwriter prevent her from falling into any one category.
You can pick up CDs at your music dot com, (of Beths) very reasonably priced!
~take care~
