i remember playing guitar at a friends house and then hearing taimane and i was like dude lets jump in the car im getting a uke! thanks for some inspiration and love the snippet of cream at the end
u gooo taimane..i have nevered seen ur vids b4 til now..n im truly a fan..i was jus browsing thru samoan musics, n led me to yours wow! wat r u doin now? its 2010 your truly a blessing..
The only complaint i have of taimaine is that alot of her songs are covers, in this video it says the flamenco song is improv, however it is a cover of Let's Dance by Jake Shimabukuro.
however, she is extremely talented and a true testament to the versatility of the ukulele

i had a ukelele when i was 5 on a stage play, i know it was meant to be a prop at the time, but i loved how it sounded. what was the last song towards the ending. sounded rather enthralling.
Again, I'm blown away by your abilities, and your respect for such a wonderful, misjudged instrument. I've always loved the uke, but only got my first a year ago. I do quite a lot of long-term camping on paleontology digs, and love the portability and joy that the Uke has. I'm still in the very early stages of playing, really more like tinkering than really playing, and this so makes me want to explore it further. Mahalo!
i love your musical expression and how you become one with the music. you become THE instrument. What kind of uke do you have. I have one, wrote a song on it, and working on a few more. But my technique is super elementary. Wish i had a good experienced mentor.
Awesome! You're a real perfomer and a great musician! It's really great seeing you play, we can tel how much fun you're having. Isn't that the real goal of music: sharing? You do this well, thank you :)
Thank you so much. Yes, the goal of music is to be a common language and something we can share as humans, regardless of where we live. Music is a large part of the art & beauty of being human.
First of all she should have at least 50,000 subscribers. Look at that Australian-Vietnamese girl, CommunityChannel, who has almost 500,000 subscribers and earns over $100,000 from Youtube. Now you know why she posts every 3-4 days; the more she posts, the more money she makes.
Napolianboo can do the same:
* By getting a good VidCam and just talking to the camera and telling us her engagements and how it went.
* By playing some covers of other popular songs and adding verbal comments.
i learnt guitar by playing the ukelele first. but i dont play anywhere near as well as you lol awesome!!! you certanily have put the ukelele on the map :)
Thank you. I love the ukulele. I play the guitar a little and the piano a little, but I always return to the ukulele because I love it so much. It's like my friend.

It is amazing, but if she wants to prove it can play anything. she should play on a 4-string.
bountylink11 1 year ago
It is made for 8 strings but Taimane only uses 5 or 6. A, E, C, and double low G, sometimes she doubles C also.
Hope this helps,

Yeah, but that's really a mandolin dressed in ukulele's clothing, right?
Solstisol 2 years ago
No, it is actually an ukulele made by Casey Kamaka of the famous Kamaka brand of ukulele. I do have a mandolin though.

The ukulele is a friend to the player. The last song u refer to is probably Tico Tico, a great Brazilian song.

@Napolianboo I think not. The last song is Banjo Duel from the movie Deliverance, isn't it?
