This is called Garryvoe strand. If you look carefully when the tide is out ,you sometimes see the submerged roots of an ancient oak forest exposed as stumps of black oak. The caravans in the background are in a place called Ardnahinch. Ballycotton is about four miles from here but much shorter if you walk along the beach.
