why are they plating with the dry part of their lips? i noticed this also in classical players technique like larry adler and philip achille... is there any reason? because my teacher said i had to move my lips with their moist part... ya know like blues players? please someone tell me
this is fake most of the instruments you are playing are being dubbed over with brass instruments. for a chromatic bass harmonica to play notes that low the reed would have to be almost the size of a fist.
The Germans must have colonized in Mexico because this music never died there. In fact, Here in Southern California, I can hear it blasting out of every pickup truck that drives down the street.
The guy who plays the bass harmonica is also the tuba player. You can see him with his B&S PT-20 in some of the other videos. Occasionally he plays with the Pärnu Philharmonic Orchestra here in Estonia when a tuba is needed.
Those harmonica instruments are so portable. I wish to buy one and take it wherever I go! The only thing that's stopping me is the discovery that there are sooo many different ones from which only one octaved and one keyd ones cost around 10 euros, but that's not what I want, I want one that can play in all keys (or many) and several octaves! But that one would cost 1000 euros!!!
The bass harmonica sounds like a tuba

They should pull their pricks out while they do this. Add some humor to the proceedings.

i don't believe the lowest sounds like that. it's gotta be a tuba.
youllregretit 9 months ago
besides the lowest harmonica notes.... this just sounds like an accordion. Just get good at accordion and add a bass player.
freezazoid 9 months ago
@freezazoid Well, an accordian basically IS two harmonicas strapped together, so that's not surprising.

Yeah, a rather pretty "folksy" tune, but they play trills without touching the buttons and poly runs with no poly visible. Truly amazing magic!!!
